    Hello! We are a bunch of fishermen in Singapore who enjoy fishing and catch-and-cook, and we make vlogs of our adventures. Today we did some fishing along Marina South and Marina South Pier and got a variety of fishes including a juvenile Kaci and a baby Coral Trout (Ang Gao)!

    Was there last week and it was sangkot haven. Almost every cast resulted in being snagged.
    Can you do a video talking about tips on how to rig to best avoid sangkot?

      It is normal to sangkot there. For us our rigs are usually just a simple apollo. I find that using a longer rod (surfcasting rod) and retrieving fast helps prevent sangkot alot.

    • @JivesFishing
      @JivesFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, it is very rocky there.

    How long are your rods and what's the power of them

    • @JivesFishing
      @JivesFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh most of our rods are very old and relatively cheap (we didn’t pay much attention to the specs) for general purpose, about 5-7’. For our surfcasters, we have 2 15’ heavy rods and one medium light 12’ rod.

    Hi, what kind of bait do y'all use? Thinking of using live fish, you think can? Haha. Don't know if the fish will take

    • @JivesFishing
      @JivesFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dead/live prawns usually. Live fish is great bait! Excellent for fish like groupers

      @@JivesFishing with an Apollo rig you reckon? I saw some uncle's just catching the fish with a sabiki and then throwing it straight out

    • @JivesFishing
      @JivesFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chess king if u are using live fish, a long snood would be better to let the fish swim around more.

      @@JivesFishingAh, true. I'll try a 1m+ floater rig, uncle there recommended me

    • @JivesFishing
      @JivesFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For which fish? In general we mostly use a simple apollo rig. We may talk abit about rigs next time.
