It's facinating to me how different our ways can be, even thou we are much alike. In Sweden most of us eat yoghurt and granola, oatmeal, sandwiches and such for breakfast on weekdays. On weekends we might eat more "cooked" food but mostly more of the same but with boiled eggs, more veggies on the sandwiches (Bread, butter cheeze and or ham is common), orange juice. What you just made we would bring to our jobs for lunch.
I remember backpacking by train in France when I was in my twenties and discovered that breakfast at the hotels we stayed at consisted of a croissant and a small package of marmalade. I was always hungry again after 15 minutes! 😂

Such good ideas. Another fun idea, especially when we had a house full of teens who were crashing til morning, we made make ahead omelettes. All the usual ingredients mixed in ziplocks, names written on the bags, refrigerated til morning, then cooked in bags in boiling water. Always perfect!! Add juices, fruit and buttered toast and no mess !
Hope you are avoiding all the nasty storms up your way!! ❤MommaG

I occasionally make homemade biscuits with egg, cheese, and bacon, but for me, I prefer things like baked oatmeal or carrot cake muffins/loaf, banana bread, pumpkin bread, or cereals. My daughter loves pancakes for breakfast or poptarts or toast. I always feel nauseous if I have meat that early in the morning.

Not sure why I never thought of them. Yours is a very complete and hearty breakfast. I want to try adding the refried beans for me. I think make a head breakfast stuff can be a great way to use up leftovers (meats, cheeses or veggies). The precut foil sheets make life a little easier. Bagels and sour dough are on my list of things to try this winter. Your video encourages me even more to try. Do you ever add things like berries or cheese to your bagels? If so, at one point do you add it?

I've never made bagels, but it's on my list to try. I even bought barley syrup, because the recipes I saw called for it. Do you know what the flavor difference would be to use the barley syrup vs this sourdough recipe? I have an active starter that I could use.

Does your family typically pull things from the freezer to the refrigerator overnight to warm up in the mornings or do the breakfasts heat up well from frozen? Microwave? Wrap with a damp paper towel? Oh, and have you tried the Stacy’s flour tortillas that Azure carries? Yummy!

So my boys just pull them frozen and open them and microwave them. I do take them out them in the fridge. And I’ll just put it in or on the wood stove with the foil. Any way you want todo it we have tried. They all work.

Have you ever made the round ball bagels and then fill with cream cheese flavors like bantam bagels?

I wonder if you used a sheet of parchment instead of the foil as you could put it straight into microwave and oven and avoid foil linked to Alzheimer’s.

I’ve been wanting to try bagels but have been intimidated. Will give them a try. What recipe do you use for your English muffins?

@@modernhomesteadalaska got to love different terms in different countries. I was so confused the first time I heard people referring to different types of pumpkins as summer & winter squash. I was like they are all nuts, it's a freaking pumpkin. In Australia we just call them all pumpkin, zucchini & squash are the little yellow button ones that's it. Same with cilantro, we call the plant and seeds coriander and don't differentiate. Love learning even if I have to regularly pause videos to google lol
