Great lesson. I was looking for someone who didn’t wet the entire paper for 2 minutes and then you have to paint real fast before it dries. This was terrific.
I love that you move the paper around as you paint and are not using an easel! Also some of the most beautifully painted watercolor clouds that I've seen in a tutorial.
These are EXACTLY the kind of clouds I want to learn to paint! So many others doing cloud painting demos/instruction make them too soft and not distinct enough for my taste. Thank you so much!
This is, absolutely, the best video I've seen on painting clouds. (And I've watched quite a few.) You explain everything so well! I'm going to try this soon. Thank you so much! New sub.
As a watercolor painter, this is the only video that explains (I've found) technique with the palette mixing thoroughly, so thank you! Those are some perfect clouds!
Thank you for all your helpful tips. The sky Looks lovely, and the way you did it seems much Easier to follow, than watching someone splash The paper with water and drop all kinds of colour in. Your hedging too looks great and more manageable to follow. So much help. Thanks
Thank you, and if you get more comfortable you’ll be adding more water and more color! I think this is a great starting point for getting comfortable with skies.
Thank you, Keith. I really like your style of watercolour painting. You have taught me a lot about painting clouds and distant trees in this video. I would love to see you paint a sunset or sunrise, please. :)
Enjoy your teachings. I can understand you and your approach. Question... you spoke of the magic eraser... and how to eraser "oops". Where can I find your explanation? Have searched and came up empty. Thank you again
Nice painting....the final result was warm landscape with cool clouds.... Thanks for sharing. Minor suggestion about the audio quality....to improve it. Regards
Hi, this is the best video tutorial for drawing clouds with Watercolor ... it's the truth. If possible there is only one small note: the oblique shot on the drawing board does not help much to those who are trying to learn, the video camera should be in front of the drawing sheet. Thank you so much
I am a beginner to watercolor. Where can I find the watercolor paint Indigo? I have started using MGraham paints and thry don't carry it. Please grt back to me.
Good video. Thanks. Suggestion, though ... it's kind of hard to watch, as the video so often shows the painting upside down or half upside down and half sideways. It'd be so much better to show the painting process with the painting rightsize up!
Hi Keith.. just found you and so glad I did. Finally! Someone who doesn't wet the whole sky and lift cloud area.. never got the knack of that. I also heard the guy in the background mention Lowel-Cornel brush... where do you get those. I have some from many years ago... saber/dagger... which are my favorite brushes and i can't find them. Thanks for great instruction... including pigments which so many never share and its so important to know..
Hi love your style of painting the clouds.. Audio not working can't hear you. What name brand of you brush, love its point. Thank you best regards Deedee
Keith, really like your painting style but I wish I had a reference photo for your barn from Sweden and the cabin by the creek so that I could make a good sketch to paint. I'm looking on Amazon to see which Smichke(sp) set you are using and I can't find one with crimson in it. Could you give me the name of your set and the number of pans in it? Thank you, Priscilla Ware.
Love this!! I've struggled with clouds for a bit. Im excited to try this out! Also wanted to ask how you prep your paper. Like you, I turn my canvas. How and what are you taping your paper to? Thanks again, great tutorial! 😊😊😊
Wow, I used to have an art teacher and he was my favourite teacher of all time and his initials are the same as yours but instead of Keith his name is Kevin
I do exactly the opposite. I wet where I want clouds and put the blue in between then bleed into the wet areas. I'm dyslexic and it just makes more sense to my brain. Lol.
Hi Erika, I’m using a standard blue tape for house painting/trim. It’s sticky enough to hold to the paper but not damage it upon removing. Green frog tape is just as good, But more expensive.
Request: please consider moving the camera to an over your shoulder shot so the viewer can get a horizontal view. Right now, most ot the time we are looking at an extreme slant that is very taxing on the brain.
I wish your photographer would keep your painting upright. I am a novice and you kept turning your painting around and I couldn't follow you. I wish you would have mentioned you drew in the clouds before I started wetting the paper. And I didn't know where the top was because you didn't say it before you started painting.
r k mcguire after saying that, I found schmincke phthalo and tested it and it looked just like yours. Then I remembered why I didn't use it. Love your videos BTW.
Thank you for this lesson. At 70, I am finally learning watercolor.
Great lesson. I was looking for someone who didn’t wet the entire paper for 2 minutes and then you have to paint real fast before it dries. This was terrific.

The yellow ochre really makes the sky pop - lovely clouds. Thank you.
I gave this a big thumbs up way before the halfway point. So educational, and makes it look like so much fun. Thank you.
Thanks
LOVE the split screen idea! Good teaching techniques. Thank you.
These are EXACTLY the kind of clouds I want to learn to paint! So many others doing cloud painting demos/instruction make them too soft and not distinct enough for my taste. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
Id love to see you paint sunset or sunrise clouds. Also wispy coulds! Thanks for a great demo!!
These clouds are so artsy and real and heavenly. Thanks!👍
Thank you!

I think I’ll give this one a try. Thanks for sharing!
As a watercolor painter, this is the only video that explains (I've found) technique with the palette mixing thoroughly, so thank you! Those are some perfect clouds!
I like that you worked
with one color !
Excellent tutorial thank you for sharing your expertise! This cloudy sky is happy and beautiful :)
Thank you for all your helpful tips. The sky
Looks lovely, and the way you did it seems much

Your hedging too looks great and more manageable to follow.
So much help.

Fantastic technique. Love how you leave the clouds in rather than lift out. Great job
Just found you and I'm just thrilled with your style and set up. I love clouds and struggle with them. This is going to help. Ty!
So happy to have found you. My next try!
I'm liking the sky, going to try that this weekend. Good demonstration.
Clouds have been a problem for me and your video helps so much. Thanks.
I'm trying to start watercolor painting and this just blew my mind, awesome work my friend!
Love your clouds and sky.
Thanks!
I'm watching this again and learning so much from you, Keith. I'd love to see you paint a sunrise and a sunset. Thanks.
By your request, we'll put something togther for you! Sunset first, I think!
Thanks for your comments!!
Oh, that's wonderful. I can't wait to watch it. You're the very best. Many thanks.

Enjoy your teachings. I can understand you and your approach. Question... you spoke of the magic eraser... and how to eraser "oops". Where can I find your explanation? Have searched and came up empty. Thank you again
Very nice cloud demonstration and beautiful result on the sky. The foreground seemed like an unnecessary after thought.
Nice painting....the final result was warm landscape with cool clouds....
Thanks for sharing.
Minor suggestion about the audio quality....to improve it.

What kind and size of paintbrush is this? it is not in the description. Great tutorial!
It's really very awesome video 😘😲😍😍❤💕🤗🙏
"watching paint dry"- lol. Just found you and enjoy your style of teaching. Liked, subscribed. (=

WOW NEVER KNEW THAT U COULD DO IT LIKE THAT!😁😱👌😯
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
r k mcguire well that's incredible
Thank you so much. this is a great video.
Really good and useful thank you. Only wondering why you left the tops of the clouds. They look way to sharp-edged to me, too drawn. Sorry.
Good video. Thanks. Suggestion, though ... it's kind of hard to watch, as the video so often shows the painting upside down or half upside down and half sideways. It'd be so much better to show the painting process with the painting rightsize up!

Pat Kin: I agree! This method looks so much better, and I'm trying it soon!
I SUBSCRIBED thanks Keith
We (or I should say "I") definitely need your drawing, as it is an integral part of your painting.
Learnt so much , Thankyou
Hi love your style of painting the clouds.. Audio not working can't hear you. What name brand of you brush, love its point. Thank you best regards Deedee
The "Jerry Garcia" of the Watercolor World - ... Your Painting? ... "It's a beautiful Thing" ... Thank you for this great Demonstration!

would you like to tell me what kind of paper you use? arches?
Arches 140# cold press- Best there is, Very good for beginners and pros!! Very durable.
thank you!
Beautiful👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💖💖💖💖💖😍😍😍😍😍😍
Love this!! I've struggled with clouds for a bit. Im excited to try this out! Also wanted to ask how you prep your paper. Like you, I turn my canvas. How and what are you taping your paper to? Thanks again, great tutorial! 😊😊😊
Loved the video but I, too, want to know how you prepared your paper please.
Wow, I used to have an art teacher and he was my favourite teacher of all time and his initials are the same as yours but instead of Keith his name is Kevin
Great video!
Very clear explanation. Thanks for that. Could you put a paraglider on this sky? For me??? Plee, plee, please? I don't know how do this!!! Bless you.
What was the brand of paint again?
schmincke watercolor paint
How do you split the screen like that
multi-camera setup and some editing
I do exactly the opposite. I wet where I want clouds and put the blue in between then bleed into the wet areas. I'm dyslexic and it just makes more sense to my brain. Lol.
It was missing a horizon line to look more realistic . Nice cloud though
Lol... I choked when I heard you say how you clean your brush on your pants...as I stare to the wet spot on my knee😀🎨
What tape do you use? Why does mine wrinkle with water? I’m using 200 gsm cold pressed.
Hi Erika, I’m using a standard blue tape for house painting/trim. It’s sticky enough to hold to the paper but not damage it upon removing. Green frog tape is just as good, But more expensive.
r k mcguire Thank you so much! 😊
FYI your microphone isn't working.
No...ur ear doesn't work
Thanks for this turtorila (tried spelling turtorial but left it as turtorila bc it's a hilarious mistake)
Are you instagram! Your lesson is very helpful to me. Thanks.
The video is great. But the audio needs work.
Request: please consider moving the camera to an over your shoulder shot so the viewer can get a horizontal view. Right now, most ot the time we are looking at an extreme slant that is very taxing on the brain.
Sound needs to be worked on!
Is it only me who finds the sound very poor? Can barely hear it a full volume.
Yep the volume is a bit low on this video, but a great tutorial nonetheless!
But the sound is soft. Its not too pitchy.
Need closed captioning!
👍😍👍
Sound is very scratchy.
great technique but the theee camera views are disorienting and the sound i
of the poer being moved around was distracting
Holy crap Keith. Those paints are expensive!!! Ouch.
But they last for a long time.
Hmmm. So far, at 9 minutes, it is looking like you are painting a globe or the nations or something.
If he bends that paper one more time...
I wish your photographer would keep your painting upright. I am a novice and you kept turning your painting around and I couldn't follow you. I wish you would have mentioned you drew in the clouds before I started wetting the paper. And I didn't know where the top was because you didn't say it before you started painting.
Looks more phthalo than cerulean
Josh Lawson Hey Josh I have to admit that the Schminke pan pants cerulean blue does look much more like a Phthalo.
r k mcguire after saying that, I found schmincke phthalo and tested it and it looked just like yours. Then I remembered why I didn't use it. Love your videos BTW.
Thanks Josh.
Yea use that "guy" .
Draw LUCY.com
The green background doesn't compliment you. It's a bit distracting
,
Very low audio.. Can't hear a thing your saying 😢
