SPRING CLEANING: My Twin Turbo Z06 Gets Some Much Needed TLC For The 2023 Season!

  • My twin turbo C6 Z06 has taken a bit of a backseat over the last year or so with other project cars on the channel. In this video I pull the cover off and wake it up from a long winters nap and start taking care of the to-do list. A big ticket item ive wanted to cover is the infamous C6 dash peeling or dash delamination. It was a big project but I got it taken care of! More to come on this car and of course all the other projects!

I had to laugh in the beginning of the video you struggled a little bit to get out of the car. Wait to you get to your sixties and try that. But I was Just like you for almost 50 years with my cars. Had 16 corvettes over my life time plus a host of other cars. Would obsesably clean them and take them to car shows. I once took 2 vettes, a Viper and a Prowler to a car show. Fun times!

Good job bro. 🏆 I would have heavily moisturized that leather before putting the dash back in. It's hard to get in the tight areas near the windshield later. How far away is the WBO2 sensor from the outlet of the turbos? If it's too close the heat could be killing them. I also recommend silicone vacuum lines. They work so well, stay tight and don't breakdown like rubber.

Honestly, the Corvette C6 Z06 is my actual dream car in velocity yellow. Except they are rare to come across in the UK so you only see them once in a blue moon. In fact I watched your entire series of the twin turbo Corvette, as I was watched Mat Armstrong's twin turbo Gallardo LP560-4 series a while back, then the thought of a twin turbo Corvette C6 Z06 came to mind. Really loving the car honestly and hopefully we can see more twin turbo Corvette content in the future, although I am also interested in your other projects so I'll be sure to check them out. I'm sure the Corvette could smoke the Gallardo given the opportunity, lol

Wether is a mechanic or an upholstery guy or anything relateded. To cars.. , they dont like clients that know a lot about cars.. Gearheads. I, ve encountered with several idiots in a situation where you know what is wrong with the car.. But you dont have time to fix it. And tell them, fix this, and they tell you.. ( I have. To check first and blah blah blah and I tell them straight up "this is the issue fix it"i have tools and I have knowledge I just dont have time.. I have a full. Time job. This is my hobbie, And they do it and they say.. Yes you were right.. That was the issue.. They just want to have stupid clients so they can charge more.. 😂😂 The upolstery guy wanted toCharge more , he cannot Charge the same. He would ve done the same you did and tell you that he replaced the part. 😂😂 I know how they think.

Of all the endless threads I've read on the Corvette Forums and other places, that's by far the best end result I've seen someone achieve. I've seen people inject adhesive through the top, cover it all with new leather, cut/splice in a new section, etc.... but the guy that has never done it before nails it. If I weren't so afraid of busting off more plastic tabs in my interior, I might try this one.
