Great job!! I wish I had your skills - and workshop :) . Given me the inspiration to replace the bearings on my Briggs & Stratton electric powered cement mixer, wish me luck.
Watching your vids, I got more and more involved and I would have liked to been able to give you an extra pair of hands to do the lifting when you needed it - and made you a cup of tea.

Hi there. Great job on repairing the mixer, which looked a mammoth task. I'm after some advice about a identical problem on a recent purchase. Same mixer, same problem only i cant get the shaft out. Ive heated it but no luck. Any advice gladly appreciated.

Hi Bryan thx for the comment, The shaft will more than likely have rusted to the inside if the bearings which
will be a nightmare to remove if it was me doing it I would drill a hole in the top of the bell shaft and use a
large drift to hammer from that side which will be easier that trying to pull it. Or if you have a good slidehammer
make a fitting to attach to the 2 bolts at the end of the shaft. Good luck with whatever you try.
      Cheers Nigel

    Hi
My drum has more movement than I believe to be normal.
What bolts do you add washers to? Especially when the drum is upside down. If I give it a wiggle is about 10mm gap or could this be due the bearing failure.

Hello Jeb it does sound like the bearings are getting a little worn the only bolts that hold
the drum on are the 2 big bolts that are on the cross bar of the drum holder not sure
if adding any washers would help tho. Please let me know how you get on
      cheers Nigel.

      Hi
So I have put the drum facing up and gave it a wobble. One side is tight but the other side moves 10mm. I have also notice there is 6 washers added. Do you think this is looking more likely the barrings are knackered.
This is a second hand mixer not long purchased.

JebThe1 I am not sure I can make a good diagnosis without looking at it but if the 2 bolts for the main shaft are tight the play must be in the bearings. Good luck nigel

Am i only one to notice the mistake this man did here when he machined the parts to hold the end bearing ? on the end of the part from inside the drum which was cut off to get out the bearing on end of shaft , when that bearing comes out there is a small lip on inside to stop bearing going in to far , when the man put bearing onto shaft he put them right through the housing and if you think about this it only leaves the 1 big circlip to hold the drum onto the shaft where as if he had to put bearing into other end of housing and had machined a lip to stop bearing going up through the housing , then put shaft through housing into bearing at the end then refit the circlip to end of shaft , leaving you with 2 circlips and the small clip holding on the drum , so anyone else see that mistake ????

Hello Gordon thx for the comment, we all make mistakes in life but 6 years down the line and the mixer is still working no problems at all and if I hadn't have tried to repair it is was off to the scrap yard. nuff said.

@@fixitnige i was not putting you down on the work you did on the concrete mixer you did a splendid job on showing everything in your video, I just did bearings on one for a friend and it was just there was a lip where the end bearing is and had to push in bearing then press the shaft in with the other bearing on to the end one then fit the circlip, so I was only pointing out a mistake, but the lip might have been corroded of the one that you fixed, at the end of the day you went into good detail when you made videos,
