    Do you have the winch cable connected to the top of the tower to pull it up?

    • @Robertbfender

      No. About 8 ft up tower. Its ALUMINUM.
      Not that heavy like steel

    One question: Why was the coax cable not attached to the tower using zip ties or some other connection mehod?

    • @Robertbfender

      Because I like to let my junk dangle.

      If I did feel the need to give you an explanation it would be that I was planning on moving soon and it was tied off at the top no weight or pool on the PL 259 and I tie wrapped it at the bottom a little above the roof. No need to panic but I appreciate your concern. I personally don’t like spending all that time cinching tire wraps and then cutting them off. You really don’t need to do all that But have fun if you choose to do it on your next big job. Next time I’ll consult you for advice before I do something.

      It's an electric wench from Harbor freight about $140 but would not work well with a steel tower. Probably snatch it out of the wall. This aluminum tower is very lightweight.

    I hope you're still around these days to answer a few questions. I'm looking into making a setup like this and I was wondering: 1) How tall is it and are you using gye wires or free standing 2)is that just normal rohn 25 all the way up or if not, what is it 3)was this a kit, if so any idea from where 4)how much was this 5)any idea what your wind rating is? Anyways, looks awesome, i've only seen it done this way a few times, but I love the concept. - Cheers.

    • @Robertbfender
      @Robertbfender  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's an Aluminum 40 ft tilt over tower. Go to Universaltowers.com
      I have it bracketed to the roof and the winch tight. No wires.
      Not sure about wind.
      Purchased new probably 3 to 4 thousand. Steel tower may be too heavy
      To try with this small Harbor Freight winch and block wall of home. Good Luck

    Why do you have to let it down so much?

    • @Robertbfender
      @Robertbfender  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Let's see hurricane came through bent my pole had to lower it. Coax started acting up a few years ago. Had to replace my coax had to lower it. My son wanted to add a cell phone tower antenna for his Internet service so I had to lower it again. I moved five years ago had to lower it down then. One time lightning hit my antenna I had a 2000 ground plane burn up everything except my tower. Once again I had to lower it that was about seven years ago I could probably think of a few more occasions, but there you have it
