Had cotton tail rabbits eat through my 97 Mustang Cobra wiring in Colorado Springs. Would have never believed it. Love my RF! This is most defiantly the kind of "stuff" i'm wanting to see before I get there. You can also make 1/4 x 1/4 by adding a second layer at 90 degree angle to the original. Run what you brung. Je pense raisonnablement, qu au mieux, un bébé souris pourrait passer, mais pas une adulte !!!!! Bravo, bonne idée de votre part et merci de l avoir partagé !!!!!

I consider myself fairly handy, so I followed this TH-cam video and added 1/4" hardware fabric to the opening using pretty much the same process described in this video. I then removed and inspected the OEM filter under the dash. All I found was a little leaf debris so all is good, right?
Wrong! I can guarantee I will NOT do the below dash remove and clean again. It was a real pain. My realization is whatever fabric is placed over the opening on top must be fine enough to not only keep out mice but also leaves, leave debris, and anything else not wanted in the ventilation system.
I will redo this procedure after I find a fabric approximately the same spacing as the below dash screen. If not successful finding such fabric, I may simply buy the aftermarket kit from Flyin' Miata, use their above dash filter, and throw away their replacement below dash pleated filter.

Forget about that wire mice can get in and will also eat the metal mesh it happend to me but for the dryer! What you are using is the size of a dime need a little smaller but if they want to get there they will eat it!
