Daikon radish can be found at many grocery stores or ethnic grocery stores
We estimate 1 cup of this has about 5 net carbs (3 net carbs for the diakon and 2 net carbs for the rest of the ingredients)

AWESOME WEIRDO TRIBE!!! YEAH!!
Have you done the Keto Mac Cheese using shrimp?
I use this all the time for rice! 🎉
❗️I also use kohlrabi!! I t makes killer mash and hash too! 💯
LMAO, that daikon radish is on its way out. They're supposed to be hard like a carrot. I absolutely love you both!!!!
I guess a couple were old, Sarah bought out the entire grocery store of daikon lol
I bake my cauliflower rice in the oven. I spread it on parchment paper and spray it with a little oil. You can also season it at this point. I bake it at 375°, checking every 10 minutes or so until it's to my liking. I can then add it to whatever I'm fixing. I don't have to stand over the stove that way. 😊
Brilliant
@@tracyadkins1464 I think you meant your question for @freakyunicorn2912
On average, how long do you usually in total cook your cauliflower rice for? Do you squeeze out the excess water if it’s frozen when you steam it before you bake it in the oven? Or do you chop it up fresh from a head of cauliflower and then bake it?
After you have grated the radish, change back to the regular food processor blade and pulse the grated radish a few times. This will make the radish texture less like shreds and more rice-like.
Have you tried frying sliced radishes! Simply slice red radishes into thin medallions. Have some freshly grated Parmesan. Fry medallions in a fry pan with melted butter until browned on both sides. I place the medallions in a single layer in the pan and monitor the frying so both sides get a golden brown. Then Just before done frying sprinkle shredded Parmesan on top of the medallions and melt until the cheese becomes golden. Place on serving dish and enjoy!!! These taste so close to fried potatoes that it’s nothing short of mazing! So Crispy!!!! Super tasty!!!! Definitely a keeper recipe. A must try if you haven’t already!
Yum! That sounds great!
When making stew I replace chunks of daikon in place of potatoes. The texture is super similar cooked that way and my carb lover husband actually likes it.
If this vid doesn’t get you to 200k, then there’s no hope for humanity. ❤😂❤
We’ve lost about 15 subscribers since this video was published 😂🥴

The floppy radish is cracking me up 😂😂😂
You guys crack me up playing with the wiggly Daikon. I actually have one in my refrigerator so I will try this recipe today.
I was dying laughing watching you wave that thing around😂😂
😅
So many comments I could make, but I will keep it family. Love you two and your sense of humor.
I love daikon radishes. They are very mild and have a nice crunch when eaten raw. They are great to cube up and put into stews and soups instead of potatoes. They are great to slice into thin discs to use as a dipper in different sauces. Very versatile vegetable.
Emily, you have really trancended your funny self today!
🥴🙈🤗
Your wiggly Diakon is not very fresh. It's been too long since it was harvested. Not too long to be edible, but when it was fresher, it did not wiggle.
But one thing is, the harder or fresher it is, it has a lot more water. Her daikon maybe wiggly but it is just right for what she is doing
😂😂😂
I can totally see that as a "noodle" stir fry type thing. TFS!
Always looking for a keto rice replacement! Never had daikon before! Looking forward to trying this.
I did keto fried rice with cauliflower rice on my Channel and it came out pretty close to real rice texture the way I made it.
I give you both credit, I barely made it through the beginning of the video. I do know my mind tends to the gutter. 😂😂😂
And then she said, "Will it fit in the hole" 😂😅
I was thinking about hash browns when you were cooking the shreds in the pan…I miss hash browns🫤😁
See @debbiek493 comment. She put a recipe she says makes them taste like fried potatoes! We can hope!
Thin slice some radishes ..thin slice some onion..fry them until crispy in a little oil. You will swear you are eating hash browns!
You lovely ladies always find a way to make me laugh!
lol! Thank you mark
If you vertical slice the veg so as to create what some call "straws" then feed in as a straw bundle you should get shorter "grains" automatically. Long grains look more like the vermicelli in Lipon soup. Either way, I'm sure the radish will be great cooked up as a side.
I never laughed so hard. You too are simply adorable.
🥴🙈
I haven't made any of your demos yet. I just enjoy watching your videos. You ladies are so hysterical and fun to watch.
Emily use a knife to chop to smaller pieces. Also if your processor blade has large and small size holes, small on one side flip it over large on the other. Use large, plus press firmly as you process, you get larger or thicker shreds.
I used daikon for noodles in stirfry the other day. And it was great.
I would dry the shreds in the oven and add about a tablespoon of unflavored gelatin. This will mix with the liquid leaving the daikon and create a bit of the starch texture to your riced daikon.
Hmmm that’s an interesting idea!
My daughter/son in law lived in Korea for a year. They ate daikon radish fried, pickled, shredded in a salad. Many different ways. When my s-in-lw makes Korean food, he always fries daikon radishes.
Water content in cauliflower 92%, water content in daikon radish 91%.
The Diakon Radish looks like it would make a Great Hashbrown. I'm definitely going to try this recipe and I'm going to try and make a Hashbrown out of it also. Thank You Sara and Emily!! 👍🏼👍🏼😁😁
I guess you could do Mexican or Asian theme. Just use spices accordingly. I like this dish!😊
I make blistered green beans with cherry tomatoes and daikon and it’s delicious.
OMG! That daikon video is hilarious! Thank you for a humongous laugh it is such a joy to watch you two!!😂🤣😝🌼😂
Hehe thanks Hillary 😂🤗🤗
Use the chopping blade til you get it small bits, then put in cheese cloth and squeeze the water out, or mix a little salt then squeeze water out.
What a riot! I just bought a daikon a few days ago (not quite as wiggly as yours😂), and I’ve been looking for ways to use it, other than shredded in my lunch salad. This recipe is actually the kind of thing I’ve been thinking of. I agree with you about squeezing the water from it, maybe in muslin or a kitchen towel, before starting to cook and incorporate it with the rest of the ingredients. Maybe I’ll roast it in my air fryer’s mesh basket to get the water out and add some color to it also, before adding the “slurry.” Thanks!
If I ever find one of those radishes, I will grated it and dehydrate the pieces in a food dehydrator. A dehydrator does a good job so, I think that would work the best.
ooohhh… same cooking but with Thai seasonings‼️ add egg and make Pad Thai 😋 yum
Haha. I have been eating that for over a year now Trader Joe’s has it in spaghetti form. I make it with garlic, olive oil and hot chili flakes and it’s amazing.
Really? I’ve never seen it!
@@ketotwins they are Trader Joe’s kholrabi noodles. Come in a bag in produce section. Delicious. Like the texture. I need an Al dente type of texture. Cannot do the hearts of palm
It’s a nice change. Next time I’m going to try them with some Bolognese sauce but again they are excellent with grated cheese, olive oil, and chili flakes and garlic. If you have a Trader Joe’s by you look for them they always have them see what else you can do with them. I’ll be looking forward to it. Lol. Love your content.
You guys are so entertaining! Love your videos ❤ xx
❤️🤗
Makes sense! Roasted red radishes are used in pot pies instead of potatoes. Probably would make good hasbrowns too.
I bet if it was boiled and put through a ricer tool, it would be more like rice grains.
It almost looks like rice noodles. Could daikon be a substitute for Rice Noodles? I'd love to see you try that!
Aldi has hearts of palm rice that’s pretty good. But it’s stored in acidic liquid that takes awhile to wash off.
Hi, Girls! That was a good experiment. As you finished up, noting the long threads, it occurred to me that either roasted or microwaved spaghetti squash, spread out on a good sized cutting board, and minced with a large knife, might be useful for that recipe, as the color would be softened from the spices. And, spaghetti squash is lower in moisture already, with a sweet flavor not unlike rice. (I make a sort of rice porridge/ rice pudding with the s.s.- so good! ) anyway, thanks for your efforts! -🤗 Patty in New Hampshire
Omg!!! Stop waving that around 😂😂 love your videos ❤
Maybe you could try jicama as a rice substitute. I love you guys
You two kill me!!❤❤
🥴🤗🙈
This looks like a great keto rice recipe! I think if you just give it a rough chop after you shred it in the food processor, it might be more "rice" like. But really, who cares. As long as it tastes good. 🙂
The beginning was hilarious. 😂
Do you think that they will brown with some butter in the pan, after the “drying” stage?
It would be cool if they would work as a faux hash brown. I’d put a couple over easy eggs on top and let the yolk blend into them.
Yes! The brown up nicely, stay tuned!
Sweet!!!
Do you think you might be able to use these for a hashed browns substitute? If you grate these, and add onion and egg, they might be a pretty good hash brown substitute, or to make "potato" pancakes or latkes.
Daikon aren't bitter like red radishes. They are delightful pickled or kimchied too.
Ooh, time to try daikon radish. I saw a recipe for braised daikon somewhere in my travels. I wonder if you could sub it for potato in beef stew.
Yes! It’s perfect for that
I use regular radishes for that! Just throw them in whole or halved about 45 minutes to an hour before serving!
So funny. I have worked in a produce department for 10 years and have never seen a floppy daikon radish. They should be more firm, like a parsnip. Maybe a fresher one would have less moisture. They are wonderful and good for you.
That floppy, decaying daikon radish has a disturbingly phallic appearance! LOL!
😅❤️
Looks very tasty. Thanks for sharing.😊
Great vid! Love daikon.. Emily ..dark green looks fab on you!!
Thanks Susan!
Your rraddish was very limp, should be firm...lol..I couldn't stop laughing😂😂😂😂😂. Absolutely love you both and all your videos..Vicky
🫠😅
I use daikon radishes to make “potato soup.”
😂 That is too much!!! I don't know how you filmed. Will give it a try.❤❤
You guys are hilarious and awesome!!❤
If you shred it and salt it a bit and let it sit in the fridge in a strainer overnight it will lose most of its water
Hand grater might be better? Looks delicious 😋
Instead of Daikon, try turnips or rutabaga rice. Both, if cooked correctly, are a delicious keto option.
You are so funny, love it! ❤️ wish I could find it where I live but don't think so. Keep up the great work!
You can download Instacart just to use it to check where products are in your area, you don’t have to order but we use it to see what stores have products and produce in stock near us :)
Following you for yrs. Lmao😅😂 I can't even..... Sooooo funny!
Love from Ontario, Canada.
🤗😂
I miss potatoes so I'm going to try this. Maybe because it's a hidden treasure vegetable it might be cheaper. Hope so!😊
Haha 😂 too funny!
What a wiggly radish 😂 I love those daikon
But never thought of using it like this amazing 🤩
Wonder if you can spiralize it, cook it dry like you guys just did, and use as noodles?
Love your videos - maybe next time when you try something New take a little to the side BEFORE you added the flavor so we can see and hear your thoughts about it when it’s just cooked plain👍😉
Rice noddles😂 I love to watch your videos, you guys are funny with your craziness. I love you both❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Do hashbrowns!
I love your recipes you are so funny. what I think you made is mexican rice because Spanish rice has saffron and no cumin. Thanks for the recipe I'm going to make it.
A restaurant here has a garnish they call potato straws that the grated radish reminded me of. Now I’m wondering how it would do as potato chips, hash browns & noodles. Do you think they have too much moisture to fry?
Yum… I see Tai food with that daikon😊❤
Have you tried the egg white and collagen? Maria's Emmerich recipe?
We have not! Sounds interesting
I can’t. I’ve watched exactly 54 seconds and I’m laughing so hard I’m going to wake up my sleeping family. 😂
😂😂
Is that a radish or you happy to see me 😂
Daikon get wiggly when chilled too much in the fridge.
Rather than using shredding blade, why not just place with the regular blade and process like cauliflower rice?
I think I might try this with ground beef, kind of like a dirty rice.
Do you think you could keep to the Shredded daikon and make them into a skillet hash brown??!!!
We have made it before as a hash! It’s pretty good
Oh my!🫣🤣
Great video! I wonder if you sliced it, would it work as layers in lasagna?? 🤔
I was wondering the same thing
Possibly! Maybe par boil them before layering or they might be crunchy
You guys are killing it today 😂 you know you could have just squeezed the gated daikon out first, eh
when i make cauliflower rice, i squeeze it in a tea towel/ kitchen towel
Kind of looks like hashbrowns. Could you add the “potato extract flavoring” you just got and add it to this to make hashbrowns? Would love to see that 😮
Find a dish that will allow You to soak it in some cool water for a couple hours & it will crisp back up; this method can be used with any wilted veggie like celery, greens, carrots etc.
But if You want dry daikon then it is already pretty dehydrated 🤪🤕
Thanks girls 😘
Thank you
I bet if you whirled them in a blender with water, like you can do for cauli rice..it would be more rice like?
Maybe mix cauliflower and daikon.
Thanks for the tip. Question; Do you think rice daikon work for onigiri, making it a keto version?
Hrmmm I think cauliflower rice with a little cream cheese to make it sticky works to make sushi so maybe it would work for onigiri
Hmmm we aren’t sure! Possibly! we’ve never made that even out of cauliflower rice
@@ketotwins Ok, I’ll let you guys know. I’m also going to try your scallop gratin.
@@ketotwins Ok, thanks.
It looks like it could be used to make hash browns.
I am wondering how this would be as hash browns.
maybe cut .5 to .25 inch thick planks and shred that to look like rice?
It's probably almost no carbs without the water in the radish. Isn't that where all of the sweetness is.?
Hmmmm you might be right!
Very interesting ladies!
Yum!! ❤
Daikon radishes should be firm when purchased
That's a great-great-grandpa daikon
😂
How did you find those? Were you going to eat it from the beginning?
We found them at our local international market
😂🤣😂…you guys are so fun.
❤️
