Lots of people have been saying that rosamine may not wind up as the queen or ruler of anything, but that her insane rampages may result in her being responsible for the person who does take the throne. I think this is a pretty good prediction. She's going to get all annoyed and do a bunch of crazy stuff to get back to reading, and that's going to result in the next ruler being crowned by her indirectly.

Praise the gods. A new update. When I read Anastasius' side-story, I deeply felt the dread Eglantine must've felt at the beginning. Imagine the guy thats pursuing you ordering your presence and saying that Rozemyne told him "many things". For her, it must have felt like the ivory-tower had for Wilfried, being led to he downfall.
Honestly it should have been, imagine if it had been Sigiswald who called her, jesus. This ONLY worked out so well because Anastasius is head over heels obsessed with her

Sigiswald and Anastasius waging a war just to get her hand in marriage in order for one of them to become king. However, Anastasius took Rozemyne's alternative which is to become a vassal royal and convince Eglantine that he doesn't seek the throne and give up his right to Sigiswald so that no war will declared.
I will always respect Rihyarda for having the common sense to just... sit Rozemyne down and talk with her, as opposed to just shouting at her and expecting her to understand things she had no way of knowing. Really shows how much more mature and experienced she is compared to Rozemyne's other noble guardians.

Completely understanding and in control of the situation one second and doing something beyond comprehension the next. In fact, she tells Rose mindless that she considers herself a third-grade attendance, because she can’t figure out what rosemyne wants in advance because she doesn’t understand her.
It's easy to overlook some characters with how huge the cast is, but Rihyarda was spot on here. As much as all her other guardians try to, it feels like no one else has actually put in the effort to understand her
When you stop and think about it, Rosemyne is truly impressive in her ability to adapt to noble culture. Yeah she makes a lot of slip ups but you have to consider there are many factors working against her: she's a reincarnation in a completely different world to the one she remembers, she was born a commoner not a noble, she's working on a moral compass from modern day Earth instead of a medieval European society, and she's given relatively little guidance from her guardians. Sure they teach her a lot, but teaching and nurturing aren't the same thing. I've seen it be pointed out before, but Rosemyne isn't really treated like a child by her guardians, but as a small adult (remember that at least Ferdinand, Karstedt and Sylvester know about her reincarnation). This is what leads to them becoming exasperated with her poor social skills: they're subconsciously comparing her to an adult noble. I've also seen some people point out how a lot of Rosemyne's mistakes could've been avoided if Ferdinand was better at communicating (ironically the same thing he chastises Rosemyne about). He always says the bare minimum, which is rarely enough for Rosemyne to actually understand since he subconsciously expects her to read between the lines. This leads to Rosemyne making mistakes and him berating her for them when really its a failing on his part as her teacher and guardian.
I love the part with Traugott. Showing how someone can talk shit about her but as soon as they look down on the people she cares about she's done and has not a shred of sympathy to spare. Also almost every interaction with the prince had me laugh out loud. While at the time I often didn't have the full context just imagining how he is used to being treated and her actions/words going completely against that was absolutely hilarious.

Being in part 5 now and understanding Yurgenschmit socializing (minus the slam poetry) looking back at this part gives me second hand cringe. It's such good writing. There is so much reread value in this series
My favorite part was re-reading Anastasius' interactions with Rozemyne, he's such a dork and Rozemyne cannot even take him seriously. Seems like she has forgotten the proper etiquette at socializing with the royalty whenever they meet along.
Honestly, we should've expected Rosemyne to be pretty good tactician. Not only has she read a bunch of books on Ditter and battle tactics, she's likely listened to stories from Karstedt as well. Not to mention she's also the daughter of a soldier so she's got that knack for warfare in her blood.
I would argue that having survived a total of two attempts on her life and being around here three guardian as help. Here time spent trying to out Fox Ferdinand has made her the way she is.
She has already read some of Angelica's ditter books in order to teach her how to pass her exams because Angelica is a muscle-head who doesn't think much. Her commoner father being a soldier could probably have influenced her competitiveness in battle.

Every book in part 4 is so damn good, but especially the parts in the school. A good magic school setting is hard to beat. BTW are you going to cover Royal Academy Stories V1? They are really fun, but on top of that contain huge revelations that I was amazed weren't in the main story.

yeah, well, theres a reason why we go all in on teaching kids to "do right" Because thats how it always have been, super unfair, even in todays world all it takes is one stupid mistake to fuck up you life. If we go down that rabit hole we also end with no one can be blamed for their mistakes as we all just cogs in the machine of life. Yet counter to that is thent that even if you cant be blamed for you own actions the punishment for them you will still get as they to are part of the machine. Its a good example of why main characters journey to the top will leave alot for unlucky side characters fall down. Only 1 can win the race, thats the cruelty of life.
Love watching the series being retold this way! Love the jokes you write. And the recap makes me want to read the volume bests chapters and see what interesting little tidbits you may have left out so we can read the volume ourselves.

First. I love your videos. You always point out something in book i completely missed. Second. Can you also do Royal Academy stories - first year? They show events from first 3 books from different point of view and also sums up what happened during whole year.
That was quick and caught me completely by surprise (a very happy surprise), even messes up with my calculations - I expected based on the current rate of the recaps and the light novel translation and expected number of the light novels, to see this series catching up with the translations around p5 v8
As far as the early part 4 books, I believe this is my favorite. If you include the Royal academy stories first year along with this book as more or less a complete book, it is definitely my favorite. We get that early Hannelore before her corruption, and Rozemyne is still concerned about her bookworm friend and how that friend sees her...
Spoiler: I love the small detail thrown in about Benno and possibly one of his motivations (aside from money) for really pushing to save Myne- "Myne had given Lutz consoling smiles even when enduring the tremendous pain of the Devouring. Benno's childhood sweetheart from when he was thirteen had also endured it, and the way she had screamed when the heat welled up out of nowhere stuck with him to this day. His brows knitted as he thought back to that girl, the love of his life whom he had failed to save."

Yes, it’s definitely in this book. I shouldn’t have said anything before I finished. Or maybe read the whole book before I watch these. I’m not sure how I feel about it. But it does appear to be foreshadowed. A little bit. But it means Beno should have immediately recognize the signs that she had the devouring. He didn’t, but Freda did. 🤷🏻♂️
Let me be clear here ... Do you plan to also cover Royal Academy Stories at some point? Just putting it out there, since there are a few passages where I got confused about this issue until it was cleared up later: When Eglantine's parents and older siblings died her biological grandfather was the Aub Klassenberg and adopted her as his "daughter" to keep her safe. But he has since stepped down and passed the title to his son, Eglantine's biological uncle. So when someone mentions the previous Aub Klassenberg, they mean Eglantine's biological grandfather/adoptive father. And when they just say Aub Klassenberg, that's the current one, i.e. her uncle. Despite stepping down from the Aub position, her grandfather still holds considerable influence in his home. Also yes, Eglantine is the cousin of the princes. Their respective fathers were brothers. But that's also why it's not an issue for marriage. In that world it matters mostly who the mothers were for nobles, since mana is majorily inherited from the mother. This goes so far that even half-siblings may marry, as long as they are from the same father with different mothers, but not the other way around. To be fair to Rozemyne, once the tea party with the music professors concluded, she was in too deep to get out anyway (and one could argue that she had little to no chance to steer clear even before then). When Eglantine or Anastasius make a request she can hardly turn them down, seeing as how one is an archduke candidate from the number 1 duchy and the other a prince. As much as others complain to her, there was really little anyone could have done in her position to not get entangled, even if they were fully trained in socializing, which Rozemyne very much is not. Which is another reason why she shouldn't really be blamed. All the stuff she messes up is the stuff they couldn't teach her due to her 2 year coma and focussing entirely on academics in the short window between her waking up and going to the academy or the stuff that was well outside her control to begin with. Fun little side-note: Lestilaut's name essentially comes from the combining the German words lästig and laut, which mean annoying and loud respectively. So he's Lord Annoyloud if you will. :) Something similar goes for Professor Womanoise or Fraularm, who featured in the previous volume. ^^

Just a reminder for scale and context of the world. Rozemyne's books are 1 small gold and 8 large silver. So at 3 large golds the borrowing a book from the library is over 16 times more expensive.
In terms of writing, Rozemyne is like an unknown and wild factor, that inserted itself into a school setting otome game. She made her didn't students, who should've just been background characters, rise up to ruin and threaten the standing of every other duchy there but she's also taken a pair of magical relics that could've counted as a mcguffin defense items of a heroine and cemented proper understanding between one of the princes and ladies

Thanks for having this series! After the anime, I wanted more and found your videos and loved them! I loved them so much that I bought the books for part 3 to get a better view of the world!
For the character comments/jokes used throughout the video I think it would help visibility on smaller (cellphone) screens if you inverted the colors (white fill/black border versus the current black fill/white boarder) As it stands it's hard to read most of what's written if it's not displayed on a very bright (almost completely white) background.
Your work has given me much greater enjoyment to/of my rereads. The dots you connect have also added much to my Respect for the author and her ability!
I must point out that even though Rozemyne made quite a lot of problems half of these problems are acually more faults of Ferdinand and Sylvester than her(something which is later pointed out by Florencia). Ferdinand went really crazy preparing her for studies but never once tell her anything about socialization and simply assumed noble common sense(something Rozemyne is missing). He was hopping that Elvira and Florencia would teach her but when you think about it. Even without jureve, Rozemyne is spending really lot of time in temple so they really dont talk to each other that much. Basically nobody ever really taught Rozemyne how to socialize and simply throw her to the sharks. Also Sylvester not knowing about another potential succesion crisis really tells how he is absolutelly clueless about kingdom politics even though he is aub.
Ferdinand is at fault for not reminding Rozemyne to socialize with the other duchies because he literally sucks at socializing because he's too busy at finishing three academy courses all at once while he's studying at the Royal Academy.

Every book in part 4 is so damn good, but especially the parts in the school. A good magic school setting is hard to beat. BTW are you going to cover Royal Academy Stories V1? They are really fun, but on top of that contain huge revelations that I was amazed weren't in the main story.

If we go down that rabit hole we also end with no one can be blamed for their mistakes as we all just cogs in the machine of life.
Yet counter to that is thent that even if you cant be blamed for you own actions the punishment for them you will still get as they to are part of the machine.
Its a good example of why main characters journey to the top will leave alot for unlucky side characters fall down.

That was quick and caught me completely by surprise (a very happy surprise), even messes up with my calculations - I expected based on the current rate of the recaps and the light novel translation and expected number of the light novels, to see this series catching up with the translations around p5 v8
As far as the early part 4 books, I believe this is my favorite. If you include the Royal academy stories first year along with this book as more or less a complete book, it is definitely my favorite. We get that early Hannelore before her corruption, and Rozemyne is still concerned about her bookworm friend and how that friend sees her...

Spoiler: I love the small detail thrown in about Benno and possibly one of his motivations (aside from money) for really pushing to save Myne- "Myne had given Lutz consoling smiles even when enduring the tremendous pain of the Devouring. Benno's childhood sweetheart from when he was thirteen had also endured it, and the way she had screamed when the heat welled up out of nowhere stuck with him to this day. His brows knitted as he thought back to that girl, the love of his life whom he had failed to save."

Just putting it out there, since there are a few passages where I got confused about this issue until it was cleared up later:
When Eglantine's parents and older siblings died her biological grandfather was the Aub Klassenberg and adopted her as his "daughter" to keep her safe. But he has since stepped down and passed the title to his son, Eglantine's biological uncle. So when someone mentions the previous Aub Klassenberg, they mean Eglantine's biological grandfather/adoptive father. And when they just say Aub Klassenberg, that's the current one, i.e. her uncle. Despite stepping down from the Aub position, her grandfather still holds considerable influence in his home.
Also yes, Eglantine is the cousin of the princes. Their respective fathers were brothers. But that's also why it's not an issue for marriage. In that world it matters mostly who the mothers were for nobles, since mana is majorily inherited from the mother. This goes so far that even half-siblings may marry, as long as they are from the same father with different mothers, but not the other way around.
To be fair to Rozemyne, once the tea party with the music professors concluded, she was in too deep to get out anyway (and one could argue that she had little to no chance to steer clear even before then). When Eglantine or Anastasius make a request she can hardly turn them down, seeing as how one is an archduke candidate from the number 1 duchy and the other a prince. As much as others complain to her, there was really little anyone could have done in her position to not get entangled, even if they were fully trained in socializing, which Rozemyne very much is not. Which is another reason why she shouldn't really be blamed. All the stuff she messes up is the stuff they couldn't teach her due to her 2 year coma and focussing entirely on academics in the short window between her waking up and going to the academy or the stuff that was well outside her control to begin with.
Fun little side-note: Lestilaut's name essentially comes from the combining the German words lästig and laut, which mean annoying and loud respectively. So he's Lord Annoyloud if you will. :)
Something similar goes for Professor Womanoise or Fraularm, who featured in the previous volume. ^^

Really like your explanation, i read the light novel but it's still hard for me to imagine in my head because English is not my first language especially the ditter part.
The problems caused by rosemynes , infatuation with books causes problems in more than just this part. It is the entire basis for the series.

In terms of writing, Rozemyne is like an unknown and wild factor, that inserted itself into a school setting otome game.
She made her didn't students, who should've just been background characters, rise up to ruin and threaten the standing of every other duchy there but she's also taken a pair of magical relics that could've counted as a mcguffin defense items of a heroine and cemented proper understanding between one of the princes and ladies

For the character comments/jokes used throughout the video I think it would help visibility on smaller (cellphone) screens if you inverted the colors (white fill/black border versus the current black fill/white boarder)
As it stands it's hard to read most of what's written if it's not displayed on a very bright (almost completely white) background.

I must point out that even though Rozemyne made quite a lot of problems half of these problems are acually more faults of Ferdinand and Sylvester than her(something which is later pointed out by Florencia). Ferdinand went really crazy preparing her for studies but never once tell her anything about socialization and simply assumed noble common sense(something Rozemyne is missing). He was hopping that Elvira and Florencia would teach her but when you think about it. Even without jureve, Rozemyne is spending really lot of time in temple so they really dont talk to each other that much. Basically nobody ever really taught Rozemyne how to socialize and simply throw her to the sharks. Also Sylvester not knowing about another potential succesion crisis really tells how he is absolutelly clueless about kingdom politics even though he is aub.
Ferdinand is at fault for not reminding Rozemyne to socialize with the other duchies because he literally sucks at socializing because he's too busy at finishing three academy courses all at once while he's studying at the Royal Academy.
