Another great video, Chris! I bought a set of quick jacks recently for my C7 Z06 but have not used them yet. Did you only use the blocks that came with the lift? Or do you recommend using a set of pucks along with the blocks? My concern is the CF side skirts and clearance so I don’t crack them. Thanks.

I keep my quick jacks connected and on the ground to the side since I am maintaining over a dozen cars. TL;DR I love your spec dude! The full Riptide Blue body + roof is perfect with the black accents of the mirrors, air vents, and rear wing! As a classic Corvette fan, the old Corvettes have a classy, badass design and need a classy color like a deep dark red; while the new Corvettes, approaching hypercar status, need more vibrant, exotic colors! IMO! I love your spec dude! I've been torn between deciding if I want the air vent accents on the side to be the same as the body color. My favorite color is blue too - was also torn between deciding if I like Rapid Blue or the Riptide Blue, or even the Elkhart Lake Blue that's now discontinued - and while I love how the Rapid Blue just pops, it lacks all the color depth that the Riptide Blue brings, and I finally decided that it looks better than the slightly darker Elkhart Lake Blue. So as for the air vent accents, I couldn't decide if I wanted the black carbon fiber roof in combination with the carbon fiber air vent accents, or the air vent accents to be the same color as the body. But man, your Corvette is the way to go! The coupe hardtop needs to be body color! It looks weird being black, the way the silhouette of the blue is cut off by the black. And the mirrors, air vents, and rear wing being black is the perfect way to accent the full blue body! I'm a diehard classic Corvette fan of the 60's C2 models and early 70's C3 models (any Corvette '63-'72, as in '73 they got rid of the front chrome bumper and in '74 the rear chrome bumper all together as well. In my opinion the sharp lines on the front of the Corvette NEED the chrome accent; it's perfect - the difference is night and day). The classic Corvettes have a classy, badass design, and this deserves a classy darker red, like Marlboro Red (or even dark blue or dark green, etc). I love a deep red on a Corvette, even though my favorite color is blue. But I struggle to love the Red Mist Metallic on the C8 Corvette. And the Riptide Blue Metallic just captures me and stuns me. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me but I recently discovered why. In my mind, the personality of Corvettes has changed. The classic Corvettes deserve classy, deeper, darker colors, and the new C8 Corvettes, approaching hypercar status, deserve brighter, more vibrant and exotic colors!
I'll never forget when i went on a trip to Branson Missouri in 2021 and we were in our resort and i saw a yellow C8 Z06 with the Z07 package. He must have been one of the first ones because that was the first of only 2 C8Zs ive seen so far.
The Z06 is a beast bro. I’ve seen several videos on these cars and they have yet to disappoint anyone who had the opportunity to experience the ride. That being said, I hope they didn’t get you with the absurd price increase that is being talked about all over the net. Enjoy sir. I am looking forward to more videos of this work of art.

I just roll up a coupe towels and block the vents so water doesn't get in. They do have silicone molded covers available, but a towel works just fine. Also, a tip for cleaning the engine bay and glass is to use a step stool to get into the rear trunk. It will support your weight fine, and it makes it super easy to clean the engine bay and glass.
Great video…I’m a ceramic guy myself. Perfect rationale for the no rock chips 100%!! I had a C8 coupe and the engine bay was vented like that as well. I’m not sure about your Z06 but the bottom of the rear glass was open too. I use to put towels inside the engine bay when I washed it, but didn’t really help. Just drippy wet towel. Not much you can do. Beautiful car, great video.
Beautiful C8! My favorite color for that car. I have a C5 and use the QuickJacks with it. They are great for doing any wheel work, brakes, oil changes, and I was even able to get a Borla S Type exhaust installed. That's about the extent of my skills. I wouldn't dare attempt the motor work like you do. I know the weight distribution on my C5 is pretty balanced so it doesn't matter too much the orientation of which way you lift. I agree with you about the ppf. I take the same approach. I don’t worry about water in the engine compartment. Just don’t directly spray water in there and you will be fine. I just wipe it down after a wash. They have foam blocks but they are $120! They still let some water in so that’s a pass for me. I still have to coat my wheels. I used Adam’s graphene coating on my C8 and it looks great!

Beautiful color Z06. I picked up a set of these quick jacks over the winter and already used them a bunch they are quite useful. Actually right now the Cobra is up on them as I'm taking the wheels in for new tires to be put on
I didn’t PPF my C7 and had no issues. My Riptide Blue 2024 Z06 did get paint correction and PPF on the front end and rockers. Right behind the Z06 emblem on the bottom of the the rockers have scuffs from rocks on the PPF.

I just moved to Florida from my Massachusetts and I’ve owned my Corvette for 37 years, no PPF and the front end still looks new I wrapped the ZL1 because the bugs here are a problem and are a pain to remove. I probably will end end up doing the front of the Corvette in PPF as well especially done here in Florida.
I love your attention to detail Chris. I can’t wait to see what you figure out on the Merc! One question, what kind of cover do you have on the C8? I have a 23 Z51 and the cover I bought is SO stiff.
The Blue Devil is looking sharp as ever bud. Well done. I did something similar to my 17 ZL1 when I had it and boy did it make a difference in the Red Hot it was painted in.
Wow looks beautiful!! 👍🏻👊🏻 As far as the vents I’d throw some blue painters tape on her under the vents before each wash . Easy on easy off and the blue would match for that 20 minutes it’s on there 😆I know your OCD about those kind of things like me lol. Less time putting the tape on and off verses trying to clean all the water out of the engine bay .

Chris, I’m at the point in my 67 Camaro LS3 swap that I just got the McLeod master installed and I’m going thru the process of bleeding the system. I was hoping you could shed some light on how your pedal feel changed, if at all, from not bled at all to fully bled. Even with no fluid in the system, the McLeod clutch has resistance against the pedal and it springs right back so it’s just hard to know when it’s fully bled. Thanks man!

Not to mention it would be a TON of content for your channel...and who could say no to a GT40 added to their collection?
Chris when you decide to update your C8Z, wrap the top with black high closs vinyl, it will transform the look greatly, like the convertible C8Zs they look sinister
It’s funny that you have a lift saying you FINALLY got quickjacks. Lol. Usually everyone else says the other way around. I just went from quickjacks for a 4 post. I get your qualm about getting the vette on the lift for sure. My quickjacks JUST cleared my sideskirts with my c6

I was so against the new vettes, but this one is just too clean to not appreciate. Favorite has to be the cobra though. Nice builds man!
Right on!
WHEELS NEED SPACERS ! Congrats on all your hard work man !
Already ordered them
Blue with yellow stitched interior and yellow calipers is some high level taste sir
🤝
Thanks for sharing this information very helpful I’m considering a similar project with quick jacks 👏🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Chris ,as a current C-3 & C-7 Corvette owner ,was not a Big Fan of the C- 8 Corvette ,but after seeing your BAD ASS LOOKING C-8 , IT MADE ME REALIZED THAT MAYBE ONE DAY I WILL TEST DRIVE ONE ,BUT IT MUST BE THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE & THE YELLOW CALIPERS !! GREAT TASTE IN CARS BUDDY!!! YEAH WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO DO A VIDEO ON HOW YOU APPLY CERAMIC COATING ?? YEAH QUICKJACK COME IN HANDY FOR ALL SMALL JOBS!! KEEP THEM VIDEOS COMING !! JESSE VIA LAS VEGAS
looks great..... red mist metallic is my first choice right now... but i would say riptide blue is right there with it
once you have the car in the air and locks set you can disconnect the lines from the lifts and get the pump and long lines out of the way while you work on it
Someone ordered a blacked out z06 with fully red interior and the glass targa top 😮💨. Perks of uncle being the detail manager at the local dealership. I see a lot of these c8s in so many nice specs
Monday morning. What a great surprise.
Damn that Vette looks simply amazing! Such a beautiful shade of blue. As always, job well done Chris 💪🏼
🤙🤙
Looking mint as always fast and fun times are coming stay safe
Great video as always! I need those quick jacks in my life!!!
As soon as you said "project car" I was like "he gonna throw shade at the AMG" and *BOOM* 😂
Stupid fkn thing lol
If you lowered that car let’s say .500” would the quick jacks still slide under?
Yes they would. And were about to find out lol
Hmmm interesting. I’ve been looking at this setup for my lowered C7.
Crazy nice. I thought I was going to be getting a rapid blue in 25 but riptide is hot.
Love your channel brother. By the way, Speedway Composites sells some awesome engine vent covers for when you wash the C8.
Thanks for the tip!
OH NO... More gridlock
As far as the vents I’d throw some blue painters tape on her under the vents before each wash . Easy on easy off and the blue would match for that 20 minutes it’s on there 😆I know your OCD about those kind of things like me lol. Less time putting the tape on and off verses trying to clean all the water out of the engine bay .
Bro what a great channel. Love ur stuff
Chris, there are block off kits for the holes in the rear of the c8 fyi... not sure they're great for cooling but there is a kit out there
Chris do they provide documentation on the lifting points for the Cobra or did you just use the sub frame rails?
They do, but I just used the frame rails. It's sock rolid up there
@@ChrisSullivan69Thank you! I absolutely dread lifting it up via the K member, these have been on my mind and I cant tell you how stoked I was to see you test em out on the Cobra 😂
First time viewer, after seeing your attention to detail I’m now a subscriber
Welcome aboard!
I don't have a c8 but I saw a video where there is a company that makes a block off kit for those rear vents while you wash the car.
Thank you for the content; congratulations on your beautiful Riptide Blue Z06, love blue color Vettes; take care !
Thanks for watching
Is there anything Cris cant do? Amazing skills and energy
Love this car, that colour is incredible, would like to see it on a different set of wheels, polished, just to compare👍top job as always 👏
Never been a blue car guy but....... wow!! Do you mind sharing what black car covers you use I have been looking for some stretchy ones but dont know what brand to buy!! Love the vids keep em coming!!!
That color is awesome!! Congrats, enjoy in good health!
Chris you make my Mondays way more bearable lol.
Glad to hear it man! Thanks for watching
Thanks man!
Great car collection...I've watched lots of your videos and can tell you have amazing attention to detail and really have a passion for your cars. Something I've been thinking about lately is a retirement project (yes, I'm old). I've been looking at some of the GT40 kit cars. I think you would have a great time putting a kit car together and the end result would be AMAZING! Not to mention it would be a TON of content for your channel...and who could say no to a GT40 added to their collection?
Love your videos. Great job. I will be attempting to ceramic coat my C5 soon. Thanks for the great content
Chris when you decide to update your C8Z, wrap the top with black high closs vinyl, it will transform the look greatly, like the convertible C8Zs they look sinister
Great channel and content bro 💪🏿
Appreciate that!
Drop-dead gorgeous Rip Tide Blue.
Completley agree on the PPF...I did a full PPF on my w212 e63 only because I drive 20k mi/yrs, and a lot of it on interstate
What a beaut bro, that blue color is awesome.
It really is!
Can't wait to try it on the c6
@@ChrisSullivan69 I am curious your feelings vs the 2 post.
I am thinking your c6 is lower than mine, so it may not be as easy as you are hoping. They deff fill that gap for us guys with less than stellar garage space though. Mine saved me soooo much time getting my cars in the air over the last 5 yrs or so
