  • This is the first time joining the forward wing spars together using the 3D printed wing mount for the Large Scale L-1011 RC Airliner. It's so cool to finally get an idea of what the real world size of the plane will be!
Can't wait to get this build video done so that I can show you all this epic build in it's fully assembled state. The engineering challenges that came with this wing design have been a significant undertaking but very happy with the results so far.
I designed this model airplane using Fusion 360. The wood spars and ribs in this video were cut on my 100w 60x90 Co2 laser cutter from 3mm birch plywood. The spar mounting bracket were 3D printed on the Bambu X1-Carbon using Matterhackers NylonX.

Not a critique, but have you done destructive stress testing on the 3d printed parts? If my wings are only going to not-fold thanks to a 3d printed part (CF or not), I'd print a few extras and stress test them to failure. Look forward to the video! Love the series!

When will the part be finished?

More concerned with how the cf attaches to the wings versus how the cf attaches to the cf.

    No it's not genius.
