My next try at the alcohol ink waterfall method on a clear wine glass then sealing with epoxy resin

- This is my next try at the waterfall method with my homemade alcohol inks and i love the freshwater “stream” look! I half expect a trout to jump off.
The mistake I made was grabbing one of the glasses off of the turner without sealing it first, so I smeared the mica powder a bit. I totally forgot! Anytime you use mica powder with alcohol, the color is not “fixed” when dry like ink is, so it has to be sealed. I didn’t do that, and it smeared. So I added some glitter to cover my mistake!
And boy did they POP when the resin was on.

Don’t forget to wear your gloves and to ventilate your space! I had my fan going, and my studio doors were open.
Very pretty wine glasses. ❤ the wispy effect. That mixture looks awesome.
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks so much for sharing Edwige, I really appreciate learning from you!
I have a couple of questions, if you don’t mind answering?
1) You talk about making your own coloured solutions, using mica powder; do you just mix it with the alcohol?
2) Do you spray the glass with the clear after you’ve put the colour on? And, do you spray it all the way to the top of the glass?
I love the way you present your videos, in real time and talking us thru your thoughts and methods. You also have a great sense of humour, very similar to myself… I believe that, if we met in person, we would connect immediately!
Anyhoo… thanks again for all the inspiration you pass on to us all.
Much love from Brisbane, Australia . ♥️♥️🇦🇺
thank you! Yes, I mix the mica in the alcohol and shake well! Shake it as you use it too, because the mica will settle to the bottom. Experiment with it though, because this does not work the same way as alcohol inks. Different! but equally lovely! I only spray the clear sealant on the colored area, but occasionally some will get on the clear glass. Ypu. a remove this with acetone, after you resin it. Have fun! Love, Your American Bestie ❤️
Hi thanks! Most are $10 each but I always do bundle deals for people, especially if I’ve been talking to them for a while and we strike up a conversation. That happens a lot because I talk a lot.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
So where did you find the foam pieces to hold the glass on the spinner? The pool floats I find have too big of holes to fit on the spinner.
Walmart or dollar tree. I use plastic shelf liner to wrap around the turner arm to make the pool noodle fit more snuggly.
Very cool. what is your recipe for the blending solution?
Thanks! I found a recipe on YT, so I can’t take credit. But for 4 ounces of isopropyl alcohol, add 2-3 drops of vegetable glycerin, which you can find on Amazon. That’s it!
Thank you.
These are beautiful!! How much do you charge for your glasses ?
it depends
Do you have videos on how you create your alcohol ink solutions and blending solution
Funny you should ask! This video was early in my TH-cam adventure, so I didn’t make a video on that. I have not done this method since, as it’s more time consuming than other methods that I like better.
@@ACoastalMagnolia what videos would you suggest I watch
Search for “make your own alcohol ink”. I mixed mine with mica powder, but others have made with sharpie markers.
Can you drink out of these or are they just for decoration?
you can drink from them
@ACoastalMagnolia thank you for your quick response...love and light ❤️
Curious what fo you sell the wine glasses for
1 for $15 and 2 for $25.
