    Had so much fun at the show today. I've never seen so much amazing history in one place at one time in all my life. Thanks for showing me around and introducing me to the big boys, Leland! It was a pleasure finally meeting you and your wife in person

      Yeah, we always try to make this show. Taking it all in on video really helps for review.

    These shows make me wonder what’s modern and what’s authentic.

    My Uncle lived in Nevada,I bet he had enough bead's to fill a metal coffee can. He was always walking around out in the desert. When the bead's would roll through the sand they would stop and remain at the top of a little pyramid.

      My uncle lived in Nevada, he found a hilltop covered in blue beads, he claimed that the hill appeared blue from a distance before he got there, he mounted 5000 of those on a strand for his mother as she was a native of nv.

    If you ever get to Rawlings Wyoming they have the Larsen collection of artifacts at the Bank of Commerce one of the most beautiful collections I've seen. It worth the stop. Peace

    How do you tell a real ancient piece from an expert knapper?

    • @kentdeneal1188
      @kentdeneal1188 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Spend 300 hours trying to knap flint yourself and you will begin to see the diffrence

    Its a shame the amount of fakes out there. This show was filled with them.

      You really don't know 4 sure unless you examine them all. But river bed artifacts cannot be duplicated.

      One table was split up, he has authentic relics. However he was selling reproduction knives which he marked as such.

    How can u tell a real arow head from a fake/recent made one? I mean, ones that are not damaged should be VERY RARE as they would use it until it broke then get rid of it and make another. Yes some would get lost......but most have to be recent made ones by someone....... I mean, i make 20 in diff styles, bary them in my yard for a few months or even a year to take the shine off the fresh cleves....and BOOM, $100 plus each!

      We put them under rigorous testing, i.e. black light, and microscopic evaluation.

      I'm taking a course in Oct. I will then be credentialed to catch any fakes that do try and make it into shows.
