- My visit to Russia begins along the Baltic Sea in Saint Petersburg. Saint Petersburg is Russia's second-largest city as well as its cultural capital. The Historic Center of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next I continue on to Moscow, Russia's capital and most populous city. Here I visit historic Red Square and the Kremlin. The Video concludes with my visit to the Trinity Monastery of St. Sergii in Zagorsk.

Great video. Especially enjoyed St. Petersburg as I've been there twice and it was like visiting again, now that we are all stuck at home. Your Moscow video was also super and glad you listed the sites you were seeing. I've also been there and m guide wasn't as helpful as your's must have been in naming what we were seeing. Plan to watch all your videos to pass the time while we are all sheltering. Can hardly wait to get back to other places.

Apparently this is how some kids in St. Petersburg earn money. Everyone on the boat gave him money when we got back. There are videos here on TH-cam of other kids doing the same thing.
The boy in the red shirt waving was a hoot...it made me literally laugh our loud..lol best part of the video. Russia is nothing like I pictured it to be. Its beautiful. Even though the history hasn't been so great.

Filming was allowed but it wasn't easy shooting around all those heads. Most of the heads I photographed that day weren't in frames.
A few questions: How did you get so lucky at Katherine's palace to have a private showing as well as entertainment? Also, how did you arrive in Russia ( by ship or plane ). Getting a visa is nearly impossible by plane as I understand it. Either way, one must hire a tour to enter the country and cannot wander the country without one. Please let me know if I'm right.
This video is a compilation of two different visits. On the first visit I arrived by ship and did not need a visa at all if I took a tour organized by the ship, which I did. It was a two day deluxe tour which included the private showing at Catherine Palace. On the second visit I arrived by tour bus. I had to get a visa in advance but it was not difficult to obtain.

It is the oppulence and excessive grandeur that we marvel at today. But what about the general populace living in squalor of those days. If we didn't have these excesses of the upper crust and wealth were distributed among the general populace we would be looking at an enormous sea of 2 and 3 bedroom homes that no one cares about. It may not seem fair but there is something to be said of wealth being in the hands of a few. (wish I were one of them).

Строится всё : жильё, дороги, инфраструктура, заводы, фабрики, верфи, больницы с супер современной аппаратурой, школы, детские сады, разбиваются новые скверы, парки. Да куча всего! Перечислять устану. Так, что не нужно за Россию переживать. У нас всё хорошо.
