    I mostly shoot stills, but I would say that if you are using the Note 20 Ultra and the light is low, make sure you stay on the 108MP main sensor. The other two have significantly more noise and less sensitivity. This is one place where the 8K mode makes some sense. Low light video shot at 8k on the larger sensor and then cropped down will likely be better than using the periscope zoom. Even for stills the main sensor is better when the light is not perfect. The biggest flaw that I see is the inability to focus close even at wide angle. I know this is not fixable short of doing surgery on the camera module itself, but what were they thinking. My old Note 8 did better at close up ranges. That said, this is the first phone I have used where I could see more in the photos than I could with my eyes. Maybe someone will produce a add-on lens to make the wide angle camera work up close or make the main sensor wider angle, or something.

  • @incee_netinai
    @incee_netinai 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    About the rolling shutter your theory about sensor size is correct. Smaller sensors tend to have a faster readout, thus less noticable rolling shutter.

    Great video. Some tips from Note20 Ultra user for transferring files.
    1. Note20 has USB type C 3.2 port.
    2. Uses UFS 3.1 storage which is about 10 times faster than an SD card if you want to transfer files.
    3. You can plus in Samsung SSD, for example, T7 which also supports USB 3.2 and save your files on the drive.
    4. Note20 also has a Micro SD card slot up to 1TB, so whenever you want you can just take out the SD card and plug it into your PC, instant transfer.
    Not to mention, you can directly record videos on the SD card.

      or just wifi 6 with link to windows, wifi direct over a hotspot or another solution you can get in real world something like 100 mb/s and in optimized setups up to 350 mb/s that's like transfering 30 GB in 2 to 5 minutes.

So now it can only be used as a tablet. Can't decide what phone I want now. I've been a big Samsung fan boy this whole time, but I'm really upset about what they did. I was going to wait until next year to buy the next flagship, but now I don't really want to reward their bad behavior with a sale. I'm pretty upset about it.

As a mac user its super super super frustrating to have to use this, but until Apple and Google start playing nice...its just the way it is right now. You can get log footage type in LG flagships phones. Plus don't bash phones that much, Plus that's your fault that you don't know how to transfer data

    I suppose you use a Mac, which is why you need additional software for cable transfer from Android. On Samsung it's called 'SmartSwitch' or 'Android File Transfer Mac' for Android in general. Hope it helps

    • @htnowpro
      @htnowpro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, android file transfer to Mac is simple , pick the files you want and transfer. I usually store my phone projects on the SD card. Makes it easier to find for editing.

      @@htnowpro Does he (TH-camr) know it accepts SD cards? or did I miss it in the video... Wondering why transfer via cloud or cable if he could've popped in a SD card

      @@SirAaG27 my guess is he doesn't know. Or....my note 9 wouldn't work out of the box to android file transfer to my imac. My S8 worked fine, I had to uninstall so samsung apps and reinstall android transfer. Finally got it working. Thought it was my Note 9 causing the problem since all I did was change phones.

    I didn't see you mention use of Filmic Pro app, which would give the Note some latitude at higher bit rate, at least then we would know phone was pushed to the max and compare results. Right now this looks pretty poor from the stock Pro app

    There's HDR 10+ capability for the note. Why haven't you tried it? You can post process the video on that format

    Buy a USB sd card adapter. Use the USB-c to USB connector that comes with the phone for smart switch and plug the card reader into that. Boom transfer files.

      With the note 20 ultra, I doubt they've been able to do it now, but it's seems like with these new massive sensors, they aren't able include the on-sensor DRAM with a third layer.
      With how quickly they're advancing other aspects, I doubt it's a current goal of theirs atm.....the non ultra S20s & Note 20s still have it tho.
      I'm pretty sure they state it somewhere on their site.....anyways tho, it's still the best Hybrid one you'll find out there.

    Whew, so much photography terminology, haha. I am by no means a photography expert or even consider myself a novice one. Far from it actually! Lol. Learning everyday, haha.
    PC is just plug and play and you can access your files easily off the phone with File Explorer. On MacOS there's a software to download, Android File Transfer. When you download it, it allows you to browse files on the root directory of the phone. Sometimes it can be hit and miss with the connection though. But then again I had a MacBook Air from 2012 and sketchy cables at the time, so 🤷🏻‍♂️ not sure which, if any that brought up my connection issues, lol.
