One thing I will always find hilarious is everyone looking down on Rozemyne, seeing her as this naive, little, fragile saint, not realising that the moment she targets you as an enemy, Rozemyne easily becomes a threat bigger than the Lord of Evil himself.
@darkglass3011 not sure it's chaos, but progress and change. Change can lead to Chaos, but true change veers towards complexity as it intermingles with order.

Rozemyne: "Ferdinand has lots of books, prioritizes my health, and is very reliable... Wait, is Ferdinand a catch?" My favorite lines of the series so far!
As I said on the forums when the Battle for Gerlach dropped... Matthias's response to his father was "Lol, look at this pitiful scrublord who devotes himself to a Lady who doesn't care if he lives or dies. Behold the power of serving someone who's _actually_ worthy."
Well, unfortunately, Grausam is unable to understand it. He needs to believe Mathias is serving Rozemyne because he's expecting her help, he can't accept his son's dedication isn't less than his own, just without Grausam's insanity, and that Rozemyne lend a hand just because she considers it her duty. Grausam can't accept reality because his dedication to Georgine is what makes his whole ego in the first place, not the kind of belief one can dismiss at all ;).
The way you make Grausam talk is pretty funny, and quite spot on in my opinion. Poor Grausam, if only he was half as smart as he believes he is, he would have understood long ago that it makes no sense for Ferdinand to have woken up a morning having suddenly gained an interest in food and sweets in particular and in women's clothes, beauty products and accessories out of nowhere. How one can genuinely believe Rozemyne's trends are, in fact, Ferdinand's is beyond me. Looking down on the presumed origins of Rozemyne is a thing, but someone smart wouldn't have overlooked first that they have no proof of those origins ( not as if Bezewanst was a smart and trustworthy individual in the first place ) and second that Rozemyne's trends being Ferdinand's need way more baseless hypothesis than just Rozemyne's trends being Rozemyne's. And that's yet another utter defeat against the Ockham Razor :p.
I wonder who all those Body-doubles of Georgine and Gerlach are. They are brought to the brink of death so that they can be dyed with their mana. But they are also educated enough to pass as archnobles in social settings. They are also loyal enough not to immediately blow their lord's cover and arrogant enough to be insulted by a commoner attacking them.
They're devoring children bound with submission contracts, physically multalted , and forcible dyed. Only if all steps work then are they trained to living meat shields for their masters
I just made it back to the second half of season one last night after having rewatched the last three episodes of this playlist. Kudos on the synchronicity win.
Gunther, being like i will end this magic beast with the help of my amazing daughter, and Damuel having to calm him down, proves Gunther is the man willing to attack nobles at the temple to protect his daughter
This volume does have my favorite scene in the whole series: Ferdinand and Rozemyne in the secret room. Her refusing to stop hugging him without realizing the effect she is having is just perfect.
The trauma was so wonderfully done and really made my heart cry out for Rozemyne. And the moment you are told that it is not just Rozemyne (who is particularly strongly averse to bloodshed) but all the young knights that are having to really deal with this mentally. And the entire scene in the garden with her gal-pal was really the highlight for me, maybe one of the best in this whole series. And again the world building: of course flower offerings would be there for the young knights. It makes a lot of sense as weird as it sounds to us it fits so well with how the world was set up.
I really enjoy these recaps they make my Monday morning really wonderful ever since I found this channel. I just very much enjoy the way you recap the story, and your perspective on the events and how everything is going down. Also, I feel like you changed your hair up and it’s super cute
Thanks, I was waiting for this & love your read on this great story with the explanation on it. I can't wait till the next book so please do the next one soon & no I can't do discord. So, I have no idea when you put this on & on what days.
You know remembering about the Lanzenave estate backstory makes me think that maybe humanity shouldn't have magic and direct connection to the gods, the desire or greed for that alone seems to have driven people from places that don't have magic to do some really heinous shit. Shutting all the country gates and remaining a highly stratified feudal fantasy society that barely functions post-civil war was maybe not that bad of an idea for rest of the world at least, like we know places like Lanzenave are technologically advancing, which ties into why those Lanzenavian royals and their followers are so keen on jumping ship to Yurgenschmidt.
Its always fun to hear your opinion on the story and also seeing you get this out there so more people can hopefully read it. :) I think I would say that the moment with Sylvester is less about him being lucky, and more about showing how Georgine never made connections with people, and made so many contingencies upon contingencies she ended up being hoisted by her own petard - Sylvester would have never left the foundation if there wasn't any dopplegangers of her.
I like Sylvester so much, he does such a good job from such a bad position in my opinion as archduke. He is not cut out for it from how he is so swayed by his feeling to the ineptitude he has for paperwork. Like you said he was raised as a puppet. And yet! He comes through so many times and does a lot of good that other dukes never would have done such as the whole Rozemyne situation. Even if many things like the adoption with name swearing came from Rozemyne, Sylvester took that upon himself and made it work where no other duke (that we no of) would even take such an idea serious. If anything Sylvester is good at adapting to new developments, he can lament it so but he always pulls through once he set's his mind to it. Such a good character among many very good characters, his wife does not nearly get the screen time or importance he get's but she also shines in all the moments she is in. Being a true representation of what a noble is supposed to be with a massive but hidden undercurrent of love.
So I've been slowly accruing the light novels now that it's wrapped up. Holy shit it has been impossible to get my hands on volume 3 that isn't an illegal reproduction from Malaysia
Better the Gorgiane or Detline. And he is letting Rosemyne improve the Dutch, and it was his move to adopt her. His nephew took R I semyne advice on spring pray before proof so he has potential
@ And that’s the thing, if Gorgiane stopped feeling sort for herself and actually TRIED, she could have been an amazing leader too. I sure as crap know her Dutchy wouldn’t have been fail as much as it did if she did.
1:31:45 Veronica: "Roze...myne?" I had hoped that Veronica's reaction wasn't just confusion but that maybe, just maybe she realized that Rozemyne was Myne the commoner blue robe she conspired to kidnap leading to her brother's execution. I was hoping the scene was ending with her realizing that she screwed up at that moment but considering the story never returns to her, seems she really did not have any clue about Sylvester's plan to adopt Myne into the family as Rozemyne.
Can we all just appreciate how OP our gremlin is, that the book has to actively nerf her. Our girl has never been without a status effect weakening her throughout the whole book.
Right? Part of my excitement over season 3 of the anime is that a whole new chunk of people may not only get to enjoy Bookworm for the first time, but also find their way over and enjoy the hell out of these masterpiece recaps

This whole "If you pray to god of life, other buff you got from other god will be lost" is a good RPG balance in game design, and in the Bookworm canon, it is backed by convincing lore. Usually, before the boss fight the White Mage will buff the whole party with bazzillion buff, now if Bookworm is a RPG, you can't just universally buff with everything. Either give offensive buff from praying to god of life or supportive buff from praying to other gods.
The nitpick I have about that bit is that we know full and well that 7 color blessings are possible. And that from what we manage to do get elaborated from magic circles, Earth element is the key to that. Geduldh is thematically and literally the wild card that can bind together the other elements where they would otherwise conflict, even Life for all his reprehensible sins. Therefore, I like to think if Myne prayed to Geduldh, she might've been able to truly deck out Matthias with the full set.
I will forever call Sigiswald the bookless wonder! I find it hard to believe Rozemyne ever agreed to marry that book hating loser to begin with let their engagement be ended once and for all!
I have to disagree about the PTSD arc. It just seems too abrupt and intense to me. Rozemyne had seen her fair share of death and destruction by this point in the story, and nothing has affected her to the extent of causing a crippling phobia. I get that real-world PTSD doesn't always make logical sense, but this IS a story; it needs narrative consistency. Add in that [SPOILER] it's resolved by actual divine intervention, and the whole plot point comes across as poorly thought out.
I mean Rozemyne has always been traumatized by death remember Hasse's executions? Or even passing out after watching a pig get butchered. It makes sense that going to actual war and watching scores of knights die brutally would fuck her up. And her phobia is never resolved. Even in the little epilogue comic Hartmut uses paper airplanes to communicate with her not an actual ordanonnz
@@nickkeller1475 I'm not saying it shouldn't have had any effect on her, just that it seems way too severe. Yes, she has been shown to be averse to violence and bloodshed, but she still has been exposed to plenty of both; and yes, she has been affected by trauma in the past, but she has been able to overcome it without too much difficulty. This is Rozemyne's established character. I understand that there needed to be a plot complication, but this just feels like a rare misstep to me... I suppose I should have said 'ameliorated' instead of 'resolved', but that was changed between the webnovel and the light novel, so I've had less time to consider it.
I hard disagree, friend. The narrative of the battle (gestures to all of that shit) makes it pretty clear how traumatic her forced march thru enemy forces was, and then you have the entire Grausam fight (Roz literally panics at the end, making Lessy bigger is just an instinct thing, not an actual strategy, like the blessings were), the many mentions of feystones making noise whils falling to the ground, us and Roz being reminded over and over again to associate feystones with corpses, death and decay - and then it culminates with Sylvester placing Georgine's feystone in from of her.... honestly I cant see where you disgreement is even coming from. WN text calls it PTSD, or rather, Myne calls it to herself, once, in a way very similar to how people who read about it talk about it, and THAT felt a bit off to me when I read it for the first time, but again, even so it fits Myne's habits of pulling from past readings to explain things to herself or others (something the story will lean a bit more to show how different post-memory sealing Myne is from pre-memory sealing Myne). LN removed it, and I know what was said about it when it happened, but I see it as a win - it makes the reader deal with Myne's emotions and stress in a more organic fashion.
@@RbDaP if it works for you, then that's great. I don't want to pretend that my problems are categorical truths. Mainly, my issue is structural: the phobia is introduced, causes problems for a couple of volumes, and then is essentially dropped from the story - even though the light novel brings it back at the end. I'm not saying it isn't handled well within the story itself, but it just feels jarring to me.
a lot of you dont get this but the entire battle for gerlach was pointless. slyvester kills his sister, the geib would have died because he is name sworn. all the invaders with nobody let them in would have just had to go home.
It wasn't pointless, just not very impactful in the grand scheme of things. The noble population of Gerlach would have been devastated by Grausam without Rozemyne and Dunkelfelger, possibly pulling Bonifatius into the fray and maybe leading to his death as well. There's also the psychological aspect that multiple characters say Rozemyne's arrival eased their mind by making Gerlach one less thing to worry about. It's hard to say if that slight stress relief made it easier to focus for them, but I think it's easy to believe more mistakes could have been made if they were also worried about Gerlach's situation. Though I think in a narrative sense, it gives closure to Rozemyne and Matthias by killing Grausam. It matters more on a personal level than impacting the result of war in Ehrenfest.
Rozemyne is officially 13, about to turn 14. Though years run a bit longer in Yurgenschmidt than Earth. Myne is 14, about to turn 15, and Urano was 22 when she died since she just graduated college. If you add the time she's been aware inside Myne her accumulated years come to 31, not adjusting for Yurgenschmidt's longer years. Ferdinand is 27 at this point in the story, maybe 28 as his birth season is officially Spring, but whether he was actually born then isn't known.
One thing I will always find hilarious is everyone looking down on Rozemyne, seeing her as this naive, little, fragile saint, not realising that the moment she targets you as an enemy, Rozemyne easily becomes a threat bigger than the Lord of Evil himself.
She learned from the best
If Ferdinand is the Lord of Evil, then Rozemyne is the Lady of Chaos.
@darkglass3011 not sure it's chaos, but progress and change. Change can lead to Chaos, but true change veers towards complexity as it intermingles with order.
@perrymeril honestly they both work. I do think chaos fits better because chaos begets change and change begets progress

Jail that's what he means ..... I fell out of my chair that was to funny😅😅😅😅
Oh new background
Nice

Nothing to do with the content of the video, but the fluffy hair looks GREAT on you 😍
Awesome 🎉 even though I read all the book already I enjoy listening to your videos 😊
Myne got her bloody carnival. It wasn't what she expected.
Love your comments that's why I keep.comming back ❤❤😂😂😂
Your hairstyle is great!
Rozemyne and Ferdinand are my ace power couple for ever
Ferdinand's radiant smile returns (26:29)😂😂😂😂

Bookworm summary time lets goooo! 😊 also might i say sir trashteir you hair looks great!
Yes! New video!🎉❤
Damn, the hair looks good
"Jail" 🤣

very nicely dun,thank you
We want more, as soon as possible
New Videoooo!!!
I think her trauma is more from that fact that she realized when ppl die they turn into feystone.
looking slim, king

Isn't rosemyne like 40 I think she's older than Ferdinand?
Rozemyne is officially 13, about to turn 14. Though years run a bit longer in Yurgenschmidt than Earth. Myne is 14, about to turn 15, and Urano was 22 when she died since she just graduated college. If you add the time she's been aware inside Myne her accumulated years come to 31, not adjusting for Yurgenschmidt's longer years. Ferdinand is 27 at this point in the story, maybe 28 as his birth season is officially Spring, but whether he was actually born then isn't known.
@@TrashTierWaifu 31 to 27 or 28 is not that bad, but most people believe it to be 14 to 27 to 28
