  • PCSX2's Nightly build seems to be getting worse in running Persona 3 and FES. That's what the weird effects that you see in the footage.
The Reaper in the Original version of P3 seems to have a handful of differences when compared to its later counterparts in terms of stats, HP and more. But the general strategy everyone is aware of is the same.
Problem is, getting a Critical from shock (And fear) is apparently not guaranteed in this version. So there is a bit of an element of RNG involved with the fight in that sense.
For reference, the Reaper in the original version resists everything except almighty by 50%, have 66 stats to everything except Ag (This is maxed), and has 4,444 HP.
While the Reaper in FES/P3P resists everything except almighty by 75%, have 66 stats to everything except Ma and Ag (These are maxed), and has 5K HP.
Overall they are similar, but the Reaper is a tad less consistent to beat in the original version due to the inconsistency of critting regardless of shock being applied as you can see in the video.

I'm kinda curious (and never play P3 to begin with). Why you didn't let Aki do the "All-out Attack" till the last one? Does he give disadvantage compare to Junpei and Mitsuru?

The original version of the One More system (Which the original version of P3 and FES uses) makes it so standing up takes a turn. I do not allow Akihiko to use an All Out Attack so that the Reaper wastes his turn standing up so that he cannot attack us at all. Ergo, stunlocking him to death. This is a common tactic in both the original and FES to anything that has a weakness or anything that can be shocked.

@@bothdoorscares3878 Hey, Thanks for the humble explanation. So you're intended to gave Reaper a hell by not giving it room to breathe.👍🏻
Keep up the good work bro. Subscribed 🤝🏻

Something interesting I noticed was that Shock in Vanilla P3 is not guaranteed critical hit where it is only increased critical hit chance.

Also kind of curious, does Glove Master on Akihiko double his Fist Weapon damage output in vanilla P3, since FES and onward seems to increase the damage output by roughly 1.25 times.

I'm not so sure. What I will say though is that the other passives (Such as High Counter and Regenerate) are mostly the same between versions.
Another odd thing I noticed is that Armor of Light's resist magic variant does not remove weaknesses (Like P5's reduce magic damage armor)

@@bothdoorscares3878 So High Counter in Vanilla P3 does not have a 50% activation chance? Interesting.
Also if the Armor of Light(+Resist Magic) does not remove weaknesses, does that mean other type of armor with attached Resist effect won't remove weaknesses either?

Yes. First thing I tested, that's for sure. Wish it is 50% since I'm in the process of recreating that video with 14 turns to kill Elizabeth.
As for the resist x armors, no. Resist x equipment still do their job. Only armor of light doesn't. Maybe it's a bug that they rectified, not sure. The original has some weird bugs in terms of gameplay. Another example is that the party members sometimes will not tell that they have located the stairs if you use split up.
