FireRed was the first game I ever beat; I think I was 6 or 7. This was the first final boss I had ever faced, so the concept of an endgame opponent was entirely new to me -- and boy, seeing my rival who I'd been facing off against the entire game, always one step ahead of me, sitting atop his throne as the most powerful trainer in the world, and then hearing his new theme play, complete with a god damn *choir,* really felt like the ultimate battle.
I always liked the rival more then Red. His confident and cocky personality was perfect for a rival and when I was young I thought he was so cool
I bet it was even more satisfying when seeing how you defeat that cocky asshole that was always one step ahead of you.

The memories of this fight the first time and not knowing the rival was actually the champ. My ten year old jaw hit the floor.

Lol I tried beating it with a level 84 kadabra and always made it to lance
cant remember if it was my first game I ever beat but I remember that I did it with a level 78 Vaporeon only and Blue picked charmander as his starter

Unless you have Blastoise, that beast legitimately has an advantage over Venusaur because of Ice beam.

Pokémon 🔥 Red: Charizard, Pidgeot, Raticate, Nidoking, Electrode and Vaporeon.
Pokémon 🍃 Green: Blastoise, Fearow, Raichu, Ninetales, Primeape and Victreebel.
Amazing battles against the Champion, intense, on🔥.
I just finished my red Version for GameBoy and i defeated Blue with a (i would say underleveled) Team. But hey, I finished it.
But this music, gave me the vibes during the fight😅😏
When I beat blue, my charizard was level 50, the rest of my team were in the late 40s.
whenever i listen to this song,i get filled with nostalgia and feel really good because i beat blue FIRST TRY.

I just played Fire Red for the first time recently and I myself beat Blue on my first try!
I beat Cynthia in platinum first try when I was 5. Somehow, I lost to F##king Lance.
I think blue was much easier than lance
I beat Cynthia on my first try as a kid on Platinum. But it was incredibly close. 3 more turns and I would've lost.

Your team actually has great coverage over blue!
You could use Rhydon to easily knock out Pidgeot
Alakazam would be the only problem
You could use Venasaur against his Rhydon
You could use Weezing against his Exeggutor
Raichu to shatter his Gyarados
And Rhydon to knock out his Charizard.

I did a Hardcore Nuzlocke in LeafGreen last year and won. This was my final team along with their respective Nicknames, Levels, Movesets and Abilities when I entered the Hall of Fame:
1. Cabbage (Lv. 61 Venusaur): Razor Leaf, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder and Frenzy Plant with the ability Overgrow.
2. Raspberry (Lv. 62 Slowbro): Surf, Psychic, Ice Beam and Flamethrower with the ability Oblivious.
3. Squash (Lv. 61 Dragonite): Fly, Outrage, Rock Tomb and Fire Blast with the ability Inner Focus.
4. Grapefruit (Lv. 62 Raichu): Iron Tail, Thunderbolt, Quick Attack and Thunder Wave with the ability Static.
5. Potato (Lv. 61 Snorlax): Yawn, Protect, Body Slam and Shadow Ball with the ability Thick Fat.
6. Onion (Lv. 61 Rhydon): Rock Slide, Earthquake, Brick Break and Double Edge with the ability Rock Head.
My naming theme was fruits and vegetables and I had no deaths at all during the E4 and Champion fights respectively. It was pretty easy but pretty fun for a first nuzlocke though. This was probably one of my best teams I've had in a Pokemon game in a long time.

Had jolteon and graveler be my two immunity for Electric types.
The first time I ever played Firered (,my first Pokémon game), my rival's Venusaur was actually really intimidating.

So nostalgic, beating the elite league and Gary with just lvl 51 Pokémons while the others had lvl 59. I had to depend on revive, max potion and luck like confusion or paralyze lol

Beat the original blue recently. When i first heard the theme for this battle i was shocked at how much work gamefreak put into this game

I beat the original Red with just Blastoose, Dugtrio, and Nidoking. It was easy enough because I know about Gen 1's weird mechanics, but I doubt I'll pull it off again on Fire Red.

My only pokemon was a level 87 Blastoise with Ice Beam prepared against Venusaur. I missed Ice Beam 1st turn and Venusaur hit me with sleep powder and ended all my remaining pokemon that contained an HM mule, gift pokemons that I never use and a pokemon caught from the victory road which was an Onix.
But ice beam is 100% accuracy move..
