Vault 3 was a control vault and had no experiment. It opened on time and the dwellers went out to repopulate... only to be killed by the Fiends. You mention that there has been no technological progress, but there has indeed been a lot of progress. The difference is that while we focused on creating transistors and semi-conductors to make things smaller in the real world, they continued to improve upon vacuum-tube technology. When referring to oil, you showed a car. This is one of the major oversights in the Fallout Universe considering cars don't run off of oil. They run on atomic reactors. The gas stations you see aren't actually gas stations. They're filling stations for coolant. It was the scarcity of oil that drove such a large change. No longer were tanks a viable option due to the requirement for oil and gas. Thus power armor was born. Fuel efficient (hardly!), mobile, powerful, and compact.
+Red Judas Actually, the nuclear reactors that the cars run on only came about in the late 21st century, in response to the need for an alternative source of energy for cars. They were made quickly and are in most cars still, but they were developed too late to have any notable effect on the energy crisis. It's why coolant prices were so prohibitively expensive.
0:09 actually, it's explained in the games that the reason some technologies hadn't advanced over others is because people had become so obsessed with improving nuclear power and robotics that almost every other technological research nearly completely stopped
+Raikato If you look at a world map, america's are on the left, china/asia on the right. If they were to show the proper way china would invade alaska, then they would have to put a line off the right side of the screen, and then apear on the left side. This would be confusing, and not visually pleasant, so they didn't do this. However, they could have used a map with china on the left, america on the right, and the pacific in the center, but they prefered the world map, once again, for visual reasons. Why cant anyone figure this out lol???
+Mr. Vulcanator Not in the actual games story line but I would imagine that since the Enclave is the remnants of the US gov and the Advanced Power Armor wasn't developed until sometime right around the events of Fallout 1,they would have likely used the T-45 being that it was standard issue before the bombs fell for the army. The only reason the Brotherhood even still uses T-45 is because it was so much more plentiful compared to the T-51 and they're basically the Army anyway so they had access to and knew where the stocks were kept. But yeah,it was probably for animations sake anyway :p
+Arch Dornan (The Enclave Quartermaster) You are pretty much correct, this is some of the background on the Enclaves development of power armor :-) 2198: The Enclave begins the first work since the Great War on the development of various new technologies, including power armor variations. None of these are much of an improvement over the original pre-Great War models of power armor, and some actually prove to be worse when used in actual combat. 2215: Under Presidential order, the Enclave's scientists and engineers begin to work on an upgraded version of power armor that exceeds the performance of the T-51b model. Many prototypes are developed and tested. 2220: Enclave scientists finally develop a reliable version of what they call "advanced power armor".The prototype's capabilities (and the various accidents, explosions, and deaths involved in its creation) are classified by order of the Enclave's President Dick Richardson for the sake of morale. 2242: After the destruction of the Oil Rig, the Enclave finished developing a Tesla Power Armor based on the standard advanced power armor, which provides less protection than advanced power armor, Mk II, but allows the wearer to wield energy weapons more effectively. +LT Gen Klink I like this one news report. Some teenager was being investigated for something and when their profile picture was shown, the news anchor described it as "What appears to be the Grinch wearing a ski mask" referring to the Criminal Pepe they had as their picture. So yeah, pretty much.
+LT Gen Klink Also appears to be a Bethesda shill as he left out New Vegas, the best game in the Fallout series and only console version who's story line might drastically affect the Fallout world and not just the specific city it takes place in.

+MythicByrd Because the Brotherhood of Steel just goes around stealing people's tech because THE TRUTH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH. They hoard all tech and believes no one outside the Brotherhood can fathom handling power armor and gatling lasers.
As far as I remember, the only vault that opened up 200 years later was 101, and it was one of the last to open, the mutants were caused BY the FEV virus, not killed by it, and James was a vault dweller in vault 101 not just some scientist that came to vault 101. How did they mess this up?
I don't mean to be rude, but this is a grossly generalized version of Fallout lore. I know that you only have three minutes, but there are a lot of small mistakes that bother me. Also, one of the biggest parts of Fallout's pre-war society was the 'miraculous' discoveries and advances in nuclear engineering, a field of study that was much more closely focused upon due to the havoc caused by the bombings on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The research that followed those bombings is where the timeline split between our world and Fallout's. People spent their time researching robotics and nuclear power, rather than computers and smartphones, and people were so satisfied with their life that, for a while at least, no great scientific discoveries were made. The government, which was still struggling for resources at this point (Even if it was nothing compared to the real struggles of the resource wars), was much less willing to give grants to others, keeping their dwindling supplies to themselves; hence the Enclave. I could go on, but you get the point.
The Vault Dweller in Fallout 1 left Vault 13 in 2161, 84 years after the bombs fell in the Great War, which was October 23rd, 2077. The 200 year thing only works for Fallout 3 and Vault 101
As soon as he said "nobody leaves the life-sustaining vaults for 200 years" I came to the comments section to look for people calling him out on it. I hate how so many people are so Fallout 3 & 4 focused, completely ignore 1 & 2, and often gloss over New Vegas (IMO the best one).
NCRranger24 - Gaming and More! Absolutely. All the games are excellent, with the exception of Brotherhood of Steel and the possible exception of Tactics (depending on if it's your thing or not). I understand that Fallout 1 & 2 came out before Fallout became mainstream, and for that reason most people haven't played them. To be fair, my first Fallout game was Fallout 3, but I did go back and play through Fallout 1 and 2 after New Vegas came out. So I'm not an OG fan by any means either. But people should at least give the old games a shoutout, even if they haven't played them. Many people act like Fallout 3 was the first game.
Nani Banani immersion is a way to neglect responsibility and reality when in reality, most people that complain about it lock themselves up in their dorm rooms and waste the the thousands of dollars that their parents payed for their college tuition by playing games that are "immersive"
when did they say that? I read online it was. not to mention that there is no reason to make it uncannon, i mean as far as i know it doesnt conflict THAT bad
Err, Bethesda wouldn't know what Fallout canon was even if it bit them in the ass. Bethesda's Fallout on the other hand DOES conflict with canon extremely. Though Fallout Tactics has its canonical hiccups but nowhere near those of Bethesda's Fallout.
SHADOWWOLF77 any examples? i know the obvious change is the total change of the brotherhoods nature from 1&2 to 3, but what else? It felt like just a continuation on the other side of the continent.
Cadetri Gaming One thing is the existance of supermutants on the east coast which is impossible since they were created by the Master at Mariposa. Though Fallout Tactics have at least two plot holes one being the name of the AK-112 assault rifle which was renamed into "AK-47" And the intelligent Deathclaws that was created by the West coast Enclave. Bethesda messed up the comedy thing about Fallout plus making a great RPG into another shooter. True the BOS (Even though less possible) and especially Enclave could exist on the East coast no problem. The Midwestern BOS was (Had there been a sequel to Fallout Tactics) meant to degrade into fascist wannabees and in a second game the player would have been fighting the Midwestern BOS.
Fallout New Vegas alone, technically isn't canon. The DLC says what the Courier does *after* the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, but it's never actually hinted at who won in the actual battle or what the Courier did in the Mojave in Fallout 4 or by Bethesda.
Gr8Vidz it makes 100% sense, Bethesda wanted to end fallout 3 on a bittersweet note to pay tribute to the original games but after they released they found out most people just wanted to keep playing
Here after watching the Fallout TV series which appears to be exactly based on the 3 mins story of Fallout 1,2,3 in this video but in the series they slightly changed the roles of the characters. I loved it, kinda gave me an opportunity to check out the wonderful story line I missed on the game. It'll be great to see a Fallout TV series vs game comparision to get a better view of both, eitherway, I'd like to thank the creator of this video after 8 years since its made.
Well, it really is, because in "Fallout 4" Liberty Prime is in pieces and needs to be put together again. If I am correct, it gets broken in the end of "Broken Steel" DLC, leading to said rebuilding in "4". So yeah, canon. From what I know, all DLCs are canon. Only "Fallout: BOS" and "Tactics" (I think) games are not canon.
I find it super funny how when it gets to the story of fallout 3, it's mostly about James... just James. Because the lone wanderer was the most pointless uninteresting piece of shit ever, Bethesda wrote the game's story for your dad... You're just there, along for the ride. Bethesda just can't do story things and it pains me.
They can't?! This new one is amazing.. * spoilers for Fallout 4 ahead * You get frozed in a vault. Then you clearly see that after they take your son you get frozen again. But maybe, it was liike, 5 minutes? it couldn't be years.. no way... . Then you leave to find your baby son, who was kidnapped and is all you want and love...I mean, after all the side quests and settlements that need your help first, of course, your son can wait. Ah, and somehow you're a war machine even if you're just a lawyer. Isn't that a beautiful story? :3
Elliott Bohringer I'm gonna argue that New Vegas is validated cannon. It was published by Bethesda you know. And I say that it's basically "Fallout 3.5" Everything that was cool about Fallout 3, has been improved by New Vegas. More weapons to play with, More diverse locations to visit, Multiple endings to achieve, And Hard core mode made the game realistic! Also, The Fallout series was made by multiple game developers over time. Is Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 invalid because they were developed by Black Isle Studios?
Joseph Calabrese its canon? cool. Strange that they wouldnt include it but if it was made canon later i guess its ok not to include it in a vague summary
Technically, the FEV poison was John Henry Eden's idea. At least, in Fallout 3. Colonel Autumn wasn't going to do that, because that's too much genocide. He just wanted to do what you wanted to do. This is why people are supposed to communicate.
Fallout takes place 80 years after the bombs fell. Fallout 2 is 80 years after Fallout. Fallout _3_ takes place in 2277...Fallout New Vegas takes Place in 2281, and Fallout 4 in 2287. Please get your timeline right?
+Austin Murre Were you not paying attention or something? He wasn't talking about winning or losing wars; he was talking about situations in which a foreign entity _invaded_ the United States. There was no invasion of the US homeland in the Vietnam War, hence no need to be mentioned in the list.
+Austin Murre In the Fallout universe the US declared war on Vietnam though, but it's unknown what the outcome was but I would say things were probably a lot different in the outcome..
+Albert Johfur seeing how america was not even fighting during the nva victory i fail to see how that was a US defeat. If anything it was a stalemate after Nixon got the NV government to the negotiating table in 73. Its like saying the soviets were defeated in Afghanistan despite the fact all the victories from the northern alliance and latter the taliban happened after the soviet withdrawal.
"In the 1950s, all cultural progress stops in the US for no reason." Umm, no. It stopped because in the Fallout timeline, the transistor never came to prominence, thus severely limiting technological advancements. Do your research next time instead of trying to be funny.
with all the time you took trying to make dumb jokes, you could've fit Nee Vegas in there because i'm sure there is a large number of people (i included) who loved New Vegas more than Fallout 3
I don't think you should have done all the story before #3... Being as you clearly don't know it. The Fallout 3 stuff was fine but all the stuff from Fallout 1 and 2 and everything before that was pretty much wholistically incorrect.
im beginning to judge the correctness of your 3 minute stories. Their technology didn't stop at 1950 or whatever. It expanded based off of nuclear technology. They focuses all their research power on improving nuclear powered items, Cars, radios, TVs, washing machines, etc. Everything was powered by nuclear technology.
It would be a lot easier for China to go all the way to Pacific Ocean, and US to do the same, okay not really important. Also you might want to update the video
1. That 'Vault Dweller' In question is actually Albert Cole and he's not a blonde boy. he has much darker hair. 2. He left the Village behind after he finished his memoirs. and never returned. not die in that village. 3. the 'FEV' mentioned in 2:01 was actually a modified strain of the original ones that created Super Mutants in the first place. 4. The Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3 was later kidnapped by Aliens and later reversed the situations. finally hijacked that alien ship. fates unknown. 5. And Takes on New Vegas. who ultimately wins? or did New Vegas emerge into a new nation (Yes Man ending)?
Did the lone wanderer died? Yes yes he did originally but then Broken steel came about and then once you had that installed he survives and kicks the enclaves ass at their secondary base Adams AFB
the wanderer doesn't die if you have paid extra money
so true XD
everyone was pissed so they decided to make money off (fan service = broken steel) err.. a different ending. (lol)

Was New Vegas here?
***** My favorite fall out
air supply
The Courier has more connections to the first two games than the Lone Wanderer, though.
no one cant forget the mailman......

John Doe I probably will, eventually, but I have pressing nerd-related matters to attend to.
I think this is the longest comment I've seen on TH-cam. Congratulations!
+fnvfan0145 You don't read many TH-cam comments then....do you?
Sethohoss777
i guess not
Anyone remember the, "let's count to 38000 in Roman numerals!" Anyone?
This is just a piss take of Fallout.
Then again it is compressed down to about 3 minutes though
It's three minutes long, of course they're not gonna cover every tiny details of the story
0:23
Me when I take a test and didn't do the math correctly!
Very inaccurate and plus you missed about 2 or 3 Fallouts.
Also Broken Steel is canon.
Please shut the f*ck up
+Shadow S Butthurt squeeker spotted
he missed one fallout new vegas because fallout 4 literally came out the next day
Armor Matty I wasn't even talking about Fallout 4. He missed New Vegas, Tactics and BoS.
And yeah, Tactic and BoS are canon.
InteristaSbarazzinoXxX98 How could we know you never say what games he missed out
You forgot the part in Fallout 2 where you go back in time and break the water chip in Fallout 1, starting the events of Fallout 1.
that random encounter is not canon though
This is very inaccurate
very, very inaccurate. chances are this kid wasn't around when fallout first came out.
Do it yourself then if you can do it so much better
adam, he is clearly not a kid
Mats, how about you search "fallout wiki timeline"?
Lone wanderer does not die he goes into coma for 2 weeks
Such an amazing, plot hole free, contrived and yet realistic story line! (sarcasm warning)
The Vault Dweller in Fallout 1 left Vault 13 in 2161, 84 years after the bombs fell in the Great War, which was October 23rd, 2077. The 200 year thing only works for Fallout 3 and Vault 101
Your description of Fallout 1's story is cringeworthy. Also most vaults opened after about 20 years.
Yeah I was REALLY anoyed by that.
+CitrusFury most of my time has spent in 3 and New Vegas, but I played a bit of 2 and it's fantastic
I was looking for that story too....
I feel like the beginning is wrong
I feel embarrassed for them
Nicholas Granado it's a joke lol
Its not
Why are the Enclave soldiers shown wearing old fashioned T51b armor and not Power Armor MK 2?
WRONG well THE ENCLAVE DOES WEAR T51B BUT that armor is the T45 the first ever
Maybe it was before they created the X0-1 armour. This whole video is very inaccurate so I wouldn't think about it too much.
That's T-45, which makes it arguably even worse.
+Technogeist I can't believe you said that... FRANCHISE NEWBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually enclave when it was founded they wore t51 btw in this video there wearing t45 noob
You're misinforming a lot of people who actually want to be immersed. That's not immersive
Nani Banani it's not supposed to go look at the wiki or another vid if you want to be "immersed" girl
Now that explanation is immersive , thank you
Nani Banani immersion is a way to neglect responsibility and reality when in reality, most people that complain about it lock themselves up in their dorm rooms and waste the the thousands of dollars that their parents payed for their college tuition by playing games that are "immersive"
- PhantomShadow - Hey that's a pretty immersive explanation , I guess I tickled the wrong bone in your system oh jolly good John
Nani Banani lol im not angry
You missed New Vegas (Original F3) and Fallout Tactics...
But good nonetheless.
when did they say that?
Cadetri Gaming
One thing is the existance of supermutants on the east coast which is impossible since they were created by the Master at Mariposa.
Though Fallout Tactics have at least two plot holes one being the name of the AK-112 assault rifle which was renamed into "AK-47"
And the intelligent Deathclaws that was created by the West coast Enclave.
I like how they drew the lone wanderer as a grown ass man with a pacifier
The Lone Wanderer dies unless you buy the DLC. Pretty shitty if you ask me...
You mean they die unless you buy the dlc
Funni Skele thanks
Gr8Vidz np
Gr8Vidz it makes 100% sense, Bethesda wanted to end fallout 3 on a bittersweet note to pay tribute to the original games but after they released they found out most people just wanted to keep playing
Gr8Vidz deacon is the lone wanderer
Fallout 3 ending in a nutshell: Pay us $20 and you get an extra life!
Could've sworn the pipboy in Fallout 1 said 2162. Or is that a glitch?
this guy was wrong
The first game was 80 years after the great war, the second game is 80 years after the events of the first.
fnvfan0145 fallout 1 is not in the time line
Yes it is.
fnvfan0145 it is a visual glitch
Here after watching the Fallout TV series which appears to be exactly based on the 3 mins story of Fallout 1,2,3 in this video but in the series they slightly changed the roles of the characters. I loved it, kinda gave me an opportunity to check out the wonderful story line I missed on the game.
It'll be great to see a Fallout TV series vs game comparision to get a better view of both, eitherway, I'd like to thank the creator of this video after 8 years since its made.
"Wheres fallout 4"
This video was a day before Fallout 4 came out.
HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS AND THEN he was revived by the brother hood of steel
Yeah but only if you pay money for the broken steel add-on. In my headcanon he sacrificed himself just like his father and it seems fitting
@@Xx_Tuberculosis_xXyeah
This is very inaccurate.
Dark Knight text me the whole story...
Jxse C
Google 'Fallout Wiki Timeline'
It’s both annoying and a lil funny.
77' likes. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Text the story
I LOVED THIS VIDEO GOOD JOB. 👍
I consider broken steel cannon.
It is.
+TK-199 witch means that good ol 101 lives
I consider the non-DLC ending canon.
Tactics is semi canon.
Who’s here because Fallout is out on Prime Video?!
Omg it was so good!
That is kind of true but you could also say u make ur own story up 4 the lone wonder depending on the choices u make in the game
They can't?! This new one is amazing.. * spoilers for Fallout 4 ahead *
You get frozed in a vault.
Spoilers!!
Actually, the Sole Survivor is a veteran.
Awesome Sauce.
Not the "sole survivoress", she's a lawyer.
Pedro Albano Oh. I did not know that.
I keep rewinding to the "Does he die? " part because I LOVE THAT ONE GUYS VOICE XD
3:03 wait MUSCLE MAN?
What about New Vegas?
not Bethesda therefore invalid
Elliott Bohringer
Has there been any mentioning of New Vegas within Fallout 4?
Joseph Calabrese Fraid ive not yet seen any. Including places, factions, characters, or even technologies.
Elliott Bohringer
I'm gonna argue that New Vegas is validated cannon.
2:58 the ending LOL XD
Great job 👏🏻
"aaaaaaaaaaarghhhh... I forgot to do the maaaath!!!! *Gibberish* " I don't know if that is funny because I laughed at that part.
The dweler left 13 for a water chip not the mutant threat
ummmmm.... i'm pretty sure the US lost in the vietnam war...
Not that anybody really "won" that war.
+Austin Murre Technically it wasn't even a war, but a military action. Congress never declared war.
INVADE the us. Moron.
You missed some fallouts on top of being inaccurate. Lame sauce video
The other fallouts are uncannon except for 4. And yah, he was wrong about a shit ton of stuff in this vid.
+Baby Jesus tactics is semi cannon and new vegas is fully cannon
L bitch
He missed one, the best one, but least important, get over it
***** lol my bad bro
I see an ad for this video on the side...
#Ipad
Lol yep same #ipad
Use sticky tape and it becomes a pipboy
best fallout lore video
ARGHHH!!!I FORGOT TO DO THE MATH!!
"In the 1950s, all cultural progress stops in the US for no reason."
Umm, no. It stopped because in the Fallout timeline, the transistor never came to prominence, thus severely limiting technological advancements. Do your research next time instead of trying to be funny.
Salty much?
***** Yeah, look at the rest of the comments.
nop we need nv and 4
i like on how The Lone Wonder still has the dummy in his mouth and how he looks so intimidated at here 2:52 look at his face!
No love for new vegas?
I was going to reply that too, but then remembered that New Vegas can be pretty complicated, especially since there are 4 endings.
mailman get shot in the head bla bla bla gets revenge, becomes king of vegas BOOM
Doesn't count as a fallout game because it is not made by the people with the rights to it
+DoubleR Gaming Obsidian temporarily bought the rights. If they hadn't, Bethesda would have sued them for copyright infringement.
+DoubleR Gaming Bethesda published it.
broken steel is canon
that was the joke for the end, in original game Lone wanderer dies, in expansion he lives.
Disliked. No New Vegas or DLC.
it says fallout 3 not new vegas
***** im srry pls dont shoot up my school
I would love to see super mutants jump roping. I would die laughing.
The amount of inaccuracies is so bad it's cring worthy.
No new vegas, No dignity
with all the time you took trying to make dumb jokes, you could've fit Nee Vegas in there because i'm sure there is a large number of people (i included) who loved New Vegas more than Fallout 3
“Nobody leaves the vaults for around 200 years” *spits coffee* IT WAS LIKE 20 YEARS
You forgot America annexing canada
I dont think this guy know buy the meaning of "ENTIRE fallout storyline"
I don't think you should have done all the story before #3... Being as you clearly don't know it. The Fallout 3 stuff was fine but all the stuff from Fallout 1 and 2 and everything before that was pretty much wholistically incorrect.
Watching when fallout 76's pre-order is avilable
im beginning to judge the correctness of your 3 minute stories. Their technology didn't stop at 1950 or whatever. It expanded based off of nuclear technology. They focuses all their research power on improving nuclear powered items, Cars, radios, TVs, washing machines, etc. Everything was powered by nuclear technology.
yea. fallout tech is far superior and more practical than video games and fast computers. the timeline changing from ours was right after ww2.
But What about New Vegas-Chan?
"For no reason" is this a joke
yeah this entire video is very inaccurate. Don't make a video about what you think you know.
@Arcanecloud
+John Xray *@Arcadecloud
+John Xray do +Arcadecloud
ArcadeCloud
+John Xray They might just be wanting to cash in on that Fallout hype.
Wheres new Vegas
Did the lone wanderer died? Yes yes he did originally but then Broken steel came about and then once you had that installed he survives and kicks the enclaves ass at their secondary base Adams AFB
only if you took the good karma route and saves project purity. otherwise your no.
cartoonzgaming Well if you let the project explode then yeah dead but the character lives either way
Julian Cumbia one thing the enclave didn’t have, hundreds of men and a giant robot.
So they went 2 space after blowing ur robot up
If this comment gets 2K likes, Im going to eat 2K cheese (100 per day)
No New Vegas? Dislike
+sharkmanx_ New Vegas is a spin-off dipshit
+sharkmanx_ New Vegas was shit anyway, was only good for modding
+haltroid the gameplay was great, to me anyway.
+DankGamer69 New Vegas was canon. Look it up.
+DankGamer69 Fallout 3 was a spin-off, dipshit.
At 1:53 The Right Enclave has the E messed up, then it went back to normal
fuck this virus XD
That was the best narration ever.
The crack at the expense of the broken steel dlc there at the end was priceless
My bother threw Lego bricks on the floor while I was running
War never changes
This sums up the game *PERFECTLY.*
no it doesn't he missed new Vegas.
