And since most of these idiots plays are based off of TH-cam recommendations you can just look at popular videos of deck profiles and I'm sure that makes the reads even more funny.

It's not that crazy. I usually get 3-4 of my syncros out on my first turn. Especially if there are no negates on any of my monster/spell effects. Too many people pack it with tenyis and don't focus as hard on the ss side of the deck.

I’m an old school player that initially started when the game first came out (sacrificing 2 monsters to get dark magician or blue eyes on the field was a big deal at the time). Is this really how games are played now? Summoning 5 monsters and winning game on a first turn sounds ridiculous lol
Those were big deal cards Dark Magician Blue Eyes and Toon World Harpies These were themed decks that everyone wanted or seen on the anime. Almost unplayable on mobile DL and MD you can get one turn knocked out from simply going second and bricking or draw dead - it's overs and gg. They have support cards for those monsters but now day yui GI oh is over the top compared to Old School yuigi oh ( I remember too but I mainly watched the anime). Heroes Deck would be viable option for old school players though they are quite strong and follow the old mechanics of dueling that we know and the deck it self is straightforward with versatility it can take down powerful decks. Con it's expensive to obtain on DL and the core cards needs are UR which doesn't help.
These newer gen decks can be countered just like any deck. The new gen cards rely on discarding to graveyard or banishing in order to bring more cards out, and it's all effect monsters. Many cards and combos to counter this. Recently I have been experimenting with a timelord deck and the results have been exciting.
How Modern Yu-Gi-Oh is played looks like how we played as a kid before knowing rules. I place pot of greed which allows me to draw 18 cards and summon every monster in my hand, and each of them get 10,000 attack Because they're best friends, gg
