Sealing Alcohol Ink Mugs - with No Resin! Part 2!

  • This is a quick little rundown of how I’ve been sealing my alcohol ink mugs! I’m unable to use resin as of right now so I did some research to find the best alternative. Side note - these will still NOT be dishwasher or microwave safe - hand wash only ☺️☺️
This whole process isn’t super, super quick but it is worth the patience that goes into it! In total I usually tell people it takes about 2 weeks for me to make a cup for them - to include drying time. It might be longer for you though! I also stay home with our kids so I am able to work on multiple cups during the day which helps!
Feel free to ask any questions! I will try my best to have some answers! I’m still very new to this way of sealing so I’m not a big expert 😁
Also please check out my Instagram page for more pictures of the mugs I’ve been working on! Www. MommaMoeCreations
Here are some links to things I used in the video!

I love this! I am still recovering from a face, neck and arms rash after using epoxy with a chemical mask, eye protection, long sleeves, gloves, etc. I also had the window up in the shed and the door open So this will allow me to continue to do something I love. Thank you!

Whatever you do don't use the epoxy that comes in a big can and a little bottle that's called hardner, it will give you a huge headache and if you don't use the right cup to mix it will start to eat the cup very fast

Use Turquiose/ Baja Blue/ light green... with
Molotow Liquid Chrome (Refill is cheaper from Amazon) they (I think) also have a Liquid Chrome Pen by Molotow.... IT is a Beautiful TRUE Silver Chrome ... amazing.
Do a Video on making on making the mugs (I like big mugs)... and mention my name, because I want you to custom make this for me...

You live in MN atop!! This is why I’m so glad I found out about Crystalac! MN is too darn cold most of the year to be using resin indoors, plus my youngest has asthma, I don’t want to use harmful things in the house. Any suggestions on how I can use the setting spray you use? Our basement is finished. I can’t thank you enough for the tutorials really. Hopefully my hubby & I will finally clean up my crafts room soon so I can try making some of my own.

Yayyy MN (we live in the Northern Suburbs 🤗) But ugh our weather 😆 You could use a Rubbermaid bin - spray inside that then cover it up after to not have as much smell - because it does smell haha! And I hear you I did resin things before this and on top of having a bad reaction to it I had to be in our garage. Which meant I could only work on things late at night or earllly in the morning when our kids were in bed 🥴

I have not just tried a couple layers - the company recommends at least 4-6 layers minimum I just do more. It’s so much different than resin so it’s hard to compare. I like this product because it’s non toxic and I can use it inside my home around our kids and cats without needing any PPE like resin. Plus I’m allergic to resin so I’m avoiding using it. Some people do resin with these but it’s not recommended to go all the way to the top since it is not safe.
