Amazing training and so willing to follow commands for treats! Please, please create a training/tutorial I would think that it would get so many hits. Dog and trainer are amazing!!!!
What a great dog! She looks healthy, happy and entertained! LOL!! Key to a long life. I've got a 12 year old black and tan who still thinks she's 2 and who rules the house with her tiny thunder paws!
I wish you the best of luck on your training, and thank you for your comment. As far as how I taught mine all her tricks, it was all about consistency. When I teach her new tricks I make sure she has already had a chance to get out all of her energy by running at the park. Then we do 3 sessions a day at 5 mins per session. Usually within 4-7 days of that regimen she figures out when I'm looking for. I'd also suggest to only give positive praise and practice patience. Hope this helps!!
Not sure if you still read the comments, but I was wondering what your work schedule is like? Thinking about getting a min pin, but I will likely have a 9-5 work schedule and wondering if it's possible.
So sweet. We had to put our precious baby down a few nights ago. Loved him sooo much. Miss him terribly. Min Pins are the best. Great guard dogs, funny, sweet. Just the best. You've done a great job training your baby.
Best dogs ever!!! They're so loyal so smart, they would die for you, and oh they're such gentlemen with female dogs, was so fun seeing mine doing that. I miss him so much. God bless all dogs
Great to see the close relationship you 2 have. No harshness and she obviously is eager to please you. The tone of your voice and gentleness should encourage others watching this that you can control an energetic dog. Made my day.
I have commented before and you are modest with your responses but as I watch the clip and show it to others I must say again, what you accomplishment here is incredible.
Sounds like your pup has a great and understanding owner! Hearing how he just does every trick he knows when the food comes out must be soooo cute. Keep up the good work!
This was so wonderful and so inspiring! I have a 10 year old Minpin and he is such a wonderful, sweet, boy. He knows some things but I haven't had the time until recently to work on new tricks. Watching you two inspired me to start up again now that I have the time. We don't let the "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" saying keep us from learning new things! Thank you so much for sharing this. Your tricks, your bond, and of course your sweet pup!
You and your lil girl are amazing. She's so intelligent!! Defiantly going to share and save as a favorite:) gave me great ideas to try to teach my pups. Thank you so much for sharing this video. So wonderful to see such love and time given to this talented angel.
We just adopted a stray from a shelter, The DNA test came back today that he is a miniature pinscher. He has similar personality like your dog. Your VDO gives me hope. THANK YOU!
Thanks for sharing this video with us. Your dog rocks! I know you spent a lot of time with her to conquer that many tricks. I wish more dog owners were like you sir. I have 3 minpins and I train them separately for the most part to eliminate any distractions. Patience is the key
I remember waching this video many years ago, to help me train my puppy, a golden retriever. although he was already 4 years old by the time of this video. I wanted to teach him new tricks. My dog is gone now, and I have a chihuahua mix now, and he's a whole lot different than my past dog. he will check your hand if you have tricks and he will do them all at once LOL . anyway this video is lovely and it brings up memories. Thank you for keeping it on.
Wooow what a great friend!! My boy Moto is an absolute twin of her. Minus the unbelievable control you have. Great great job you two ! Such a close and special bond rite there!!
Your MinPin is incredible!!!!!!! Great video..Our family had a minpin for 13 years.. We miss our Sabre..you have inspired me to get another... Thank you so much
Thank you for the comment! So the first step to getting Lex to walk on her hands was getting her on the couch. I then lured her with food to walk her front paws off the couch and onto the ground, and keep her back legs on the couch. Then click. Step 2, was to get her to step away from the couch with her front legs, just enough so she had to kick her back legs off the couch, then click right when back paws left the couch. We practiced 5 mins at a time, 3 times a day, and she got it in a week
omg thats so cute. I have my jack similarly trained so that when my friends bring other friends, i always have to put on a show. I just recently rescued a min pinscher (yesterday) and was looking for just indications on feeding and ran into this magnificent video. I didn't know they could be so smart. I will start training this weekend. I hope she's even just 1/4 as smart as yours and I will be super happy!! Great job!!
Really a beautiful dog! I have a 12 year old black and tan min pin named Gus. He's a sweetie, but the "ttricks" I've taught him are more like a) don't bark at every SINGLE movement made outside the window; b) if you pee in the house do it on a puppy pad. But I got him when he was 7 as a rescue dog, so I'm thrilled he learned those things at least!
Inspired again by your success I have successfully taught my 6 year old Minpin to lay down on commend. Ok so there is a long way to go lol and it is a small success but I'll take it! What I find amusing about how Minpins perform their trucks is WHEN they "Get It", they perform them with abrupt intensity.
This is AWESOME! I just got a min pin rat terrier mix and she's sooo smart. I've only had her for about 2wks and I've already taught her to sit, lay down, up, and rollover. Her name is Lucy. She's really attentive to my hands I've noticed when I give her commands. I hope I can train Lucy to do more. Kudos to u and your beautiful dog.
My jack Russell terrier has just watched this all the way through. She was fascinated. She does some of the tricks done here but there are some good ones to try out.
Thanks for watching and I think that male or female, the min pin breed takes a very patient and innovative owner. It took about a year to get a full repertoire of tricks, but we are always tryin new tricks too, so the training never stops. Clicker training was great for lex, maybe it might b helpful with your new pup. Good luck.
Min pins are some of the most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. They will literally be at your hills 24/7 to assist you and be with you and protect you. I always thought maybe they have more of a “pack dog” instinct and treat you like a member of the pack. Mine will follow you around everywhere and it hates being alone for a minute. It will go after anything without fear to. Only bad thing.
She is so amazing. I was in awe. I have a male version of her and I'm not saying he's not smart but he don't listen like that. She us absolutely a joy to watch.
You have done an outstanding job! I have taught many dogs many tricks but my Minpin who may be more intelligent than all the rest has proved to be a bit of a challenge. I am afraid this time that the limiting factor intelligence category may be mine, lol. Your clip has inspired me to give it another go. Great work jmarti!
Your dog is just awesome! I can tell you and her jave a great relationship. I will definitely take note of the tricks you have taught her and try it on my own Prazsky Krysarik ;-)
great little dog & a great trainer! this was so fun to watch! my pin only knows sit, beg, speak, gimmie 5, down & leave it. they are so smart and fun to train-them being so food motivated helps, too. she's a very pretty girl with a cute little eraser nose :)
Awesome work with your minpin , they are such amazing dogs !!! we truly love the breed ! we have two but they are not that well trained but I always keep working with them because they love participate in everything we do :)
This is impressive - shows me the potential of my minipin. I just got her on saturday, she only 9 weeks old and has never been trained but already I've taught her "Paw" or "Shake". They are very intelligent dogs, my favourite beed. I hope that one day I can teach her these tricks.
Really?! Yours has the pink nose too?!?!? U sure have a special one on your hands. As for the obedience, it was A LOT of time, energy, and patience. I started to teach her to heel immediately after I got her and kept up with training 3x a day for her first year. Just a heck of a lot of dedication. My real close friends say I'm obsessed, and that I treat her better than my human friends. And theyre proby right, but dogs embody unconditional love like no other!!
Its great to hear your concern, that means you pup is gonna have a great home! I honestly don't remember the portions I gave her as a pup, but your vet should definitely have that answer. Also the puppy food should have suggestions on the bag. Feeding 2 to 3 times a day is a good idea when they are young. What I can suggest is not to over feed. Min pins are notorious for over eating. Feeding directly from you hand is cool too, cuz it reinforces your roll as provider.
Her name is Lex. I use her dog food for training. I don't "free feed" her; so I don't use a bowl for her to eat whenever she wants. Some people naturally think their dog should just GET food cause they are part of the family, problem is, dogs don't think like humans. I learned this from reading a Cesar Milan book. He explains how and why this practice strengthens the dog/owner bond. One reason is that Lex feels good about herself that she EARNS her food! Its all about the pack leader mentality.
WOW...Just WOW..I just picked up my 3 month old female MinPin (LEVI)...You are such an inspiration for this breed. You have managed to bring the very best out of this amazing animal. You should be very proud of yourself. I enjoyed all the tips you left on the feedback. PLEASE PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ON LEXI'S JOURNEY :)
What an awesome min pin and owner :) I have a min pin mix (shelter rescue), but darn if I can see anything but min pin in him, both looks and attitude. Have you thought about doing agility with Lex? With the wonderful bond you've established already, she seems well suited to doing great things with agility.
I have a fawn mini pin myself and between the tricks you've shown here and my dogs tricks and intelligence level I do believe they are the smartest most adorable dogs on the planet
The best tip I have for a min pin owner when trick training is to have a visual idea in your mind as to how your dog will perform the trick. Reward anything that resembles your mind's visualization. Your dog will be happy to continue the learning process if it knows it is doing good (the good is the reward/treat/play). The min pin learns very fast so it is necessary to reward any desired behavior/trick immediately to clearly mark a job well done.
She is adorable and very intelligent and I love the tricks but my favorite is when she does the trick and you say VERY NICEEEEE haha I cant help but giggle I am picking my min pin pup up from her breeder today so this was helpful =)
my girl min pin played down and watched this whole video and at the very end when you said crawl, she crawled up to the ipad and then looked back at me wagging her nub for a treat! WTF!? HA HA!!! That was the coolest things she's ever done. I'm amazed right now. I didn't even think she'd watch the damn video. Thanks for posting this man. I've taught her a little over half of these tricks and I'll post a video reply when she gets them all right. It's hard to train them with 3 (mom, dad & daughte
I'm looking at getting a min pin. I was wondering what your training techniques were to get her to behave so well. If you could let me know what all you did to train her so well I would really appreciate it,
We have a black and tan Min Pin and she is very clever too but this is beyond impressive! This is one very clever doggy! And one very clever teacher! Min Pins are just so eager to please, the only thing is everything they do has to be done in fast forward with them LOL
just came across your video. Nice job! My liitle Min Pin named Harley is doing very well with his tricks but I gotta say your Min Pin is a little more advanced. Great work!
wow! impressive! my min pin knows some tricks (sit, down, wait, twirl, take a bow, speak, high five, wave, etc) but he gets sooo CRAZY FOR TREATS, it was hard for him to keep learning. when he knows it's treat/trick time, he just starts doing every trick he knows. he's still smart though. i'm still always told that he is very well behaved and trained compared to other min pins people have known.
Beautiful Min Pin. She’s super smart. I just recently got a male one. Would love to teach him some of the tricks that you taught yours. Do you have any training videos?
Oh...ok. I have ordered a copy of the 101 tricks book you mentioned in these comments and hopefully it will have some good advice for me. My min pin was born four weeks ago and I collect her at 8 weeks of age from the breeder. She is a red min pin and I'm excited to teach my new buddy some tricks. I am a little worried about how much to feed her though as I have no idea howmuch they should be eating at 8 weeks, 3 months, 6months etc.what is your advice on food portions, sorry 4 all the questions!
My 2 min pins don't do tricks but to be 7ish months old, they're reasonably smart and recognize their names. They got a lot of things locked down at a young age and I can imagine the potential they have when older.
Im sorry to hear about what happened. I cant imagine how tough it must be for you. He looked like a very lively pup from the video with your cat. Im wishing you peace through this trying time for you.
Thank you for sharing this video. My best friend Kyra a red mom pin passed away after 15 years together. She was the cleverest dog + so eager to learn. We practiced all kinds of cute tricks, “bang bang” was my favorite. She would dramatically feign dying. Mom pins are the best
You are a very patience trainer . I thing youre the best tranier for these breeds. you must be very patience. Nice work. This is very beatiful and nice work you did . I like this video. Nice .
I hear you about the house training. Min pins are notorious for being tough to potty train. Just know you are not alone. I went through it too. Best feedback I can give you is to make the biggest deal possible when your min pin gets it right. I used to jump up and down, and praise Lex like crazy when she would do her business in the right place. Best of luck
Great job! Now come and train my adopted min pin LOL! She doesn't even listen to me when it's time to come back into the house from the backyard! I'm working on it though.
My min pin already learned how to sit, stay and lay down in just two days. But she will not do it right away. Sometimes I need to repeat the command a few times. She's still very smart though!
My mini pin Jazzy is 11 mts old, we've had her since she was 6 weeks old and I've always said she will do anything for a snack lol and she does. Basically in her own time of course and when she wants to, this dog is awesome seeing him/her do all those trick reaffirms that I really need to get our Jazzy trained. Way much bigger job than I could handle!
Gus sounds so awesome!! and like a very alert min pin. Lex loves to bark at every single random sound she hears too! Sometimes she even wakes up from her sleep to give out one bark, just to let us know that shes listening!!
I am big fan of min pin and Doberman.......Your little girl is awsome.....I never train my 2 Min pin but they are very very smart......Specially when is time for dinner ! Lol.(named Princess 4 yrs(black/fire) and Ralf 13yrs(brown /fire)... Thank you for sharing your nice video.......:)
this is the Einstein of Min Pins. My little guy is dumber than a rock. But i love him so .....
I feel you...
Mine died but she was dumb kinda too x3
i have same :D
I have 3 that are so smart they fake being dumb as a rock ... and it works great for them
sorry for your loss. my little old man died last memorial day. 3 months after i posted my comment. He was 16 years old.
Amazing training and so willing to follow commands for treats! Please, please create a training/tutorial I would think that it would get so many hits. Dog and trainer are amazing!!!!
Yes! Please share how to train our min pins like that.
ZczaM
What a great dog! She looks healthy, happy and entertained! LOL!! Key to a long life. I've got a 12 year old black and tan who still thinks she's 2 and who rules the house with her tiny thunder paws!
I need a dog like this in my life. Thank you for sharing how well-trained she has become. GOALS.
I wish you the best of luck on your training, and thank you for your comment. As far as how I taught mine all her tricks, it was all about consistency. Beautiful dog, awesome training! YOU deserve a treat! LOL 😊
Amen! I'm working on these things with my min pin Chihuahua.
The longer I live with a min pin the more impressive this is to me. I'm not smart enough to train a dog who has zero desire to please me. Great work!
Lol no kidding! My minpins only trick is to tell me to go F myself
Great to see the close relationship you 2 have. No harshness and she obviously is eager to please you. The tone of your voice and gentleness should encourage others watching this that you can control an energetic dog.
Made my day.

It's impressive to see the love in the eyes of this dog like the love in the voice that gives the congratulations

Sounds like your pups have a great home environment, and AWESOME owner!! Keep up the great work. Your pups are worth it!!
She is so cute and u trained her very well! nice job dude, she's amazing!!!
she is simply wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! great training, great video
Amazing! My min pin is so stubborn it was a challenge to teach him the basics like stay and return.
SierraLizLife same with my min pin she’s so stubborn
Do you guys give treats. I can only imagine repeating. But I think it's worth the shoot. 😸
My jack Russell terrier has just watched this all the way through. She was fascinated. She does some of the tricks done here but there are some good ones to try out.

Sounds like you and your lil one are great for each other! And I agree that min pins are delightful additions to the family and awesome best friends!!
What a great connection you guys have. Min pins are pretty sweet.
That video was AMAZING! Fantastic to see how in tune she is with your commands!
OMG awesome!
She Jumps like a cat! its so high!

She looks like the most obedient little deer ever 😂❤️ So sweet and well trained
She is so amazing. I was in awe. I have a male version of her and I'm not saying he's not smart but he don't listen like that. She us absolutely a joy to watch.
You have done an outstanding job! I have taught many dogs many tricks but my Minpin who may be more intelligent than all the rest has proved to be a bit of a challenge. I am afraid this time that the limiting factor intelligence category may be mine, lol. Your clip has inspired me to give it another go. Great work jmarti!
Your dog is just awesome! I can tell you and her jave a great relationship. I will definitely take note of the tricks you have taught her and try it on my own Prazsky Krysarik ;-)
amazing training and a beautiful dog
great little dog & a great trainer! this was so fun to watch! my pin only knows sit, beg, speak, gimmie 5, down & leave it. they are so smart and fun to train-them being so food motivated helps, too. she's a very pretty girl with a cute little eraser nose :)
She is so smart! You did a great job training her.
These dogs look like little deer. Looks like a lot of fun.
Awesome work with your minpin , they are such amazing dogs !!! we truly love the breed ! we have two but they are not that well trained but I always keep working with them because they love participate in everything we do :)

Beautiful Min Pin you have there. Awesome tricks as well. This gives me hope I can train my Min Pin to do more tricks.
Thanks for your kind feedback Karen. And may the force be with you in your training sessions!
Its great to hear your concern, that means you pup is gonna have a great home! I honestly don't remember the portions I gave her as a pup, but your vet should definitely have that answer. This is purely amazing! Min Pins are very smart dogs, i have one myself. She definitely keeps me on my toes! :)
I have a fawn mini pin myself and between the tricks you've shown here and my dogs tricks and intelligence level I do believe they are the smartest most adorable dogs on the planet

Well done! Our min pin can't do a fraction of the things your beautiful dog can, but she's an awesome dog anyway :) Best breed in the world.
my girl min pin played down and watched this whole video and at the very end when you said crawl, she crawled up to the ipad and then looked back at me wagging her nub for a treat! WTF!? HA HA!!! This is just amazing, you are obviously both very talented!
What a nice compliment, and thank you much. And you are so right, Lex and I have spent all kinds of time together training, and she takes to it well.
My dog likes to whatch this on the big screen.
Your comment is one of the best ever. Lex and I are so happy! Thank you
I'm looking at getting a min pin. I was wondering what your training techniques were to get her to behave so well. If you could let me know what all you did to train her so well I would really appreciate it,
Im so happy to hear that! Sounds like you have a wonderful puppy for life!!
my mini jumps around like a deer and its adorable when she does it 😂❤
We have a black and tan Min Pin and she is very clever too but this is beyond impressive! This is one very clever doggy! And one very clever teacher! Min Pins are just so eager to please, the only thing is everything they do has to be done in fast forward with them LOL
Great Job ! Specially the variety of tricks.👍
This dog jumps really high! What a cute girl.
That's awesome! Beautiful dog, great training.
Amazing. You have trained your dog really well. Any recommendations on books or videos to train for those tricks?
just came across your video. Nice job! My liitle Min Pin named Harley is doing very well with his tricks but I gotta say your Min Pin is a little more advanced. Great work!
Thanks so much Deeb! I bet Harley is a joy, and sounds like you're a caring and receptive owner. Lucky dog!
wow! impressive! my min pin knows some tricks (sit, down, wait, twirl, take a bow, speak, high five, wave, etc) but he gets sooo CRAZY FOR TREATS, it was hard for him to keep learning. when he knows it's treat/trick time, he just starts doing every trick he knows. he's still smart though. i'm still always told that he is very well behaved and trained compared to other min pins people have known.
you are so right, they are super smart. But yours sounds out of this world smart. To just see it once and copy it. That is remarkable!
Awesome job training the dog. Very cute! :)
This is awsome! I'm impressed! You both did a wonderful job! Wow!!
I LOVE mini pins! Have one named Emma and she is the sweetest...loves to snuggle and lick! They are very smart dogs too!
Awesome job you two! Thanks for sharing! wow! My MIN PIN stubborn
My 2 min pins don't do tricks but to be 7ish months old, they're reasonably smart and recognize their names.
They got a lot of things locked down at a young age and I can imagine the potential they have when older.
Min Pins are amazing little creatures. We are blessed with two little guys.
This video is awesome, what a clever little dog she is. It seems she knows exactly what to do - before you ask her to :-)
Im sorry to hear about what happened.
You should go on some kind of talent show with her. She's amazing smart dog,and you seem like a pretty calm person and great dog trainer!
Wow! Amazing work. Both the dog and the trainer. I lika dis alot.
Smartest , sweetest baby omg !
Gus sounds so awesome!! and like a very alert min pin. Lex loves to bark at every single random sound she hears too! Sometimes she even wakes up from her sleep to give out one bark, just to let us know that shes listening!!
