    Nice....I know “zip” about flying helicopters but, why is the flare so steep? It looks like you’re close to potentially hitting the ground with the tail!

    Elf at 8:36 holding his hat from the rotor wash.... that was a awesome video!

    Elf (Dalton?) starts to enter the far left middle of frame at 8:36 mark... You see his hat / head... He appears to be holding a headset with something pink, also... Great video, as always! My wife and I are always in awe of the autos... She said a few more views from the outside to the ground would be neat, as well, full inside view of the same auto would be nice...

    Elk is at 8:37 during the landing on the far left, looks like he is on the phone. Great video, that slow motion of the flare in the R66 is awesome.

    Great video once again. Curious when you are doing auto in R66 what about boom strike. Also why is it a heli and not a chopper?

  • @NoelJacobs
    @NoelJacobs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    On the R66, how do you know how much to flare, so as to not incur a tailstrike?

      I would imagine it’s like driving a car given enough time you will learn the dimensions of the car I’d imagine it’s like that

    Really amazed with how high and hard the flare is in the R66 and B206 and initially like others worried about a tail strike but great to see how your students have progressed and level of competency. Are they all type rated on the Cabri, R44 and R66? Best wishes to everyone at BC Helicopters

    Vlogmas 2017 is epic! We all appreciate the hard work and all your time and effort to post content every day. The elf appears crouched at 8:37 and magically disappears at 8:38.......fancy editing or did he fall in a crevasse? Can’t wait for tomorrow’s vlog.

    In case of need, how do you deploy the floater on the R66?
    Also, why european and american helis have the rotor spinning in different directions? Can it be standardized, so all helis would have the rotor spinning the same direction?

    • @Scylla94941
      @Scylla94941 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The emergency floats release is always located on the collective. The direction of the rotor probably has some aerodynamic reasons behind it but a lot of European helicopters have their rotor going counter-clockwise as well.
