It is refreshing to see a young face with fresh new idea's and some old ones that stiil work teaching the art of helicopter aviation. I just found your videos on youtube and I am impressed. Touchdown auto's are a thing of the past here in the US, until you have an actual engine failuer, and then it is too late to learn the last 50' of an autorotation. I always said anyone can fall 10,000' but its the last 50' that make you or break you. I would also like to commend you on the video you made about flying blind. You took some heat from some people there. I was a US Army instructor pilot and I always said an intrument ticket earned in the simulator does not make you an instrument pilot. I was also a company Check Airman for Air Logistics (now Bristow) where we did touchdown auto's to sod, asphalt and water. I could tell when i got a new hire who had never done a touchdown auto. I would love to get my hands on that Cabri G2, it looks awsome.
I'm into my conversion training from professional airplane to professional helicopter and watching your videos is awesome. I've never imagined you could land on such confined pads WOW. We can easily feel your passion. Thank you
I thought I’d completed all my bucket list items. These videos have made me add “flying a helicopter” to the list. I’ll need to finish getting my daughter through college, but as soon as that happens, I want to take a course.
Inspiring man! I'm a helicopter pilot myself, converted from fixed wing. Keep coming with your awesome lessons man, it keeps people like us who are passionate about flying, reminded of how awesome it is to be flying a helicopter. Some of my training consists of confined area itself but the checks (power cx before landing) is slightly different from you guys. Good to learn something new! Would love to fly with Bc Heli one day!
well, I'm going to become one of your students ... you are an amazing flight instructor... you enjoy seeing others succeed and learn from your instruction ...
I remember when I worked on Haleakala in Maui. We would sometimes get flown into our field camp where the LZ was so crazy small! I always wondered if the pilots were secretly nervous whenever they had to bring us there.
Always love your videos man, I'm planning to get my PPL and CPL (H). I'm currently in the saving mode and once I'm ready I'll most probably be looking at BC Helicopter. Thanks again for these cool and lovely videos.
How do you do a power check when your OGE hover area has wind, but your landing area is within some kind of wind shadowed area. We tend to look at the power margin between Vy and max power, and determine performance from the available margin, but I've noticed many other countries use the OGE hover method, which can potentially get you trapped. Just Curious, love the videos.
It certainly appears that there is something inherent about human capabilities and the design and construction of the modern heli that shows complete control of the machine.
You are doing some great videos. Wish I was a bit younger as I’d do my heli conversion with you guys. I am Commercial fixed wing rated. Just have to enjoy things through your videos. Keep up great work.
When you're coming up to a spot like the waterfall that has a vertical rock face behind it, what are you using as your horizon reference to maintain a good hover and approach? Do you crosscheck your AI at all in those situations or do you go purely by the drift of the helicopter? I could see it being quite easy to be led by a false horizon somewhere along the wall.
nice stuff but isnt it quite dangerous landing on the rooftop of this small building at 5:56......? How do you know for certain that the roof is gonna hold up? I dunno, i might just be a bit too cautious in such cases.
Hey, you know what would be really great?!? If you did one of your in-depth discussions on how to fly in mountains and handle the navigation and, importantly, how to handle/read the winds for safe flying. I’m 3 hours shy of getting my helo license over here in the Smokey mountains and will need to fly through/over the mountains in an R22 (not your fav I know). Thanks!
That video is definitley coming. I hope I'm able to get it up for you before you do your trip across the mountains. A couple tips for you would be to slow right down if there is turbulence, keep some friction on the cyclic to help dampen any extra movements in the wind, and keep your cyclic arm well supported on your leg. The less you move the cyclic in wind the better. I will try to make this video in the next couple of weeks for you.
Pilot Yellow you just made my day! That is awesome news! Thanks and keep up the great videos! (Was that too many exclamations 😁) Also, if you could get Sevier County Choppers on the Guimbal train that would be awesome. I expect a lot from you don’t I. Thanks for the upcoming video though. A lot of us upcoming pilots would appreciate it. There just isn’t enough out there to train on mountain flying and how to pic the best route, altitude or how to read the winds and best placement for the helo in regards to the winds.
I am not a rotor guy......are you assuming that on this approach and departure "most" of the time if you loose an engine you are going into the trees? Seems like a slow low approach and you loose and engine you are going in?
Yes there are times as a helicopter pilot you need to trust your engine. We like to stay outside the height velocity curve as much as possible but at the end of the day, helicopters were designed for a reason.
Thousands of vibrating parts hanging from a shaft connected to spinning wings that are beating the air into submission... just to go to a beautiful place in a way no sane person would think of. 😁 Ain't life wonderful! 👍
Heli's are way more complex mechanically(i.e $$$), way more gas guddler, and way harder to learn to fly--unfortunately! If cost were same I would choose heli every time.

Absolutely stunning scenery. I could not imagine a more beautiful place to do pilot training.
Nice video, man! But i dont think I'd put a piston ship into that first spot, i was clenched up watching lol!
me also xd too much risk for me
Love these vids. Tks for taking the time to make them and upload them for our pleasure.
This guy is the swayne martin of helis

Not to forget the awesome view of the place you land at your area!!
well, I'm going to become one of your students ... you are an amazing flight instructor... you enjoy seeing others succeed and learn from your instruction ...
Nicely done. On the video, the spot looked just half the size of the rotor diameter!
Absolutely awesome
I Really Like Your Helicopter 🚁 Videos Pilot 👨✈️ Yellow 🚁😎🚁
Good dear 👍

Amazing spots to practice!
Wow what a spot to learn to fly!
Such an awesome instructor!!

Great Video. Great Job Graham !
Unreal great video once again! Great job flying!
Outstanding instruction and piloting. If only I had the $$$.
SmarT Odd thanks
wow you could take some EPIC panorama photos...blow them up into huge framed prints and sell them ☺
Such a cool video!

Well it's good to have you here either way.
i like . very nice flying
amazing locations

He’s a Very Good Helicopter 🚁 Pilot 👨✈️ You’re Teaching 🚁😎🚁
You should have added a GoPro on the horizontal stabilizer for a better view while landing.

Damn those spots are incredible, not easy to land in those i'm sure. Is there any specific limitations to the bank and pitch angles?
Because of the fully articulated rotor system it is able to handle any pitch or attitude you give it pretty much. Within reason of course.
oh that's pretty cool, i guess that is comes in handy up in the mountains.
Yes it does for sure.

How do you like editing on the MacBook? What program are you using?
I am loving it so far. I am using Adobe Premier for editing which is what I am used to so that's good. At least not everything has changed.
What is your website ? I want to go look when your classes begin
For a guy that is used to 5000' minimum paved strip to get the jet in and out of, i was like whaaaaaaaaaaat?!! LOL
LOL that's awesome.
that's why I gave up airplane flying. Airports are damm boring.
I kept saying your going to land WHERE on that first spot. Awesome.
HI could you tell me why helicopter lessons are so much more than fixed wing thanks

Maintenance and operational casts. Not to mention the purchase price of helicopters v.s. Boreplanes, sorry airplanes
what a horrible view from your office.......great vid....
Yea!!! Canuckleheads won over Blackhawk 5 to 2 😢 Too late in the season...sorry...you were talking bout ice?
