How to Catch Rabbitfish | Marina South Pier Fishing | Singapore Fishing

- Recently we discovered a new technique on how to catch Rabbitfish using Algae as bait. We land several Rabbitfish on our first attempt and had lots of fun catching them on our modified pole/surf cast rod. We also met a group of anglers that does a fishing technique called “Garong”. This style of fishing requires a special treble hook and a long pole rod to snag rabbit fish that nibbles on the algae bait. this technique is originated in Indonesia....this 'garong' hook also origin of Indonesia... I think s'porean learned it from Indonesian??? ... enjoy the thrill guys....

hi, may i ask must it be the green moss-like algae harvested at the sembawang canal as bait for hunting rabbit fish? any idea will other types of seaweed found at beaches during low tide works?
Hi there, if I'm not mistaken. There are 2 types of Weed rabbitfish like. One type is collected at Sembawang (thats like silky). Then the other one is sometimes collected at west coast its much fatter. Some weed rabbit wont eat.

Usually all year round they are in. Rainy season for this particular species.
Garong technic was invinted by Indonesian fish Hunter after deep depressed because the rabbit fish has a small mouth....

@@AJVMFISHING th-cam.com/video/VNr0pmzyEvQ/w-d-xo.html here's a vid but the way I do it if to get either fish food pellets and put the paste with it in hot water to mash up into a dough consistency or u can buy some Chinese dough bait powder and mix in some paste, both worked well in the past for me
