one of my favourite bands, it's just such a shame that the whole original lineup is dead

@@limzog9 I wouldn't say so, I mean.. Johnny and Joey rarely spoke, even when Joey was dying, Johnny Never visited or even called the guy!. They didn't like one another for a multitude of reasons and Johnny wasn't about to compromise the truth of his feelings and is on record as stating he'd rather others do the same to him and not be coming around just because he were ill, if they weren't close in life!.. John and Joes relationship was the most notorious, but none of them really got along or faked that they were super close and I respect that as most bands (except in the beginning) aren't close and it just becomes a business/work relationship more than anything as time goes on!..

Johnny was my biggest inspiration to play guitar, and Dee Dee is the reason why I like the Fender P Bass so much.

Few bands change music with their debut album. The Beatles did. Van Halen did. The Ramones CERTAINLY did.
@@Johnny-lr5jt That first album was huge for me. It's a prism that helped me appreciate everything from Buddy Holly to some extreme metal... and a whole lot of punk, hardcore, and alternative rock!

the most random thing i remember from them is when i was 9 i went to some dodge place with my mom while she got the oil chnaged and joey walks in i didnt know it was him until after my mom asked if ik who that was, didn't realize it was him even tho i listened to them when i was a kid

I love these guys, I’d say they probably changed my life in some way. They are my favorite and will never stop listening

I knew this guy who claimed he went into a basement and saw a half-boy/half-pig. He said he was on a lot of acid at the time, but since it's not the sort of thing you normally see on acid I figure it probably wasn't just the acid. He said he ran home and cried. He said he shouldn't have went down in that basement.

The brilliance of the Ramones is shocking even all these years later. I should’ve gone to see them more often then I did.
It's timeless!
My friend introduced me to the Ramones in 1986 and they pretty much changed my life. I realized then that there was so much great music out there that wasn't popular. I was fortunate to have seen them live more times than I can even count and even went to record signing they did for when they were touring for Brain Drain. I was so thrilled because Joey made a comment about the shirt I was wearing. It saddens me that they are gone now and that they never really saw how successful that they became. They are true legends and one of the most under rated rock bands of all time

That's gotta be both one of the proudest but scariest moments a band can have, having literally hundreds of your fans swarming your car. I can't do that. My anxiety would be so bad that I'd have a full blown panic attack. And I'm someone that normally tries to think the best of others until they give me a reason not to

That is interesting. I think it's because of three reasons, the main one being they worked their asses off and they toured so much that they didn't have much of a life beyond that. The other two reasons being the drugs, and they all died relatively young.
Tommy had enough class or grace to say how much Joey would have enjoyed it. Too bad he did not live to see it.

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s I never listened to the Romones but started listening to their songs in the 90’s they were awesome plus there such oddball characters was part of it too.

You missed the part in Rock N Roll High School where the girl puts the pizza in the envelope. She then says: "I'll remember this moment forever." And then I think Johnny looks at like she's a weirdo, and it's priceless.
So grateful I got to see them in 1994. Sad that we will never see them again even if they had wanted to reunite.

So glad I got to see them in concert. Escape from New York tour. Had debbie Harry and Tom Tom Club on the bill. The only time I left my seat and joined the mob at the front and jumped around. What a blast!

PJ Soles was in two of the greatest films of the 70's, "Halloween" and "Rock N Roll High School", and in such a short period being one year after the other. The same cinematographer too, Dean Cundey. Final shout out to Dick Miller, who had a small role in the film. RIP Dick, you were one of the greats.
