@ thank you for the quick reply ! I definitely will watch it today I did my first run yesterday and was curious if you could help with something. A item was not there and when I tried to make it as not available so I could remove it from the list, it kept spamming me with substitutions for the item… are those substitutions from the customer? Or from spark saying “hey, this is similar they might like this?” I use instacart.. and they do a similar thing but I noticed that if the customer does not directly put up a back up suggested item, it’s better to just refund it because when I go with whatever instacart suggests, the customer often does not like it and leaves a bad rating which sucks.. Not sure if spark functions the same … I also tried calming support because there was about 12 different substitutions that I was slammed with before finally being able to remove the item from my list… is there a way to just click not there and remove it? Because it kept asking me for a substitution (the app not the customer) or the “I’ll ask” button which good luck asking anyone in that Walmart anything lol

Glad it could help you! The Home Screen is outdated as this was almost half a year ago at this point but everything is pretty relatively the same. The one thing I will say about shopping is if you have to weigh something most Walmarts if not all have digital scales now. Just place the item on the scale and scan the QR code on the screen and that’s how we weigh now!

Spark is by far the better app in most cases. Not saying there isn't some cities or zones where you won't make more with DD, but from my knowledge of apps it goes, Catering Apps, Shopping Apps, & then Food Apps in terms of how profitable and great of an hourly rate you can have. Like I said it all depends on your area so this could change, but this what I have learned over the couple years of doing it. But for me I only use Spark mostly!

I’m betting that your the guy to ask this question too than trying support. I’m new to spark and I’m having trouble with adding substitutions. If an item isn’t available in that size and if you hit item not available on the app. Sometimes it offers a substitution and sometimes it just moves on to the next item. It doesn’t give you a chance to offer two 16 oz instead of one 32oz. How do you make sure that you can offer a substitution?
Hi! Great question. So when that happens that means the customer actually selected that they didn’t want a substitute. They can do this for one or all items. If it moves you straight on to the next item then I wouldn’t even think about a substitute as they didn’t want one. I hope this answers your question. If you have more don’t be afraid to ask away! Hmmm I’m going to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with that and I’ve been to 10+ Walmarts. If I’m not mistaken you would just go to a regular cashier then and they should have those exact QR codes at the register. I would assume the app would know your store doesn’t and would give different instructions but I am not 100% sure.
So, I was shopping for an order last night and as I went to scan the item... something popped up saying order canceled and something about metrics..then the screen went white and I had to back out and come back in..... the second was a very late order that I arrived to deliver and something popped up saying "order cancelled", but then it proceeded to let me complete the order... and the customer said they did not cancel.. it really confused me as I'd driven 17miles for that late delivery.
I believe what possibly happened was it saying cancel from that earlier order. The app has been known to be really delayed sometimes for that message. If it wasn’t that then that’s some weird stuff! 😂

The product was out so the app suggested a sub which was out so I was trying to scan the only one they had and all it said was wrong product which I knew but I thought maybe it would take that instead but no and it moved on without a choice for me to pick/ manually pick one, what to do. Wish I could send you footage of my struggle lol
I just want to note that the screens can and often times DO look different in different markets. Im in the Panhandle and mine is different than this, as it was even different for me from panhandle to Tampa and different from both of those when i was in Vegas... So It might not look exactly like this but should be easy enough to figure out either way. as far as the vehicle information I have never input that information into the app but you already have to provide insurance information so I work under the assume that they already know what i am driving and if they don't it can only help me since i drive a kia rio and what they WANT to fit into a small car is alot different than what CAN fit into a small car... I have only had to turn down 1 order based on theoretical car info problems and it was an order that wanted an entire shopping order PLUS 12 (you read that number right) CASES of water.
Yeah actually funny you mention that I had a sub tell me the other day when I was live that their app looked like completely different then theirs and I was like ??? And so I changed to their zone and it was a more simplified version then my app I was so dumbfounded.
May I ask if you are a new driver? Mine doesn't ask every time. It is every couple of days, and recently, it will ask occasionally immediately after a drop off. I like that it is checking, but every time would be a bit annoying. Good luck to you!
@@ashlynl9005 might be a new driver thing like neicees said I generally have to verify roughly every 10 orders so no I wouldn’t say it’s normal but maybe it is for new drivers if you are new. Could be zoned dependent too. I guess not 100% sure though.
I would like to ask you, after I buy, do I have to wait for someone from Walmart to come and check before I can scan and check out each item or do I scan everything and then wait for someone to come and check? (I mean the code on the computer screen). Does it mean that after scanning all the items and scanning the code on the picture, I have to wait for someone from Walmart to come and check everything again before I leave? And there is only one separate check out machine for the spark driver, not shared with many other machines like when I go shopping normally
From what I know only some Walmarts have specific Walmart spark driver check outs. The ones I work at do not because they don’t have enough staff for it. In terms of scanning the items you never do that. You scan the QR code and you will either get the good to go sign or you will end up getting a message that says you have been randomly selected for a cart check or something like that and then a Walmart associate has to come over and scan 3 of your items. I have heard some Walmarts check no matter what but mine doesn’t. But you never scan the items you scan the QR code and just start bagging either when it tells you good to go or after the Walmart associate does the random cart check. Very helpful, however we need info on edit function, when the barcode doesn’t scan for the right product, etc. my first week which I just finished upped, was an absolute shit show with in store shopping. Bar codes not scanning, edit function didn’t work, produce weight vs how many customer wants and not being able to pick it because it now has a weight limit, the website ndc vs in store ndc not matching for the exact same product for example deli cheese once I scanned the bar code and said wrong item with no sub I could no longer put in a weight because it disappeared, I also tried to manually put in the ndc from the website and it still wouldn’t take it. And I’m sure I missed things. Every order was a disaster. Any video help would be great, I also have android phone
Hmm. I have never needed to use the edit function. The only time I needed to use it when I substituted an item for the customer they reject it and then they ask for an item they do want. The barcodes not scanning I could definitely do a video on or even just give a quick mention most of the time when it doesn’t scan that item there is generally three options here. Either it is accidentally scanned the QR code that is on the barcode, it didn’t work so scan again, and if all else fails and you know it is the right item go ahead and say the item isn’t found and then manually substitute that item with the new barcode(I know sometimes barcode changes and Walmart doesn’t always update it). Also I see you say ndc, I am assuming your are talking about the upc, if it is something that needs to be weighed you don’t scan a barcode for that. Also I think I have only ran into one time where the item I picked up weigh more than the limit so I just chose a smaller one, but Walmart has always had a weight limit on produce. I’ll try to mention these things my video that I will end up posting on Sunday but here is the information for you right away. Hope this helps! Question, have you taken advantage of the Tier 2 Program cellphone service? I’m guessing you have to maintain that status to continue to qualify for it, correct?

Ps the meat was out and no more was available but a sub was given and I picked it right thing right price per pound and it absolutely would not scan and I was not able to deliver it so you know the customer was gonna be pissed. I even scanned around to other meats no luck. So aggregating
Sometimes the wrong meat gets placed in the wrong location. I have never had a meat not scan if it is the correct one. If you did have this problem and you were sure it was the right one I would do what I mentioned in my other comment where you just manually substituted with “your choice” sub that can override the system generally!
I’ve been on the waiting list for 15 months and I just got a text tonight saying that there is openings in my area . I hurried up and signed up! Now just waiting for the background check.

@Drews_Spark_Adventures Sorry 1 little input/correction the last update they did for spark a couple weeks ago did actually move all metrics to be "instant update" and be counted over the last 100 trips instead of the 50 they were using prior. Hmm interesting.. It is different here, we do not have to scan the label on drop off on normal curbside pick up orders..... oi must be nice to get a 90% license scan rate!!!! Apparently the app HATES florida barcodes so its more like a 90% type in rate here! Oi on your shopping order I despise the no tip shopping orders.... You wanna sit at home while i spend my time shopping for you, than using my gas and wear and tear on my car to get it to you than go back to the walmart for the next order... I have always been of the opinion "Be lazy or be cheap by FFS don't be both."

And yeah I didn’t want to take it but I needed it to show the weight picture because I forgot to screenshot one on a different order. I ended up seeing 5 decent orders WITH TIPS before I got this one SMH. And damn that sucks 90% type in rate. Also weird don’t have to scan the label on curbsides I wonder why
