Carnival Splendor really is a beautiful ship. My first time cruising and I enjoyed every minute. The sail away from Sydney is amazing and so beautiful

6:54 ABSOLUTELY CORRECT - we ordered an Uber and they did not let them in a certain way. Getting on the ship was VERY easy - getting out of the port area - not as much. We had an aft facing cabin and had a great view of both the bridge and the opera house.

Kimpton Sydney (IHG) is a really nice hotel... it's walking distance to the Opera House and The Rocks. I would not walk to the port though.
