Like, run up up b, dtilt up b, utilt up b. Why? Because it has so much knockback, even at low percents. It is SO tilting to be sent flying at 5% and then have to repeatedly fight through the shotputs just to get sent across the map all over again. You'll have to trust me on this one haha. Also, having this high recovery is huge for being able to drop zone spike (i.e. run off stage -> down air) and edge guard in general. You'll die with any other up special. Also, going to ledge with a hitbox every time is really nice- so that is down b from above, or up b upward then downward if you are slightly below ledge. Lastly, using side b against a wall to get a little height is nice too, like to bounce up to the ledge. So when you're jumping back you can side b just below the ledge and then he'll flip up and grab it. MII BRAWLER IS SO FUN.

As the designated Mii Brawler of my group, this pleases me, and I only have to change up and down special. Thanks for this, it'll be a nice surprise for the boys this weekend!
I use all these , except headbutt I have the faint jump, for 2 reasons. 1. You get out of any non true combo easy and reset neutral. 2. It allows Mii brawler to edgeguard and still recover even if you miss. Also in neutral it's very fast catch people jumping and you will kill them like 120 it will send horizontally.
If you didnt know if the opponent is near the edge and u use down b it locks them and kills both of u so if your a stock ahead it's a great way to get an easy win
This genuinely works. I don't have a switch, but I usually play with a friend who does and I won 4 out of the 10 games we played. To put it in perspective, I usually only win once or twice against him...
Don't combo Nair into down b and don't combo jab lock into down b. Fsmash is way stronger for the jab lock and if you hit weak nair you'd rather combo that into an up-tilt or grab. Down-b is good but only because it has fast aerial start-up and it breaks shield
i've learnt and I fully agree with this. Thank you for making this clear. Though, Nair down b can work but at lower percents so it's better to do down tilt unless you're fighting pit and it's near the ledge cuz then it's a kill confirm lol.
@@DKbill If the nair makes the opponent slide off the stage then it doesn't combo technically. I'm sad because I hit weak nair near ledge a lot and they just fall below the stage and I can't combo into anything.
I’ve recently picked up the mii brawler and realized how much potential this character actually has lol. The shotput and up b is a nasty build lol. The side b choice and down b choice were smart picks tho. I have noticed how much combo potential down b has as with up b. We need a video explaining how to professionally play this character lol
yo this character is mad fun and definitely super underrated. I am loving this character and keep innovating as I go. Every time I land the down b on my friend I give him that look like "you already know i teach that in the video". I might have to make a legit guide on how to play him in neutral, advantage, disadvantage, edgeguarding etc.
Sword is Gale strike, Chakrum, Hero spin and counter. Gunner is charge shot, arc fire(forgot the name lol), DP( forgot the name) and the bomb drops. (Vortex vs snake and shine vs other zoners) I still think the suplex and the feint jump are better for brawler though. Suplex catches ppl in platforms and has less end lag. Feint jump is amazing for recovering and break out of juggles.
Mii U I'm sorry. It means dragon punch (shoryuken) from street fighter. Which is an invincible upper cut that works as an anti air. Like megaman's up tilt. The custom move for gunner is called: "cannon jump kick".
I actually use almost the exact same moveset with Brawler. It definitely doesn't kill as early as it did in Smash 4, but you can still kill pretty early with Helicopter Kick. I realized that depending on the direction you move while using it, the angle it sends the opponent at changes (moving forward = horizontal, moving back = vertical). Idk if this was a thing in 4, but it's a lot more noticeable now than it was then. It can also kill at 60% at ledge, but even earlier if you want to sacrifice a stock and go deep offstage. Can't blame the recovery thing though, nor the dumb early kills that Soaring Axe Kick has. That's all pretty broken, but I still prefer Helicopter Kick and stuff :P
Ok lets do this: I use 3,2,1,3 as my default Good things about all Mii brawler moves: Neutral B: 1 Shot Put - covered 2 Flashing Mach Punch - Always kills lightweight to heavy (not super heavy) characters at 100% You can't spot dodge it or perfect shield it 3 Exploding Side Kick - Super armour, slightly more powerful than Captain Falcon's Side B: 1 Onslaught - Only a reliable kill option, puts you into special fall, hits above ledge 2 Burning dropkick - Covered apart from the fact that you can escape counters 90% of the time due to recoil 3 Suplex - *tilts your opponent.* Command grab but basically impossible to kill with centre stage and puts you into special fall. You die first in the blast zone. Up B: 1 Soaring axe kick - Beats super armour with last hit unless it's neutral b armour. If you go for disrespect, *opponent dies first.* Rest is covered. 2 Helicopter kick - Better at horizontal recovery than axe kick and kills off top. 3 Thrust uppercut - Trash for recovering. Reliable kill off top if you can string up airs Down B: 1 Head-On Assault - Kills early at ledge, scoops opponents at ledge, breaks shields that have already taken minor damage. Rest is covered in the video. 2 Feint Jump - Good for recovering if you know how, great escape option in the air, and if you don't know how it works, easy to SD with 3 Counter Throw - Arguably best counter in the game, only works in front of Mii brawler, has short end lag, making recovery easier. Throws enemy behind brawler, doesn't counter energy projectiles, massive kill power depending on the attack. Grants invincibility frames that are short but can save you from final smash That's all from the brawler main! Quick synopsis on how the movesets work.
The one-head-assault sucks. It's incredible laggy, unsafe on shield, inconsistent Kill Power and inconsistent Shield Break. Looks Like a good move, but is like not that good, Feint Jump sucks just If you use BDK, but FJ is one of the best moves in the game. Incredible good recovery (better when use Air-Kick) good kill power, no helpless. With this move BDK is usless so you can change to Suplex Grab. Is good to have stage control, ignore Shield, and launch at favorable combo distance with Up-B (except Helicopter Kick, don't use this move, use 1 or 3)
I already used this moveset and I can tell you it is amazing. Combos into down B do an insane amount of damage and the shot put absolutely destroys some recoveries (especially Ganon's).
My best Mii Brawler is a rush down build, with the up special being an uppercut, and the down special being a counter. This has some serious power, and can KO pretty early, mainly around 75 to 80%.
Hey there, nice video! It's cool to see more people labbing this character but I'd like to make some points: - about helicopter kick, the kill power is defined by the direction you are holding the analog stick for the last hit (and for the last hit only, which means you can drift offstage a bit for the first hits, and then drift backwards so you won't SD, and then hold offstage just for the last hit to kill). If you hold in, it will kill never; but if you hold offstage, it kills. Really. Early. You can check this here th-cam.com/video/2064ze3a_8A/w-d-xo.html - the down B 1 is great for suicidal kills and as a surprise kill option, yeah, but if you wanna hard punish people from a lock you can just fsmash and they'll die just fine. I use 1221 by the way, it's really nice 👌
another fire dropkick user! omg! Really though, thank you so much. I want to tell you I really appreciate how kindly you're telling me this. I had no idea helicopter kick's strength could be influenced. My friend is a believer in helicopter kick and we do the ditto so I'll let him know this and I'll let him try to prove it to me ;) The thing I really like most is being able to dropzone Dair though. Doesn't feel good to me w/o that
No problem bro! That tip is actually written in the "tips" part of the game but someone had to tell me or I wouldn't notice it at all lol Also, be sure to check my channel! There's a lot of labbing there, so have fun with the knowledge 👌
I use every one of those except the Side B. I use the command grab. It's good if you can get consistent reads, but I'm definitely going to try out the drop kick after watching this. Thanks for the video.
no problem man, appreciate you keeping an open mind. The command grab side b can get some nice stuff if u keep catching them, but it's pretty hard to land when u fight better opponents, and the reward for landing it is lackluster
the counter can definitely do some interesting stuff lol. I have fun with that one. As long as your enot buying into the zss jump kick one. Idk bout that one
The counter throw kills easily at low percents because it launched them the opposite way, so f smashes like Ganon, incinaroar, and pirhrana plant are easy kill when your cornered and they try to pull a fast one on ya
I use to use Great Value Cloud Up-B but I found if you use Shot Put, you give yourself better edge guarding with Helicopter Kick since Shot Put edge guards low you will start getting enemies that recover high, then you can punish off stage with helicopter kick.
I used a lot of Brawler in 4 and I've been testing him in this game as well. I agree that that's the best moveset although 1111 is also really good too depending on how good you are at getting kills. Brawler is pretty decently slept on.
yeah, I can understand some variations. The only one I can say 100000% for sure is shotput, but I definitely believe personally the set I show here is the best ;) at high level that is. But yeah, super slept on. Dabuz puts him at high tier :o
I was Mii Brawler from very early on in this game, and this was my initial moveset and I stuck with it for a while. I finally changed down be to the ZSS-like flip jump because it simply has way more utility, the endlag is minimal if you don't commit to the second part of the attack or use it only when safe, and with the rest of this movset it turns Brawler's recovery from very good to easily top 5 in the whole game. The piledriver doesn't have nearly as much shield damage OR shield stun for how much endlag it has, its attack range is very narrow, and the startup in the air is such that you won't fool anyone worth a damn unless you do it from off the top of the screen (which I've done, and it's usually awesome). And many of the combos it can be a part of are better and more safely served using the axe kick up-b, which does an absurd amount of damage.
@@DKbill This video actually made me want to try-try the skull bash down-B, cause I got a little nostalgic for it lol. When it works, it really sends a message and there's def something to be said for using a moveset people aren't prepared for.
I'm really late to this video and I'm so glad I found it! Mii Brawler is my favorite fighter AND NO JOKE I USE THE SAME MOVESET. One thing that worth mentioning about the side B is that is SLICES momentum. If I get launched off of the stage towards the blast zone and I mash side B, I'm much more likely to avoid dying than if I were to only DI. Great video!
Moveset: NSmash:Shot Put SSmash:Burning Dropkick USmash:Soaring Axe Kick DSmash:Head-On Assault i literally use this and call it all miight because the dragon helmet & yellow captain falcon outfit looks like all might lol (pun intended)
I know a lot of people say that the airborne assault (AKA Side B) for swordfighter is laggy and reactable, but it’s the way you use it, you play a few games and you say it’s garbage in every way, like the shot put for brawler. (which I’m sorry but that is 10x better than the exploding side kick, sure it does damage but it is easy for people to break you out of it and the fact that you have zero range as a brawler most characters can outcamp you) you can do so much with airborne assault such as escape from enemies if they are pro edgeguarding, you can use it to fake out the enemy, like I play against other sword characters I side b away they chase me and I immediately forward smash or ground hero spin, works every single time, plus the fact it cannot be countered, did I catch your attention now? That’s right, when you land a hit with it, you ricochet off of the person so fast that even if you attack in a sweet spot counter, it still won’t hit you, you may not give them damage, but at least you don’t get the damage either. Plus the fact that instead of a 0/10 recovery for hero spin (which is the best up B paired with the gale strike, done correctly is a instant combo and a easy to do, broken kill combo aswell) instead of jump Up b instant death, you can side b, jump and hero spin, turning that 0 to 8. Plus the down b being counter, man swordfighter is broken, but yeah, sorry if y’all Chakram users are triggered, but that’s the way I see it, and there’s evidence to back it. #AAIsBetterThanChakram
The optimal set today is a bit different but this is almost completely right even 4 years ago. We all know now that down throw and the other up b is a kill confirm at like fucking 70 for a lot of characters but yknow the axe kick ain’t horrible either. Better for recovery and it’s almost like chrom’s old up b where it kills the opponent first if you suicide with it
Back in Smash 4 (because I don’t have a Switch yet) I used dropkick all the time as a KO option. I usually ran Side Kick, Dropkick, Helicopter Kick, and Foot Flurry/Feint Jump.
I've been using brawler a lot but with the kill move side B but I think I'll change to the drop kick side B after watching this, didn't know it helped recovery so much
ayyyy! this makes me really happy. The move is just wild. I think it's the right call, and even tho it doesnt kill anywhere near as early as that side b, it WILL kill at reasonable percents for what it is. I hope this change does not disappoint you my friend
So down b with head on assault I did not see coming, but I decided to try it out anyways. Oh my! I used mii brawler in friendlies at a tourney and got ledge trump/ 2 frame spikes with ease. It’s also great as a quick punish since it’s like a fast smash attack out of shield, and it confirms if you land the first hit. The counter might be good, but man you gotta use head on assault
"The counter might be good, but man you gotta use head on assault" My f*cking MAN. THIS IS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT. Yeah sure, I respect the counter, but you GOTTA use HEA DON ASSAULT!! So happy it worked so well for you brother
I know I'm late but I think counter throw is a little better because your opponent doesn't expect it. But I do agree with the Shot Put and Soaring Axe Kick, those moves are broken!
Counter throw doesn’t even work all the time, and it doesn’t even activate on projectiles either so good luck fighting against zoners if you have that move
Thank you for offering in-depth reasons and examples for these moves. I had been running Shot Put, Suplex, Axe Kick, Feint Jump... but after seeing your reasoning, I've switched to the 1211 set you propose. Maybe this'll help me out a bit with Brawler!
The reason feint jump is considered by some, sorry, every single Brawler player the better option is because, counter throw doesnt work, the funny headbutt attack just doesnt combo into a lot, and feint jump can stage camp in Kalos, plus it is almost non edge guardable when mixed with shotput, also Brawler sucks offstage without it. The reason the 13x2 sets work, is because of feint jump. The jablock is not a real excuse because f smash does the same
After watching this video a while back I tried it out but couldn’t get the hang of the hoa and wasn’t able to ultilize it well enough to see results. I currently run Feint Jump, Shot Put, Suplex, and Axe Kick. Been seeing pretty decent results but I’m conflicting on replacing suplex with onslaught because it’s been tough trying to land any kill moves. Cool video though, hope to see more developments in the future.
@@DKbill once you unlock Mii brawler in world of light (warning, he's late game) you can use any version of Mii brawler, not just default (though a default one is automatically made in case you hadn't already made a fighter)
@@DKbill hell yeah. You should cause I don’t think mii brawler is talked about enough and when they are, everyone wants to claim that the helicopter kick is the best.
and nobody ever considers the severe advantage mii fighter mains have, that they have 256 different movesets and no one knows what they're using. I'm a mii fighter main and there are countless times I've gotten away with smuggling a given special only to reveal it when it kills them.
to be honest, the advantage is hardly severe. Still, it could definitely catch your opponent off guard online for kinda a free kill which is pretty lame. Luckily in tournament you must declare your moveset before the match starts.
in a patch, they made the rapid jab neutral B kill better so now you can confirm into it. Not that it's better than shot put, but it's now on par with it. Same with the thrust uppercut up b. Coming back to this video, here are some things I disagree with. The flip kick is a very good mix up that is hard to hit, can gimp, and can kill. The suplex is probably the best as an unreactable command grab that does 20+ damage. Because it's a grab it helps with people sheilding which is a good thing for against brawler. Also jab lock F smash kills way earlier than jab lock down b and same with Nair Fsmash at mid high percents and kills.

I do
This genuinely works. I don't have a switch, but I usually play with a friend who does and I won 4 out of the 10 games we played. To put it in perspective, I usually only win once or twice against him...
yoooo let's goo dude. I'm lovin these positive reviews- this moveset is the TRUTH
@@zackolot damn, rough life. good to keep in mind tho. thanks
If you think that headbutt is better than feint jump, you don't deserve mii brawler
hahaha, since this video, i have certainly changed to feint jump 100%!
Head assault is what I always used cuz after the mii's final smash you can use it to do more damage
LOL, godlike
Ooh, I'm gonna try that out.
ok but what about the best moves for
Mii Sword fighter & Mii Gunner?
Sword is Gale strike, Chakrum, Hero spin and counter.
Gunner is charge shot, arc fire(forgot the name lol), DP( forgot the name) and the bomb drops. (Vortex vs snake and shine vs other zoners)
I still think the suplex and the feint jump are better for brawler though.
Suplex catches ppl in platforms and has less end lag. Feint jump is amazing for recovering and break out of juggles.
@@inkllama5445
Nah. Too much lag, to predictable, combos into literally nothing
@@krazyzyko
What's DP?
Mii U I'm sorry. It means dragon punch (shoryuken) from street fighter. Which is an invincible upper cut that works as an anti air. Like megaman's up tilt.
The custom move for gunner is called: "cannon jump kick".
@@krazyzyko
I see.
I actualy alread use this entire loadout for mii brawler, but the tips you gave for them are great.
I really appreciate this comment :) thank you
I actually use almost the exact same moveset with Brawler.
Ok lets do this: I use 3,2,1,3 as my default
Good things about all Mii brawler moves:
Neutral B:
1 Shot Put - covered
2 Flashing Mach Punch - Always kills lightweight to heavy (not super heavy) characters at 100%
You can't spot dodge it or perfect shield it
3 Exploding Side Kick - Super armour, slightly more powerful than Captain Falcon's
Side B:
1 Onslaught - Only a reliable kill option, puts you into special fall, hits above ledge
2 Burning dropkick - Covered apart from the fact that you can escape counters 90% of the time due to recoil
3 Suplex - *tilts your opponent.* Command grab but basically impossible to kill with centre stage and puts you into special fall. You die first in the blast zone.
Up B:
1 Soaring axe kick - Beats super armour with last hit unless it's neutral b armour. If you go for disrespect, *opponent dies first.* Rest is covered.
2 Helicopter kick - Better at horizontal recovery than axe kick and kills off top.
3 Thrust uppercut - Trash for recovering. Reliable kill off top if you can string up airs
Down B:
1 Head-On Assault - Kills early at ledge, scoops opponents at ledge, breaks shields that have already taken minor damage. Rest is covered in the video.
2 Feint Jump - Good for recovering if you know how, great escape option in the air, and if you don't know how it works, easy to SD with
3 Counter Throw - Arguably best counter in the game, only works in front of Mii brawler, has short end lag, making recovery easier. Throws enemy behind brawler, doesn't counter energy projectiles, massive kill power depending on the attack. Grants invincibility frames that are short but can save you from final smash
That's all from the brawler main! Quick synopsis on how the movesets work.
Holy cow! You are a Mii Brawler Legend!!!
@@DKbill Thanks, it's legitimately just playing my main with as many movesets as possible for mixing it up
Imagine having to admit to your friends and family that you main mii

I already admitted to my family that I main Mii brawler. It started from the Wii U.
I went into this video thinking "I doubt it's as good as my legendary setup" I watched the video and your setup is the exact same as mine! Perfect.
bro of course imma show off the most legendary setup- good shit
The one-head-assault sucks. It's incredible laggy, unsafe on shield, inconsistent Kill Power and inconsistent Shield Break. Looks Like a good move, but is like not that good, Feint Jump sucks just If you use BDK, but FJ is one of the best moves in the game. Incredible good recovery (better when use Air-Kick) good kill power, no helpless. With this move BDK is usless so you can change to Suplex Grab. Is good to have stage control, ignore Shield, and launch at favorable combo distance with Up-B (except Helicopter Kick, don't use this move, use 1 or 3)
agreed. you def know your stuff dude. Please find my updated mii videos and you will be very haoppy :D
@@DKbill Thanks, I see your other videos and I like your content, new Sub
I already used this moveset and I can tell you it is amazing. Combos into down B do an insane amount of damage and the shot put absolutely destroys some recoveries (especially Ganon's).
BRAWLERS RISE UP
Oh hey, it's *mY* moveset! 🐸
nah, but seriously, this is the brawler I use, except I use Helicopter kick instead. Axe kick is my 2nd pick tho.
My best Mii Brawler is a rush down build, with the up special being an uppercut, and the down special being a counter. This has some serious power, and can KO pretty early, mainly around 75 to 80%.
Hey there, nice video! It's cool to see more people labbing this character but I'd like to make some points:
- about helicopter kick, the kill power is defined by the direction you are holding the analog stick for the last hit (and for the last hit only, which means you can drift offstage a bit for the first hits, and then drift backwards so you won't SD, and then hold offstage just for the last hit to kill). If you hold in, it will kill never; but if you hold offstage, it kills. Really. Early. You can check this here th-cam.com/video/2064ze3a_8A/w-d-xo.html
- the down B 1 is great for suicidal kills and as a surprise kill option, yeah, but if you wanna hard punish people from a lock you can just fsmash and they'll die just fine.
That tip is actually written in the "tips" part of the game but someone had to tell me or I wouldn't notice it at all lol
Also, be sure to check my channel! There's a lot of labbing there, so have fun with the knowledge 👌
I've been subscribed to your channel for a while Kowalski. You're the real Mii Brawler mvp

I agree but the counter is hilarious against stupid people who don't space and I like to stay off stage with it lol
the counter can definitely do some interesting stuff lol.
I use to use Great Value Cloud Up-B but I found if you use Shot Put, you give yourself better edge guarding with Helicopter Kick since Shot Put edge guards low you will start getting enemies that recover high, then you can punish off stage with helicopter kick.
true, but it doesnt kill early enough for it to be worth it tbh, it results in you getting gimped by good players 24/7
Neutral b: shot put
Side b: fire drop kick
Down b: head butt drop thing
up b the banana slamma one

And many of the combos it can be a part of are better and more safely served using the axe kick up-b, which does an absurd amount of damage.
you know what man, you are exactly right. I need to remake a video for this. Thanks for reminding me.
@@DKbill This video actually made me want to try-try the skull bash down-B, cause I got a little nostalgic for it lol. When it works, it really sends a message and there's def something to be said for using a moveset people aren't prepared for.

DKbill thanks lmaoooo
Miis are so busted in this game
i gotta say they're all pretty nice.
The optimal set today is a bit different but this is almost completely right even 4 years ago. We all know now that down throw and the other up b is a kill confirm at like fucking 70 for a lot of characters but yknow the axe kick ain’t horrible either. Better for recovery and it’s almost like chrom’s old up b where it kills the opponent first if you suicide with it
Now everyone knows about it, clickbait! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Cool video though, hope to see more developments in the future.
yeah definitely dont use suplex if anything. Onslaught is much better

Oh my god, tysm for coming back here and telling me this 😭 i feel so special
Don't forget the variable charge on neutral-b, shot put, gives it a lot of flexibility.
wait WHAT!?
You should revisit these now that the meta has advanced - I don’t think this move set is optimal anymore
definitely! I have! search my newer videos on Mii movesets ! :D
Counter Throw is actually better, cause if your going up against a heavyweight fighter like King Dedede, it kills at 30% at ledge. It’s really 1213.
i respect the down b counter.
