I have had a hyperstart condition, I replaced the key switch and ignition switch, each one at a time- did not fix! It seems not to spring back after trying to start I presume there is a spring mechanism in the housing that is catching or not fully springing back. I ordered part hope the last of the three ingnition parts fixes my problem! Nice video.
thank you for your video! A question about the switch with the toothed white wheel inside that fits on the underside of the ignition housing. You warned about not moving, and I've been careful to avoid moving it, but I would still like to know... what is the proper positon (clocking) in the switch when reassembling everything. My ignition cylinder housing was destroyed badly in an attempted theft, so I'm left questioning everything including the correct orientation of that toothed gear in that switch.

What is that tool called that you used to compress the big spring in the bottom to release the split ring?

With 1,000 steps from start to finish, and tools from the Enterprise, it seems like it would be easier to build a human being from scratch using rubber bands and paper clips!! Now I don't mind a challenge from time to time, but if I have to use the Einstein principle, and get a DNA injection from Socrates and Plato, for something that I can pay for, I probably will do just that!! And Pay to have that service done! But I'm still going to check the price of having that procedure done.. before I make a definitive decision. All in all wonderful presentation very comprehensive and for those who want to undertake it, more power to them!!😎

Can I use this method for a 2007 Silverado?
I have a question. I put a New emission Switch In my 2008 Chevy troubleser. It did not work right now. Everything's locked up completely. I have to take everything apart. Now
some buddy cut my my air bag wires to the clock wheel can i just solder them and be done or do i have too tear the hole apart ?
What happens. If the clock spring spins. Someone else pulled my steering wheel off and didn't tape the clock spring.. I'm trying to put back together but it won't line up right? Now what? Do I need to replace it or can it be realigned?
What's the name of the sensor or purpose of the woe you had to rotate to pull off out of the top of the housing
swapped key, switch and housing on my envoy from another similar car, starts fine but even after 3 cycles of 10 min, the security light is still on...afraid to drive far?

Does the wheel post to move freely when the key not in ?
Hey, brother, my name is Christopher. Everything's good so far my issue is. I got a brand new key cylinder in a malfunction. It won't turn forward. So I had to buy a new housing. Not being Able to turn the key. What kind of effect is that on me If you know. Thank you for your video.

Hello I have a question the only part that I have to replace is the plastic casing underneath the Ignition that you just pulled off forward, If that is it can I skip straight to that step?

I broke the turn lock clip of the main wire harness as shown at 11:04 in the disassembly. Does anyone know what this is technically called so i can order a replacement?

Ignition park lock

The video doesn't show setting up the park/lock cable or the metal cylinder with a spring that sets the gear in the housing.

10:06 My problem is that the key won't insert completely into the lock cylinder. The cylinder has to be in the Start position to be removed, but I can't even get the key inserted.
(The key could not be inserted into the lock cylinder.) I was able to replace the lock cylinder. I thought I was going to have to drill out the old cylinder because removing it required truing the key to Start. I ended up forcibly turning the cylinder to Start with a pair of channel lock pliers. Then I could insert a pin in the hole on top of the cylinder and pull it out.
