When I worked at Barneys we had a fashion show/morning meeting specifically for The Row. I remember being in awe when I saw the clothes on the models. The styles were absolutely stunning in person and the simplicity is so timeless.
Barney’s has fashion shows? Tell me more! I work for a tech company specializing in experiential marketing and I’d love to see how our services can be of use to them. Can you make an introduction?
Just wanted to say their clothing line success didn’t start with a white t-shirt in 2006. It started back when they launched their first clothing line for tweens with Walmart. They slowly and steadily built up their quality, branding, and reputation within the fashion industry over the years.
I like how they didn’t think they had to keep going in acting or the entertainment industry and chose something else. They are not fame obsessed. The clothes are beautiful and personally I am into minimalism & minimalist fashion, so I would not mind getting a piece or two as an investment. But I never buy anything without careful consideration. Gave up fast fashion years ago.
I’m a minimalist too and now it’s expanding into my wardrobe. I cleaned out my closet to start over. I love Mary Kate and Ashley, they have the passion for this and I am glad they didn’t go back to acting. The Row has beautiful pieces and I love the quality. It’s nice to hear they didn’t want to be the face of the brand. That’s probably why it’s so successful! When celebrities out their names and face to a brand, it cheapens it.
I have worked in couture most of my life and in my last job I created a luxury ready to wear department for a well known person. One of the things I insisted on was the best fabric so in the beginning as the brand was new I sourced the stock from famous brands for a fraction of the initial price and when the shareholders came to the first collection and touched the garments they asked me how I could make something such beautiful quality fabric. I always say that each fabric will 'tell' you what it wants to be and it is easier in the long run to go with the desire of the fabric, a shirt or a coat or dress. I have worked with designers who didn't care to listen and it never ended well.
The row has been out for several several years. They had a fragrance that was sold at Sephora.. and it was amazing.. people are actually very late to what they’ve BEEN doing for quite some time.
I love that they’re short like me and still look so stylish with their oversized clothes and accessories. They prove that non-5’11” runway models can look chic and cool!
They’re short but skinny, as someone who somewhat curvy the oversized look adds more weight to my body, whereas if your skinny it gives you that effortless chic vibe
Not really those huge clothes swallow them up and make them disappear. There’s a reason models have to be tall and I wish people would stop trying to break the standards just cause they don’t fit them themselves. You don’t see tall girls revolting that they don’t get to be in gymnastics cause the standard is to be tiny lol funny is most of the people that say this claim to be feminist yet foam stuff the mouth whenever another woman has something she can’t have.
I’ve been intrigued by these women for a rather long time. The mystique is so key to what the produce and how they live. When they were very young and had moved on from the TV show they starred in (in shifts being so young., an aside, my dad loved that show and ‘them’, so I watched it a lot), anyway, they had a clothing brand. Back in the day, way back in the day, in a land far, far away, I was very petite in height (4”11’) and size. I wore several of the their pieces, mostly trousers, as I could never find anything to fit me. (Oh, how I wish I could still shop in the kids section 😢😂😂. To end, I love their aesthetic. My father was a tailor and I grew up in the family shop being trained by him. They are spot on that fabric and cut is everything.
I think the brand stands out in America for its old money luxury. There's is no "perfect" t shirt, as everyone body type and shape is different. Sure you can charge a lot for a t-shirt as a way to "position" yourself in the market by getting people to talk about it (like I am right now), but if you step aside the rest of the world, The Row is not that much special (at least for men) there are better designers in Europe and Japan who has been doing luxury for decades and they are brands where fashion geeks adore that you won't find in normal department stores. A quick search on style forum can tell you no one talks about The Row - this is a clear indication it is still "fashion" over style
i agree, it has more to do with exclusivity, luxury and old money aesthetics & ideals. it's epitomized through their old money motto of "if you know, you know". the mystique, mystery and shrouded in behind the scenes knowledge is what the privileged and elite gravitate towards because they want that clear divide between them and the general poor population.
sorry but I am in Europe and have been hearing about this brand long before the quiet luxury trend! You much be living under a rock if you are into fashion and this kind of style and never heard of them...?
The brand is already there when the world wearing that street style with large logo written on their clothes. It’s nice to see some brand stick to quality over quantity.
There is nothing special about these clothes. Branding them as lux is a marketing scheme. I can find the same styles, colors, and silhouettes at Macy's, express, and other mall stores. If you take care of your clothes, they will last.
I own just baseball cap from the row. The quality is good. When I look close, It is different from others. I have some expensive clothes and cheap ones. The different is when someone looks close, the details are different. The material is soft and nice. The fit is a lot better (usually). I am sure it is not the quality of H&M but the margin return is not good at the high end.
The quality is hit and miss. While I love some of my pieces, as heavy and well made, not ALL is cut perfectly. For the price, I expect EVERY piece to be perfect. They aren’t. Saint Laurent in the seventies was perfect. Halston.
Yves trained at the most prestigious couture academy in the world by the same people who sit at the major shows and judge whether pieces are couture or not. Unfortunately gone are the days of the master craftsman leading fashion brands, fast fashion is now beholden to 90day shareholder attention spans.
Going to the moon is not available for everyone but noone calls that exclusivity but whenit's clothes or bags then people have a problem with it. Not everything has to be for everyone. Also anyone can get more money if they want to belong to this specific targets group.
Meh…. It’s still all marketing, just marketed differently. If they Wana be invisible, they should just not have stores, online stores, no ads, no products …. No name brand… just stay home and be unknown as rich girls .

100% we were junkies for anything Olsen back then. Not sure if Gen Z gets it lol
@@tula1433 Exactly. I remember my daughter asking me to buy something for her from The Olsen sisters 😊
The Row had nothing at all to do with their earlier things. Their tween line had been gone and done with for years when they started the Row,

You are spot on
Out of interest, for us lay people, do you know where we can go and buy our own good quality materials to then take to a tailor at a later date? :)

Sure... but us 5'11 runway models look good in everything
@@SocialExperiment232thank youuu! Modern feminism HA! The biggest joke of all
Im 5’11 and us tall girls wish we were petite like the Olsens so we can wear heels!
Unfortunately, their clothes are far to expensive for the majority of consumers, even when on sale.
If you can’t afford it, you are obviously not the market
That’s what exclusive means. Most people are excluded.
The Row is like artwork. One does not need to own it to appreciate it.
@@Mina_Hakim why? what I said is a fact even if I said it bluntly. Luxury brands are unapologetically expensive. They’re not for everyone
That's just it. They intended it that way. Their target customer are the ultra rich.
Haute is a French word, meaning ‘High’ pronounced ‘Oat’ phonetically in English. Great video. Totally subscribed. 🐼♥️🤩
Wow thanks I always wondered 🙃❤️
I always loved those girls. Happy to see their success 🌞
Love they kept it mysterious. ❤ Super smart. Awesome quality. Beautiful pieces.
They always look like they are on the edge of death to me.
Their actress sister is stunning.
Lol they make dying look very chic
They look great now 2024❤❤

Always loved them..since Elizabeth James designs.
The twins are so kool..e so talented.

While I quietly wear my wool sweater, with moth holes, perfectly soft khakis, button down Oxford shirt with its frayed color +++ Shhhhh

The Rowe hasn’t had attention for years and now its popular they must have great PR team behind them
Awesome! Keep it coming. I'm intrigued. I just subscribed. Thank you for sharing 😊
Love these girls and the brand.
Really some stunning view
Thank you. So nice to read or hear something good. Well done to these two lovely young ladies 🎉❤
300$ t shirt…I’m out 👀🇺🇸
I never heard of The Row so I presume it’s just for the US market. Very much like Uniqlo C
sorry but I am in Europe and have been hearing about this brand long before the quiet luxury trend! You much be living under a rock if you are into fashion and this kind of style and never heard of them...?
There is something sculptural, minimal and ultra-luxurious in their design esthetic compared to other brands.
I ❤ their visions on fashion
love their clothes cant shop anywhere else.
$300 tee shirt....ok so once upon a time there was this emperor......on the other hand done right, its marketing genius.....
And the store is lovely ..........

I recall them being associated by The Row from day one…..this is a tad confusing.
$300 dollar T-shirt! Looks like they moved way ahead of Kanye.
They did have great taste!👍
Great content!! Subscribed ❤
Classical ❤
Gorgeous fashion.
I didn’t know!! Nice
Not sure why they stopped smiling after 13 years old. And this narrative sounded a like a complete infomercial for them.
Lol they’re channeling Wednesday Adams?
Thanks 👍🥰
✨✨❤️ beautiful
I like some of it actually. Some of it is just for the runway clearly
For two beautiful women

Olsen Twins wearing Jesus shoes before the rest of the industry caught on.

Yohji Yamamoto knockoffs.
Very beautiful fashion, but let's be real, the price is way too high. I wish them all the best. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
