- The Ramones get interviewed on the short lived TV show "Mouth to Mouth" in 1988.
The host of the show Steve Skrovan, went on to be a Writer/Producer for the show "Everybody Loves Raymond", and in 2006 directed the "An Unreasonable Man" a documentary on Ralph Nader. - เพลง
"Michael Jackson’s a little strange. I wouldn’t want my kids going out with him."
Joey was ahead of his time.
I was gonna say the same.
Ramones public service announcements
Joey didn't know it at the time, but in a few short years, MJ would start trying to look like him
Joey had a lot of fans...maybe some of them knew something the public didn't....
Joey in 1993 "i knew it"
I want my Ramones back. :(
I know what the fuck :(
Damn drugs
@@lorettasearcy1471 huh? R u referring to dee dee??? That was a huge huge shock for me. Unfortunately.
@@kooskoos8181 yeah it was for a lot of people
Me too!!! I love the Ramones❤❤❤
I think this is one of the most lighthearted interviews of the ramones, they are all very friendly and funny to each other, good times!
I've never seen a Ramones interview where Dee Dee doesn't steal the show. Such a funny guy, doesn't even try.
Dee Dee's just got such a good spirit about him. Such a genuine warm presence
And Joey
@@sabbracadabra8367 and Johnn....aahh who am I kidding
@@emilpettersson4509 I like him too but yeah, lol :)
Johnny, not so much.
The Ramones actualy changed the world... truth!
Really??? In what way cuz no others have ..😂😂😂
They inspired and promoted authenticity in countless people.
"They met us"
Great interview
1:55 Johnny and Joey kind of talking with each other! Historical! ;)
they did talk sometimes
1:27 "They....met us." Best response ever by Joey, answering that dim-witted host's comment about how The Ramones "met" The Pistols. Anyone who thinks Joey wasn't sharp just needs to see this.
@Dion St. Michael Joey always answered kinda acid when the subject was the Pistols. See Conan interview and many others.
@Dion St. Michael I'm agreeing with ya guys and mentioning other videos where Joey was sharp when he wanted to. Chill dude, have a cigarette.
The ramones ARE, and always WILL be the best band EVER. These guys were way ahead of their time. They left other so-called big punk bands for dead. I miss them so bad. RIP RAMONES 🙏
Empirical facts, I agree
Stephen King used Dee Dee Ramones name as an alias to sign into hotels and the Ramones took the name from Paul Mcartneys alias Paul Ramone which he used to sign into hotels under. Mad😂
I love that book
1988 Joey Ramone: "Michael Jackson's a little strange isn't he? I wouldn't want my kids around him!" Shit, really prescient observation!
Holy crap that's funny. I just thought Joey looked like Michael Jackson with his gloves.
And this was just a few years before MJ started to look like Joey
this is the most charismatic ive ever heard them. its great!
If The Ramones were a movie they'd have won endless awards for best casting. :)
It's called rock n roll high school watch it
I'm waiting for the star-studded big screen treatment a la Straight Outta Compton or Bohemian Rhapsody!
@@haileyshannon7548 with the right director and cast, that would be an amazing movie!
@@btipton6899 I would like to see a ACDC or a OZZY OSBOURNE Movie
Interviewer: You (The Ramones) met the Sex Pistols
Joey: They met us.
Dee Dee and Joey are hilarious
Saw them back in '77 here in Texas, they played at Liberty Hall which was a venue from '71-'78. I remember my dad took my buddies and I to go see them, and it was one of the greatest bands I ever saw live. Long live the Ramones!!
Coolest band in the universe.
Dee Dee was a beautiful child, so innocent and angelic
And also a drug-addled prostitute, but I love the guy.
Now I wanna be a good boy
God I miss these guys. AWESOME interview. Joey was so freaking funny. Thanks for posting!
They met us!!! hahahaha Joey is amazing
coolest band ever.
Ramones are the best!
It makes me sad we'll never get to experience interviews with them in their later years. R.I.P.
1:00 "They're phasing out albums for CD's...it's disgusting"
They would have had strokes if they knew about Spotify, Google Play and iTunes
1988-1995 when CD was #1 LP versions of rock albums Are now expensive
Johnny Ramone sounds like Rainman 😂😂😂
"They met us" hahaha :) I love Joey!!!!!!!!
The Ramones is a beautiful thing. It wasn't all pearly white smiles, but it didn't have to be, it just makes me happy. Thank you, boys.
Wherever Joey is... he's still baffled.
God, i miss these guys❤
in the late 70's in my pre teen years i discovered THE RAMONES, SEX PISTOLS and DEVO at all roughly the same time. it changed my life. id' say IGGY was probably the godfather of punk but THE RAMONES truly overall had the biggest influence on the genre. they never made a bad album. i also got to see them live in 1990 it was incredible. very grateful i got to see them before the 3 members died.
i also think they had a huge influence on alot of non hair metal bands in the 80's (METALLICA, ANTHRAX, SLAYER, EXODUS, etc.). especially with JOHNNY's furious down picking style. very innovative for its time.
Dee Dee and his pathologycally lying punchlines is one of the most brilliant part of the Ramones in the interviews
MIADO ROUCO RECORDS he’s fucking hysterical
@@opaljk4835 hysteria refers to a hypothetical neurotic and psychopathological condition. Considering that he having a pathological liar is a mere assumption of mine, given my own observations and knowledge in the Ramones' biography (and as far as I know he never publicly shown this diagnosis) so yes, technically your placement is more accurate.
MIADO ROUCO RECORDS I was just saying he was funny! Lol, sorry. I just think he’s a really really funny dude. He obviously had a lot of problems and darkness he was battling
@@opaljk4835 He was indeed! And my comment had no irony, I really meant it! Calling him hysterical is more accurate, psychologically talking.
My Dad says to me "Brendan, can you not give a straight answer?"
Dee Dee loved being silly for his own entertainment (just turns out, it entertained us too).
"I'm baffled."
-Joey Ramone
when Dee Dee left, the jokes did too, i miss ol Dougie.
I agree, without Dee Dee the beginning of the end was near
Dee Dee was the soul of the Ramones in my opinion (rip)
Joey the star of the show! Always…RIP JOEY JOHNNY AND DEEDEE!
These guys are a trip lmao. Love watching their interviews 🤣
Any time i need a good pick-me-up I watch one their old interviews. Idk how these guys were so damn funny on top of being musical legends
haha dee dee: we hit a weasel, and it was still kickin yah know, so we put it in the van and wrote a song about it...haha classics
omg this interview was aweeome 😂 LOVE JOEY ♥️♥️
Thanks for adding this! It had me cracking up!
Dee Dee cracked me up...lol
Not many bands have "best of" compilations that are as legendary as Ramones Mania, but it truly has stood the test of time and is iconic. Great to see them promote it here.
Like Type O Negative's "The Least Worst Of", it is legitimately essential and of interest because it too has some cool extra stuff and mixes (and cool artwork!).
God bless two of New York's greatest bands... Type O Negative and Ramones.
I also love how our Ramones were never afraid to take credit. They'll never know how loved they were (are) but they knew they were important to ("rock") music they were.
Joey owned this! 🤙🏼 😂
6:52 LMAO Joey had the funniest comebacks fucking so childish yet hilarious
In 1988 I wanted it to the future like now. But now I want it to be 1988. Life was good then.
The best interview!
RAMONES 4ever!
The Ramones Van should be in the Rock Hall of Fame
Such a chaotic interview, love it!
i really miss those four cool m.c. leather jacket guys very much, RiP bro's! God bless the original drummer who is still kick'n & the other two drummers including the young bro'r who is still do'n his thing on the bass guitar! their music, films & what ever we can captivate on yOuTuBe WILL NEVER DIE!
Thanks for the vid...
wow they all having fun and laughing together
Joey's the shit. rip.
Great interview. Thanks for sharing; Jesus Christ Bless
Fun interview! Love the "weaselface" story (kickass song!)
1988 CBGB film? THink that project must have fallen through.
Yeah, Hilly Kristal sold the rights to the movie around that time, and all of the original bands were supposed to play themselves in the movie, then the studio went out of business. (I think it was with Hemdale.) So the project sat in development hell for 25 years until 2013. By then all of the original acts were either too old or too dead to play themselves.
And then they foisted some slop upon the world that probably left most ppl with a lesser image of the whole scene. Movies on music and scenes certainly aren't easy to pull off, but CBGB the movie may actually go down as visceral damage to the human race.
for a few seconds...legendary moment...
Thanks for uploading this! It's awesome! :D
ps: If u search "Ramones interview Tomorrow show" you will find an interview that I uploaded. ;)
“They met us”
WELL. FUCKING. SAID.
Hahaha!!! Dee Dee is the best Beatle...oh I mean Ramone!
They are the OG'S
bravo!!!!!
Back then because of alcoholism issues it seemed like Marky was the first one to go. He ultimately outlived Dee Dee, Joey and Johnny. R.I.P you guys, miss you every single day.
See Marky Ramone Concert tomorrow in Nürnberg 🎉
R.I.P. the entire Ramones
Joey & Dee Dee❤
Both bands were important originators in music. The Ramones were the first punk band and the Sex Pistols were the first manufactured boy band.
Pistols were the second manufactured boy band but I get what you mean
Sex Pistols=The Monkees of Punk Rock
Yeah but the manufactured boy band released an album that has made its mark in the history of music . As much as I am a Ramones fan I can't recall any albums from them that are truly punk musically..👍
@Broekspijpje The Clash is not punk.
What about the Bay city Rollers?
9:04 Johnny Smile
This is like the only interview where Joey talks!! No but he really doesn't talk much, it's adorable !
+Cara Cavota You must have watched a lot of early Ramones interviews! In the 70's, Johnny and Tommy tried to do all of the talking. They didn't like Joey and Dee Dee representing the band b/c they thought they fit into some negative stereotypes about the band. This was easy enough to enforce b/c Joey had shyness issues. But this is '88. Joey was a fairly big star, and had become a fairly confidant interview subject. He was way more chatty than Johnny or Marky in the second half of the band's career. It's not like he took orders from Johnny anymore, as the two really disliked each other by this point.
Cheetah Chrome Are you THE Cheetah Chrome, the guy who slapped Johnny Thunders on stage?
jdessell just a fan lol
Boy, the Rain Man gag sure went over well.
Johnny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
saw them when they had C.J. Nothing like a Ramones show.
New Zealand was weird lol.. Yes we are.
Joey about Sex Pistols: "They're not us." lol love you, Joey!
Aline Ramone I’m a diehard Ramones fan but the pistols were better. They were more punk and their only album was flawless. The Ramones were more influential because of their music and look but the pistols music was dope and they completely embodied the punk persona. Dee Dee was the only true punk.
Joey said "They met us", which is refererring to UK Tour, when Johnny rotten and Joe strummer from the clash trying to sneak to ramones room
Jonny replied after joe they met us" so punk rock! Yeah!

I really dig the Ramones , when I was a kid I thought Ramones were the Beatles but like 100mph faster🤪
Definitely more like the Beach Boys 100mph faster

Will someone explain the link with Rain Man, I don't get it?
The Ramones on the Morton Downey, jr. show would have been epic television.
Japanese Deedee🤣
Such a funny band! Wonder why Marky is so quiet...
Could be because Marky had just recently re-joined the band after about five years out, he's probably playing it as cool and safe as possible being 'new' again. In later years he became a more open band spokesman.
Cocaine
Marky actually good at talking, he’s smart too
because he's a total sell-out.. never should have joined the band again..
now I know the inspiration for weasel face!
What honestly did the Rain Man clip have to do with the Ramones ?that was kind of dumb
I can’t stop watching Dee Dee’s hands. .
lol!
Discao da hr
1:48 th squirrels, milton
They look like the music machine circa 1966
Only need the cool black glove
“ANTHRAX”!!!!
Joey was on the Morton Downey Show... with someone from Kiss
It was Ace Freley.
fucking Ramones forever and ever!
i didn't understood the rainman bit...
That movie was new at the time. It was probably just the next topic on that show. Johnny kinda sounds like rainman, though.
6:27
Dee Dee rules.
Oh I know! It is funnier for me cuz I'm from Louisiana!
What's with the "Rain Man" clip? Was the host trying to insinuate that the Ramones were musical idiot savants? What a jerk.
Johnny kinda sounds like Rain Man.
what? no barbers in Forest Hills?
Joey did end up going on Morton Downey.
Ace Frehkey was also on that episode.
