There are 375 of these carbon fiber, 903 horsepower masterpieces from McLaren in the entire world. The P1 is McLaren's entry into the so-called hybrid hypercar Holy Trinity. Similar ingredients to the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder but they are very different in their own epic ways. The P1 combines a mid-engined twin turbo V8 with hybrid boost for staggering performance. 7 speed DCT, RWD only, dry weight of just over 3000 lbs, 0-60 in 2.7s and a top speed of 217 mph. One of my absolute dream cars, the P1 may be a decade old but still provides an exhilarating automotive experience. The noises from the roof scoop and turbos are astounding. This was a amazing experience getting to drive and review a McLaren P1. Proof that hybrids aren't always boring. Enjoy this review!

Totally nuts. Since this is the rarest of the Big 3 I think this will continue to appreciate easily 5 million someday if not 10 due to both the rarity and the last of the golden age of cars and arguably the peak.

I can’t disagree with your descriptions of the way the car makes you feel - it is (in mere words) almost impossible as too many things (physical and mental) happen at once to enable adequate communication. What you didn’t mention was its absolute rock star status. Go anywhere in the P1 and it instantly draws a crowd like bees to a honeypot and always for the ‘right’ reason 🙂. We have had people approach the car as it pulls up …. actually crying with excitement to see it and to know it is being driven! THAT effect is almost non-existent in the rest of the car fan world. 👌

I’ve logged a ton of miles in one of these, believe me when I tell you the P1 GTR is somehow an entirely crazier deal.
