1:32 a birth certificate will not work for flying (it may still work for cruising). You will need the Real ID ~or~ a passport book (passport card I am not sure about domestic air - I do know the passport card is good for land travel to Canada and Mexico). 3:40 GLOBAL travel 'includes' TSA Pre Check in the US as a part of the package. In My Opinion - For the money - Global is a better deal than just TSA Pre Check.

TSA - Just got back from Atlanta and it was not to bad at Atlanta the only thing that was holding up the lines was actually the people who do not pay attention. Coming out of Ft. Lauderdale was super easy. No line and did not even wait. I actually do not fly a lot so I do not have the pre check thing or Global. But... I can imagine the wait on busy days.
Floridians and Real ID - It is the star on the front right of your driver's license. If you do not have it get it and do it now. The wait for appointments at the DMV are long.

Some areas are definitely not as busy as others...Orlando and Miami are usually pretty bad

I was just looking and Southwest does fly from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale so we might do that in November 2025 and arrive around midnight on the Thursday night and extend our hotel booking at the group Hotel for both the Thursday and Friday nights.

That would be great, they do tend to change flight itineraries all the time so be aware of that!! We are there on Thursday and Friday

We are going to try and fly from Seattle WA to Houston TX using Southwest for our trip in January but the sails so far are only good till Christmas so we will keep looking for a sail that is good in January and I am hoping that on the Canada Day / Independence Day weekend that a sale will be good for us so we can book those flights.

One good thing about Southwest is that if the price goes down you can change and get a flight credit for a future flight...

My Canadian passport expires in June of 2025 but we have a cruise booked in January 2025 so I have to have it renewed and delivered before Christmas this year so that it will be good for over 6 months when we travel in June 2025.

Do you think that for 4 people we should use the Carnival Shuttle or risk waiting for a Uber or Lyft from Galveston TX to get back to Hobby Int. Airport for a flight right around noon.

I would Uber there, but do Carnival on the way back....

@@mickthecarnivalcruiselinet1901 We will take your advise and book the Carnival shuttle as soon as we book our flights. We are coming in a day early and staying overnight in Texas City so that we can visit Bucee's on the Friday afternoon before the cruise.
