Dumble is a guy. And he built many different amps. I don't think there is "the" Dumble sound. This pedal probably sounds exactly like the specific amp (or amps) they modeled it after.
I think if That Pedal Show had Robin Ford playing this in the background and had the Dumble sitting there. People would say that’s the best Dumble they ever heard.
If every Dumble was made to measure and therefore each sounded unique, for all we know you might be able to get a good approximation of one of them by using a Boss DS-1. We now just have to search for that Dumble!
Yes apart from a boss ds-1 isn't going to cost you £ 300 so they don't mention that. My advice is save your money and get a good tube amp first. No pedal is going to replace that part.
Ppl say this all the time like they've received it by revelation from God. Yet if taken seriously, it makes little sense. How many people have actually tried a vintage Marshall and under ideal tone circumstances? Relatively few. No one ever says "who knows if this pedal actually sounds like a cooking Marshall at stage volume?" the only question is whether you like the sound the pedal is making. Who cares how accurate these things are?

It’s not meant as a replacement for a good tube amp but rather for home studio recording purposes or stage situations in which you can’t rock a tube amp on decent volume but play straight into the PA. Of course you can still run this into a power amp, but then you’d definitely be better and cheaper off with a tube amp and a (dumblesque) overdrive pedal.
Fair enough! Strangely enough, I like the sounds of the Tweed version of this over the Plexi version which would put me in the minority. Still, I love the Dumble sound and these are very interesting to me!
If you’re getting a really faithful representation of a famous or impossible to buy amp, I could see it being worth it. The lacking of features bothers me though. No effects loop, no balanced output, no 3rd party IR support.. there are competitors that make for a way better hybrid rig
Strymon reverb does also a bit of tasty colouring. I think that is what shines in this demo and might be one of the essentials to Rabeas Sound so even in an UA Demo he doesn’t leave it off.

If I was Rabea, I wouldn’t jack around with metal. He’s so good at that R&B/funk playing, he could do an entire album of that alone. He’s brilliant at it.

@@Aquiiin id say just look for a good fender style amp for the cleans with reverb, like deluxe reverb or princeton. I have a cornell romany, will do al those styles with no pedals.

I would have liked to hear it with an Eventide Eclipse and a Bricasti reverb and maybe a tc 2290 and while we are at it, put a tc1210 on it for chorus. Even better would be a real EMT plate or a Lexicon 480L. All through an SSL J Series console. Come on Rabea, quit slackin.
I will never know what it is like to play a Dumble or really what a Dumble is supposed to sound like, but this pedal does sound good. I'm a fan of supro-style amps/pedals/tones and this seems to do that. May have to give this a try at some point. I really liked the '68 Lion.

One thing that worries me with this is, how long will their app support last? I've had issues before with hardware that's app-dependent, and after a few years the phones move on to new OSs and they stop supporting the app, and the gear is useless.
I feel like this with a lot of this style of gear too. I’m guessing companies as big as UA or NDSP and so on probably have intentions to support these pedals for the foreseeable. I’d imagine they get them into a state where they’re solid and just work. I guess as long as the app still connects to the pedal then it’s all good! I suppose the only thing that would really ruin it all is if Bluetooth gets replaced by something else one day!
@@RabeaMassaad I guess at the end of the day if you buy something digital, it's not going to have the lifespan of something analog, just comes with the territory and part of the cost/value equation.
This is not a big deal…the pedal will still work regardless. But these pedals are just getting started. It’s really something I’d absolutely not worry about at all…I mean, if you are then don’t buy it. I’m currently enjoying all of my UAFX pedals and that’s not even a thought..

I'd LOVE to hear Mark Tremonti's thoughts on this pedal... he has/has owned numerous Dumble amps. ditto for Bonamassa,. This whole range of pedals has been unreal so far... maybe UA is working up to their own modeller (a la Fractal/QC etc).
Great demo as always Rabea! Sounds very good, but honestly it doesn’t sound that different or distinctive to justify it, I think there are a lot of other good (and cheaper) pedals in the market to get the (already diverse) dumble sound.
UAFX are geniuses from a financial point of view, they have the same layout and they can keep making these pedals just by modeling different amps. Could they have made a single pedal that allows you to have multiple amps (Anti, Lion, Dream, etc.)? Yes, easily. But why do that when you can rip people off by re-hashing the same shit with very little R&D required.
That’s LUDICROUS and also inaccurate…for several reasons. BUT…whatever the reason is that you hate UA, just move on and don’t buy their products. They will survive just fine, and you won’t have to deal with their horrible “rehashed” pedals 😂 …everyone’s happy. 🙄🤦♂️😬😆

Having pedals with the same form factor makes for a very ergonomic and visually attractive board. All UAFX have different controls to match the hardware and make each usable. It’s not possible to do multiple models with workable usability without adding a screen above each control, and that’s a totally different type of product. Will a UAFX multi FX ever happen? Who knows. This is an amp you can centre your tone and other pedals around, only without the Dumble price tag. Also, modelling four essentially unobtainable Dumbles and putting them in one pedal is an incredible technical feat, these things are unobtainable.

@@matthewearl9824 Well obviously it wouldn't be the same as having a real Dumble. Because you'll essentially have two power amps in a row. But there is stuff like the Fryette Powerstation that also is designed for doing that. I guess if your power amp is somewat neutral it will sound really good. I have the Dream and the Lion from UA and I play them through the Powersection (i.e into the effects loop) of my Marshall 410h. The cab emulation on the pedals is turned off obviously 🙂. And it does sound very, very good.👌 One thing though, the build in room reverb of the pedals will only work if the cab emulation is of. So it won't work in this scenario.
I think a lot of peeps are going to now buy this pedal after your fine demo. Unlike the Andertons vid - your humball fumble rumbles (apologies) really shows this thing being put thru its paces. Do wish these pedals had midi support though..

This pedal, at least to me, sounded almost absurdly good. I'm a UA guy, so I guess that means I'll only weep quietly while paying for this one.

Better demo than Lee and Pete. The captain couldn’t dial in a clean sound in an entire 35 minutes. It was definitely the worst demo online so far.

It’s accurate. I have lots of UA stuff and love their interfaces especially - but they nickel and dime big time.
They also have a history of abandoning products and making shitty apps with horrible Bluetooth, etc. this is a fact, like it or not.
