I wish someone would bring Road Rash to virtual reality
Even just a Road Rash mode could be amazing hitting people with pipes and chairs on motorcycles will never grow old. 🤣
That would be the most fun you could have on two wheels. Chain swingin and nitro boosts keeping the sense of speed! 👍
Its definitely not that. But have you tried RUNNER? Its kind of like an Akira Anime influenced single player Road Rash.

yes. finally a good vr sim motorcycle game. With that said, I would like to try the UEVR bike racing games at some point. But, there's something to be said about not having to mod anything at all to play 🤙 There's another futuristic bike racing vr game that allows you to use motion to control, and yeah i got tired quick. Would be nice to have the option to thumb stick turn.
We need to have a handlebar attachment for this game
Thrustmaster has one for $300
Before I got to the section about the control method, in my head I already had an idea that the twist throttle and full body lean would be the ideal control method. I feel that armrests on your chair are going to be helpful.
Armrests could be a great idea to give your arms a break.
I kept trying to clean my phone screen watching the start of this, lol.

Great review thanks. I've played it all weekend it's absolutely brilliant no joke I've got gt7 on psvr in my opinion it's not that far off in terms of immersion
When you turn does your bike tilt beneath you keeping your view parallel which I do not like or does the track tilt? A big factor for immersion for me is I love it when road tilts and you are a few inches away from tarmac when taking the bend like the real bikers. A lot of racing games apart from GT7 strangely have the option lock to horizon or lock to car/cockpit. The excellent V-Racer Hoverbike on PC VR which this reminds me of had a 'Are You Insane' setting which I always used, WipEout Omega Collection also had the option. In a bike game it is even more important to have the option for realism I feel.
I will most certainly pick this up if it has the option. Thank you for the detailed review, It looks like the devs done a good job getting balance between performance and a clean looking racing game on the standalones.
Currently, the only option is what you see in the video. If you turn the bike and don't lean in real life, the bike will move under you. However, leaning in real life does lean you in game, which feels immersive.

Havent upgraded to a quest 3 yet from quest 2, but seeing a game like this as a psvr2 enthusiast, its adding to the tough pill to swallow if we dont get much past the announced psvr2 games coming this year…. A game like this will perhaps be my new “GT7” next year. Wtf. Unless i wanna invest in a big time gaming pc, and adopt all the issues, tweaking, and modding that comes with that. Looks fine for quest, but so hard to go back when ive seen how good big budget games can be in VR with proper hard wear. Of course like us all, ill take what i can get and props to the devs it seems on this one. :-/
I mean if you just want a PC strictly for VR and you already have a quest . It'll be a lot cheaper to go the PC route than getting a psvr2 and a PS5 and buy the games. My PC is been paid for over time and time again just cuz I don't pay for video games anymore. I got a crazy catalog of games and pretty much every VR game out right now, as well as regular pc games. I know some people are against pirates but it is what it is. I think 80 dollars for a repurposed game every year is criminal as well
@@JustMamba already have psvr2 and ps5, i mean my time with the library so far is still worth the price of admission, it just sucks that i will have to potentially invest elsewhere in the near future was all i was saying to have access to top tier vr games, if such a tier actually is able to exists. Top tier might just unfortunately become whatever the best quest hardware can put out. But happy meta is at least making enough impact it seems to keep the medium somewhat viable. As with every vr fan though we will just keep riding this wave.
If you have a need for speed, this nails it on Quest.

Does it give motion sickness?
How close is video in quality to the in headset view? The break up of the white lines on the track are very distracting and eye-straining. The steering mechanic is intriguing because motorcycle handling doesn't translate well to traditional joysticks or gamepads.
I didn't notice it in the headset. Your vision is definitely focused more forward.
Doesn't sound like they've gotten the sound right for the different engine configuration, which doesn't bode well for the "feel" of the engine character either. Not an easy ask I know, but engine character is one of my favourite things about riding.
Agreed. Like I mentioned in the video, though they did mention that they aren't happy with the bike sounds and are working on them. Time will tell I guess.

don't think so, but you can limit how many players down to two and open the game and have your friend hop on real quick

You can crash, and you can see it in the video. Unfortunately you just stop and your bike shoots away....then fade to black for a reset.

Considering this is possible on standalone, I don’t see why they can’t bring vtol Vr to the quest 3 natively. Maybe one day. A couch pilot can dream.
I wouldn't be surprised to see VTOL make the jump to the Quest 3.
I mean, to be fair, the optimization isn’t great for that game. I get it’s running a lot of AI at times, but I shouldn’t be getting 50 FPS while just sitting on a carrier with a 2060RTX and Ryzen 5 3600, given that games like H3VR can maintain above 100 FPS in even demanding locations like Institution. I can run Assetto Corsa with a full track of AI and high graphics settings with storm AND rain on, and not go under 100 FPS, so there’s something missing there

@@Dad3601 There is no grass, no trees or people, it is all cardboard and boring. There are heavier games on the Quest 3 that show that it is possible to offer a graphic quality according to the current generation.
I bought it and requested a refund in an hour.
Theres no clutch option. The twist function is super finicky. Every bike starts out going 0-60 in like 10 minutes, even when you're in a race by yourself.
Idk, I know it could never feel like the real thing. But man, It took me 20 minutes just to get the controls to work correctly. I think how well its being reported is vaguely suspicious.
Edit: Not you or other youtubers. More all of the 5 star ratings saying its the perfect VR racing game.

in other words it was too hard for you, it does have a steep learning curve but I am an old man pushing close to 70 and i am getting the hang of it after just about 6 hours of game play.

Do not play this if you ever think about riding a real motorcycle or a bicycle, the controls are inverted. Turning the handles bar in the wrong direction will kill you on the street. A 2 wheel only turn by counter steering. You will die on a real motorcycle if you get used to the inverted controls of this game, don't play this game it can literally kill you.
If they adjust the controls so that you are "leaning" the handlebars into corners rather than turning them, it could actually be pretty good. I've tried the MotoGP VR games and they have the control scheme nailed, even if it's arcadey as hell. It doesn't give you motion sickness because it's intuitive. I ride bikes IRL and I tried one particular "Moto VR" game that used to be on steam and immediately almost threw up because of the problem you described.
Don't play (insert random shooter). In this game you can get shot many times and still live. In real life if you get shot you could die. Don't play this game it can literally kill you.
@@CheapskateMotorsports can you imageine if racing sim you had to turn the steering in the opposite of a real car how dangerous that would be? Security above all. V-Racer Hoverbike (see my video playing that game in VR on a real motorcycle) had leaning your head from left to right and that was better. When you lean, like I do on the racetrack or the road, by body is leaning into the corner, but the handle bars are getting away from the turn. If a kid get good at that game and then go ride a bicyle, he may die if he try to avoid something, because the game will have reprogrammed him.
If a kid get hurt because of that game I kept all the communication witht the company that makes the game and my report to Meta.
@@MarquisDeSang man, don't be that guy. Just get GPBikes if you want ultra realism. No one is gonna die because of this game. As long as it functions in a way that is intuitive and doesn't cause motion sickness, it's fine.

I have VR and this looks like rubbish. I have been riding for a long time, including track racing, I don't think this looks like bike racing and I don't think there is a bike racing game that really feels like racing. I'm glad I don't have a Quest.

Bro out here thinking a standalone game is going to perfectly replicate real riding lmao yes I’ve had a 600cc too bud, you need to drop those expectations, this is literally the only option for bike riding in VR at the moment, and it does it well
gfx is so bad...
It looks fine…It’s better than Grid Legends.
for stand alone the graphics are good, in a week will be better once optimized for Quest 3
