Vault 3 was a control vault and had no experiment. It opened on time and the dwellers went out to repopulate... only to be killed by the Fiends.
You mention that there has been no technological progress, but there has indeed been a lot of progress. The difference is that while we focused on creating transistors and semi-conductors to make things smaller in the real world, they continued to improve upon vacuum-tube technology.
When referring to oil, you showed a car. This is one of the major oversights in the Fallout Universe considering cars don't run off of oil. They run on atomic reactors. The gas stations you see aren't actually gas stations. They're filling stations for coolant. It was the scarcity of oil that drove such a large change. No longer were tanks a viable option due to the requirement for oil and gas. Thus power armor was born. Fuel efficient (hardly!), mobile, powerful, and compact.

+Red Judas Actually, the nuclear reactors that the cars run on only came about in the late 21st century, in response to the need for an alternative source of energy for cars. They were made quickly and are in most cars still, but they were developed too late to have any notable effect on the energy crisis. It's why coolant prices were so prohibitively expensive.

+Mr. Vulcanator Not in the actual games story line but I would imagine that since the Enclave is the remnants of the US gov and the Advanced Power Armor wasn't developed until sometime right around the events of Fallout 1,they would have likely used the T-45 being that it was standard issue before the bombs fell for the army.The only reason the Brotherhood even still uses T-45 is because it was so much more plentiful compared to the T-51 and they're basically the Army anyway so they had access to and knew where the stocks were kept.But yeah,it was probably for animations sake anyway :p

2220: Enclave scientists finally develop a reliable version of what they call "advanced power armor".The prototype's capabilities (and the various accidents, explosions, and deaths involved in its creation) are classified by order of the Enclave's President Dick Richardson for the sake of morale.
2242: After the destruction of the Oil Rig, the Enclave finished developing a Tesla Power Armor based on the standard advanced power armor, which provides less protection than advanced power armor, Mk II, but allows the wearer to wield energy weapons more effectively.

If they were to show the proper way china would invade alaska, then they would have to put a line off the right side of the screen, and then apear on the left side. This would be confusing, and not visually pleasant, so they didn't do this. However, they could have used a map with china on the left, america on the right, and the pacific in the center, but they prefered the world map, once again, for visual reasons. Why cant anyone figure this out lol???

Me when I take a test and didn't do the math correctly!
Here after watching the Fallout TV series which appears to be exactly based on the 3 mins story of Fallout 1,2,3 in this video but in the series they slightly changed the roles of the characters. I loved it, kinda gave me an opportunity to check out the wonderful story line I missed on the game.
It'll be great to see a Fallout TV series vs game comparision to get a better view of both, eitherway, I'd like to thank the creator of this video after 8 years since its made.

vaults didn't open for 200 years? what the heck are you talking about vault 101? was the exception not the rule. Harold left Vault 29 in 2090, thirteen years after the bombs fell.
Just to add a bit more, this is indeed the exception, because Vault 101's social experiment involved the vault staying closed forever.

Err, Bethesda wouldn't know what Fallout canon was even if it bit them in the ass.
Bethesda's Fallout on the other hand DOES conflict with canon extremely.
Though Fallout Tactics has its canonical hiccups but nowhere near those of Bethesda's Fallout.

One thing is the existance of supermutants on the east coast which is impossible since they were created by the Master at Mariposa.
Though Fallout Tactics have at least two plot holes one being the name of the AK-112 assault rifle which was renamed into "AK-47"
And the intelligent Deathclaws that was created by the West coast Enclave.
Bethesda messed up the comedy thing about Fallout plus making a great RPG into another shooter.
True the BOS (Even though less possible) and especially Enclave could exist on the East coast no problem.
The Midwestern BOS was (Had there been a sequel to Fallout Tactics) meant to degrade into fascist wannabees and in a second game the player would have been fighting the Midwestern BOS.
Fallout New Vegas alone, technically isn't canon. The DLC says what the Courier does *after* the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, but it's never actually hinted at who won in the actual battle or what the Courier did in the Mojave in Fallout 4 or by Bethesda.

I hate how so many people are so Fallout 3 & 4 focused, completely ignore 1 & 2, and often gloss over New Vegas (IMO the best one).

NCRranger24 - Gaming and More! Absolutely. All the games are excellent, with the exception of Brotherhood of Steel and the possible exception of Tactics (depending on if it's your thing or not). I understand that Fallout 1 & 2 came out before Fallout became mainstream, and for that reason most people haven't played them.
To be fair, my first Fallout game was Fallout 3, but I did go back and play through Fallout 1 and 2 after New Vegas came out. So I'm not an OG fan by any means either. But people should at least give the old games a shoutout, even if they haven't played them. Many people act like Fallout 3 was the first game.

The Vault Dweller in Fallout 1 left Vault 13 in 2161, 84 years after the bombs fell in the Great War, which was October 23rd, 2077. The 200 year thing only works for Fallout 3 and Vault 101

I don't mean to be rude, but this is a grossly generalized version of Fallout lore. I know that you only have three minutes, but there are a lot of small mistakes that bother me. Also, one of the biggest parts of Fallout's pre-war society was the 'miraculous' discoveries and advances in nuclear engineering, a field of study that was much more closely focused upon due to the havoc caused by the bombings on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The research that followed those bombings is where the timeline split between our world and Fallout's. People spent their time researching robotics and nuclear power, rather than computers and smartphones, and people were so satisfied with their life that, for a while at least, no great scientific discoveries were made. The government, which was still struggling for resources at this point (Even if it was nothing compared to the real struggles of the resource wars), was much less willing to give grants to others, keeping their dwindling supplies to themselves; hence the Enclave. I could go on, but you get the point.

Fallout takes place 80 years after the bombs fell. Fallout 2 is 80 years after Fallout. Fallout _3_ takes place in 2277...Fallout New Vegas takes Place in 2281, and Fallout 4 in 2287. Please get your timeline right?

Because the lone wanderer was the most pointless uninteresting piece of shit ever, Bethesda wrote the game's story for your dad... You're just there, along for the ride. Well, it really is, because in "Fallout 4" Liberty Prime is in pieces and needs to be put together again. If I am correct, it gets broken in the end of "Broken Steel" DLC, leading to said rebuilding in "4". So yeah, canon.
From what I know, all DLCs are canon. Only "Fallout: BOS" and "Tactics" (I think) games are not canon.

The lone Wanderer, according to unknown sources, SURVIVED the lethal dose of radiation at the end of Fallout 3. However, Sentinel Lyons was not so lucky. The Lone Wanderer was distraught, and Madison Li (now siding with the Institute) asked for the institute to create a synth of Lyons. The Lone Wanderer thought Lyons survived when he saw the synth, but that wasn't the case. After this the Lone Wanderer and sentinel Lyons formed a relationship and continued their work with the Brotherhood of Steel. However, with Maxson now the new leader of the Brotherhood he hated muties, ghouls and New on the list, synths. The brotherhood outcasts infiltrated Adams Air Force base and the citadel pretending to be Brotherhood soldiers. After this Maxson goes out on a mission with the Lone Wanderer, Lyons and the outcasts to an old Enclave outpost where Lyons is gunned down by the outcasts. Maxson and the Lone Wanderer retaliate and shoot all of the outcasts. The Lone Wanderer, unable to go to the commonwealth with the brotherhood because the prydwen was not done, set off to go to the commonwealth. Some say he helped the institute, some say he helped the Brotherhood defeat the institute. He had many facial reconstructions so people didn't know who he was, but some say he might even have worked for the railroad. Some say... he's Deacon!

I'm gonna argue that New Vegas is validated cannon. It was published by Bethesda you know.
And I say that it's basically "Fallout 3.5" Everything that was cool about Fallout 3, has been improved by New Vegas. More weapons to play with, More diverse locations to visit, Multiple endings to achieve, And Hard core mode made the game realistic!
Also, The Fallout series was made by multiple game developers over time. Is Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 invalid because they were developed by Black Isle Studios?

Jesus, gentlemen, is it like an unspoken blasphemy to show any use of search engines in TH-cam comments? Just google it! The "Lone Wanderer" protagonist, in Fallout 3, leaves Vault 101 in 2277. The "Lone Survivor" protagonist, in Fallout 4, leaves Vault 111 in 2087 (210 years after the Great War, to the day [October 23]).
Fallout 3 was 200 years after the bombs fell and in fallout 4 it was 210 years after the bombs fell.
There are even hints in the story like
1. In fallout 3 elder maxson was only 10 years old and in fallout 4 he's only 20
2. Codsworth mentions that the main player missed the last 210 years of the apocalypse
So pretty much fallout 4 takes place 10 years after fallout 3

im beginning to judge the correctness of your 3 minute stories. Their technology didn't stop at 1950 or whatever. It expanded based off of nuclear technology. They focuses all their research power on improving nuclear powered items, Cars, radios, TVs, washing machines, etc. Everything was powered by nuclear technology.
yea. fallout tech is far superior and more practical than video games and fast computers. the timeline changing from ours was right after ww2.
