I have never heard of using hemp seed as a rice replacement…I will definitely try it. And your gumbo! This Lake Charles girl is happy happy that I can still have my gumbo & rice 😁.
Are you using hemp hearts or the complete hemp seed? Can't tell you how happy I was to find a source of keto recipes for the kind of Cajun food my Mama makes. I don't have to feel guilty now when I want to make a good pot of gumbo!
I tried this for the first time in a gumbo yesterday, love the taste, texture not bad, but do they make them any bigger? To me this could make great grits sub too. But is there a more thicker hemp heart? That would just make a huge difference on texture of rice. But I still enjoyed it. Gonna make my first keto gumbo soon. Using lupin flour and this rice. Thanks for a keto Cajun on the bayou
Where do you buy your hemp hearts from? I’ve been buying from Amazon. Just asking in case you know somewhere better to buy. They can be pretty pricey on Amazon.

Yes I've done it with chicken broth many times but I was just trying to make a very simple easy way to utilize this
