My family is of Finnish heritage from the upper midwest where most people have a sauna in their homes. My mother is 85 and in great shape, due in great part I believe to her regular use of a sauna. I have an infrared sauna that I've gotten out of the habit of using since we moved two years ago. Thank you for the inspiration to use it regularly once again. By the way, it throws me to hear your upper midwest accent without pronouncing it "Sowna" as the Finlanders do.

We purchased an infrared sauna. We have basements here in PA. I am finishing our basement and put the sauna in our basement bathroom.
Our son and family live in Germany. Their routine for using a sauna is 20 minutes in, cold shower and back into sauna, for a cycle of three times.
Infrared actually heats objects so the cabinet/building does get hot.
We do use a humidifier to bump up the moisture in the sauna.

Thank you, watching your videos is very informative. I've used a hot tub for years in my healing protocol for my muscles (autoimmune disease) along with Keto and fasting. Does the heat from my hot tub also produce the same effect as you describe here? Thanks

None of the local health clubs in Knoxville Tennessee will allow jacuzzis or saunas because of ridiculous covid restrictions. It's a real shame and I'm looking forward to them being opened again. Wish I had one at home but I don't.

Same here in Birmingham, Alabama. So we ordered an infrared sauna for our home. Because of extreme backorder, we will probably not receive it for another two months.

Awesome content, Dr Boz. Feeling blessed to have ‘stumbled’ across your channel and I’m super grateful for everything you are doing and the level of commitment and passion you put in to spreading this priceless information. Thank you.
Do you have any information on cryotherapy? I have a health centre close to home with an infrared sauna, cryotherapy tank and a float tank and I’m thinking of doing going fortnightly for all 3 during my fast.

Is the increase of growth hormone bad for who's got a tumor? So, consequently is saunas good or bad for cancer? Every time I do saunas (I do 3 hours in and out with also cold plunges) my glucose rises alot and my ketones lower. Please reply @Dr.Boz

The Finnish sauna are called “dry sauna” it’s correct we pours water over the hot stone and makes what we call “Sauna gus” but it’s not a steam sauna. The Finnish sauna are tolerated very well by people with asthma but the steam sauna are not.

The sweat flushes out the toxins that were hiding in those same pores. Fewer toxins mean fewer clogged pores, which mean smoother skin. Replacing intense activity with high temperatures has a similar effect👍

My routine: Sit in sauna until it hurts (normally 5 - 10minutes). Go out, sit down to cool off, maybe as long again. I sweat a lot during this time. Then shower in cool water AND turn down the temperature to minimum, and stand there until that hurts and I can't bear it anymore. Then back into sauna and repeat x 3.

This seems like a silly question. Are the portable saunas where your head is out as affective? I would think that would cool your temperature down some.

Dry heat = low humidity. Compared to a Finnish sauna, where steam increases humidity.
