How to FIX SHIN SPLINTS Stretches and Exercises for Runners

  • Shin splints are common for runners, walkers, hiking and tennis...
    Here I show you how to get rid of shin splints so you can run without pain in the lower leg.
    First I break down the primary causes of shin splints then help you learn how to strengthen the muscles in the front part of the shin...
    break up the tight calves and muscles that pull on the tibia / shin bone...
    and improve your running gait to help prevent shin splints from coming back.
    The main causes of shin splints are...
    1. overstriding while running
    2. undertraining and increasing the load too quickly
    3. running on hard surfaces
    4. tight calf and posterior muscles which pull on the tibia bone
    So what can you do to get rid of shin pain?
    First start to run on softer surfaces, work on your running form by not overstriding, start to break up and stretch your tight calves, improve your ankle function and mobility and strengthen the anterior tibialis...
    plus I show you the best stretch to increase ankle movement and stretch out your shin.

      this was my problem.. i thought i had extensor tendonitis but it was just shin splints really low on my foot due to tight calves

      hey ,if anyone else is searching for shin muscle pain try Mackorny Run Fast Blueprint ( search on google )?
      It is a good one off guide for getting rid of shin splints minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my neighbor got great success with it.

    These suggestions are very helpful. I can feel that they are giving me better stretches than I was getting before. But I wonder how reps to do and how often to do them?

    I have pain from my immobile hips, groin, knees ,shin splints, and inflexible ankles. I think it's from the injuries and basketball on concrete. What would you recommend (exercise/stretch routine),that would get my body back healthy? I'm only 36 n the pain has become too much,thx. Great video also.

    Do you have to land on toes or the whole foot when running?

      Usually suggest mid foot to forefoot.
      Not whole foot or toes

    Doc you're awesome, very helpful suggestions, im recently started running and bitch shin splints are kicking my ass 😭😭😭 I just bought a foam roller and I'm starting to use it.       it depends, as everyone is different. If you try these, try fixing your form and running on soft surfaces and it's getting worse and worse then you should probably take some time off

    It is a good exclusive guide for getting rid of shin splints minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy got amazing success with it.
