You're rockin almost my exact daily setup. This lens on a Fuji X-T30, I even have the same evf eye cup for shooting outdoors during the day. Worth noting to anyone adapting this era of Canon lenses- Minding that closed/open aperture lock is vital. I thought my aperture was stuck until I understood it. And careful when changing the lens, so as not to damage it, the adapter, or your camera. Also be careful of weight distribution when using heavier old lenses on a smaller modern body. My X-T30 is showing some worrying flex in the lens mount and body from using heavy lenses for a few years. Fuji's build quality is great, but modern cameras just aren't as solid as the mostly metal mounts and bodies of old film cameras.

Nice video, Matt! Been missing you over on the other channel, but I'm here for it as a fan, regardless ✊. I enjoy your technical discussions of all this stuff.
I'd love to DM you some time if you're down for that. Where might be a good place to do that?

i don't get why in all of the reviews about this lens people say it's completely plastic when it is not completely plastic, in the outside only the aperture ring is plastic and in the inside is mostly metal...sometimes i think youtubers make reviews based on other people's reviews rather than observation, certainly this lens is not as robust as the older version, the S.S.C and it's obviously smaller and lighter but please if you going to say something is plastic at least try to verify it.

Great review. Never thought of using a step up ring as a mini hood! What size step up ring are you using?

i have a 1.8 i would look into opening it up and cleaning up your lense elements its not that hard. also theres very lttle olastic snd only on thw surface layer

The person who sent it to me took it apart and found that it was deep within the lens, so not an easy fix and out of my wheelhouse. Also I wouldn’t say very little plastic when the entire body of it is plastic, at least the part you handle. It doesn’t really concern me what the internals are made of since I don’t handle them directly.

@@MattJacobs okay but its at least not a cheap plastic and the focus front is metal so good enough, its a good built lense, and definitely not a cheap plastic and well cost effective for how low they sell now a-days
