Hi Justin, love your vids and I've leaned so much! TY! I was compelled to weigh in regarding the eBay increase in sales limits emails. I just watched this video last night and this morning I have the same email from eBay increasing my SALES limit to $5M. WTF? I'm a PT seller w/o a store. I don't give a hoot about sales limits; like you said, prolly no one's going to reach $5M in sales on eBay. I say, give me more listings per month and I'll feel like I actually gained something. I think this is more nefarious than eBay being generous with us little ole small time sellers. Think about it ... why not offer such a grand gesture to the big time sellers if it really meant anything. We both know no one reads. Me thinks it's meant to dupe the little seller (w/o a storefront) into thinking they have increased their limit of listings to 5M, and those individuals aren't equating sales with listings. I went into my seller hub and at the bottom of the page it told me I still had xx number of listings remaining in my 250 limit for the month; nothing changed. At the top of the same page it congratulated me on my increase in sales limit to $5M which actually means nothing ... Why do it other than to dupe the uninformed into going over their monthly listing limits and get that add'l $.30 cents (or whatever the fee actually is) per listing x millions of sellers. Hope you see this and address it to your followers to assure they're not going over their listing limits because of this confusing email. What say you? Mickey
About keywords: Think like a consumer. As a consumer looking for something, I go to the exact site (ex: Target) and put in keywords what I'm searching for. Not UPC codes or even brand names. Just the item description: white blouse, white pullover blouse. I will do the same in Google search, then I will narrow it down to the brands that I like such as Lands End, Uniqlo, etc. I go to Nordstrom Rack, Target, Uniqlo, and Amazon for clothing more than other sites. But then again I use Google search a Lot (vs. going to Amazon) to search, and then I go to Amazon. But everybody's different in how they search. But EB wants you to put the BRAND name in the title keyword Then the gender (female) then the size, color, etc. I don't know if that works. Like I wrote above, I search for things specific to what I need. I've been told that a white background is best used by Google search. Notice when you search for a product, it always has a white background. Goog search likes those white backgrounds.
I had a buyer demand how i package an item before they bought. I told them how they would receive it (which was not how they demanded). They purchased and still demanded it be packaged their way so I cancelled the order and blocked them because they were overseas and I didnt want the risk of them wanting a return. I would rather wear to cancellation them the expensive return and possible negative feedback. I just got a bad feeling about them because they asked 3 million questions as well as their demands.
Not a question but just a reminder to change your shipping preferences on if a buyer buys 2 of one item… not a huge deal but lost $6 in difference of shipping since I didn’t have it set to combing the weight and dimensions when they bought a quantity of 2. Account settings -> Shipping Preferences -> edit “allow combined payments and shipping” to your liking.
I'm a seller and a buyer and I've noticed that ebays search engine is broken. I'll look up a specific size for an item and get a bunch of results for other sizes.
Glad to have a person helping people get over the fear of negative feedback and to not bow down to the buyers who are trying to hold it over the head of new/never sellers.
i love that final response, comment was rude for no reason and you responded with facts and no change in your tone, best youtuber in the reselling space and love flipwise!
As someone who "copy, pastes" my store policies on every listing: I'm not necessarily adding them for the sake of the buyer, though they are there for the odd buyer who wants to read them. I view them more like "terms of service", buyers dont read them but I can protect myself by making my policies public. For example, I had a person buy an electronic item that was very vintage, sold as a collectible NOT as a working item. They contacted me stating that there should be warranties on electronic items so I should give them a refund since it didnt work. I then pointed them to my store policies which were publically available to them on the listing they had purchased, and while they were ticked off, they couldnt argue that the listing blatantly laid out that there were NO WARRANTIES associated with that item. It also helps if I ever had to prove to ebay via a "Not as Described" claim that my listings are very public about how I do business and what guarantees I may or may not offer
Great content, thank you! As a new seller I sold an item the buyer said it wasn't working. I apologized and asked them to send the item back and I would give them a full refund. Today I received a message from ebay saying the case was closed because the buyer did not send the item back in the allotted time and if any negative feedback would be sent back they would remove it immediately. So, thank you ebay!! Thank you for giving great information on how to handle situations like this very one.
Justin, thank you for all your down to earth, real content! I feel like you touched on this with the descriptions and in your last video, but early on in my eBay research I read that the algorithm wants you to fill out as many item details as possible. How important do you think it is to fill in themes and occasions and all that…is it necessary?
Regarding the Out of Stock question. Those listings renew each month, and will count towards your included listings. 200 or so free, and then different tier Store listings. You can also click "relist" or "sell similar" on your own sold items for at least 90 days. You'll be asked if you want to keep your old photos, or upload new ones. I use Out of Stock when I am away for more than a few months. That way I just go back through an change the quantity back to 1 or whatever and everything is back live, no remembering to end time away and resetting it before it clicks back to live
17:00 you can search your sold listing and sell similar off of those. ebay lets you go back years. no need to keep listings active with a qty: 0 just for the purpose of selling similar.
Here's a question: Why is there a button beside my listing that says, "Send Offers to Buyers" when that listing has ZERO watchers? I can't send offers to buyers that don't exist.
Justin touched on this recently. Basically, you can receive an offer from a seller just for looking at an item. I've been sent offers when researching an item for the purpose of selling that exact item. Just a symptom of the algorithm.
@@jonathangomez9187I’ve seen this increase lately on items I am researching. I’ll get 5-10 offers when all I did was look at their item, which I am also selling a similar one. At first, it was annoying, but I decided it’s a benefit as you’ll see how low the competition will price the same item.
Question - I just ordered various sizes of USPS Priority Mail Boxes via the USPS website but now I'm confused in regard to which one I should use. (i.e. USPS Priority Mail Box vs USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box)? What is the difference between the two and why is the Calculated Cost so different? (Example: I'm mailing an Easton Press book and USPS Priority Mail Box shows calculated cost of $6.44-$22.60 while USPS Priority Mail (Large) Flat Rate Box shows $20.15-$20.69?
Appreciate every video you've ever made..I've learned 100 times more from you than the dozens of other reselling TH-camrs I've watched almost exclusively for the past cpl years. My question to you is: the first n only Coach bag I listed immediately was taken down for being "non authentic". I thought I could spot a fake. How can eBay know just by my photos when I didn't by physically examining it? Is there anyway of finding out what made it "fake" in their eyes? Is there anyway to dispute their decision?
Question: I sold a Radioshack Multitester without knowing it had a corroded battery terminal. The buyer brought it up so I gave them a 50% refund and they were ok with it. How would you go about partial refunds, was 50% enough or should I refund a higher percentage/given them a 100% refund. Also, I assumed that this person was genuine, but how I can tell whether they're a scammer trying to bait me into a partial refund or telling the truth?
I have never sold a Cuisinart blade not one but have sold a lot of bases, work bowls and other parts. I no longer do so because I received multiple dings at one for 3 different parts listing's. It really is safer to stay away all together if you have received a Cuisinart ding already.
Ha. I had a 400 limit and tried to increase it and they said "no" and three days later, 5 million was my limit. My pet peeve is when I click on something nowadays, it tells you 22 people are watching this or 3 people also have this their cart. I don't believe any of this and it's annoying relying on me to panic and make the purchase before one of the others watching it purchase the item.
@@apotheosis21 If you are speaking of watched items, I doubt it. There used to be sometimes I would get 1 person is watching, but now 22, 28, 33 people are watching on trading cards and comic books I collect. After a week, despite all the watchers, items are still available for sale. You would think one person of the 33 or so people would make the purchase.
If you set your buy it now to immediate payment (towards bottom o listing where you select how many days is your handling time) then people won’t be able to put it in their cart or hit buy it now and never pay.
Justin, I just found your channel and am enjoying your content. You have a great way of explaining things. I have a question. You mentioned that you do estimated measurements for your items since you do flat rate shipping. Does this cause you problems with respect to when items sell through the eBay international standard delivery program? Does eBay ever give you feedback that you undercharged or overcharged for shipping or penalize you for your gaps in your estimation? Thanks, Dan
I was selling a woman’s tank top. Last night eBay said my item was sold but ‘waiting for payment’. The 100% positive long time buyer then asked if she could wait + pay in 5 days. She then paid an hr later. The tank top is on its way to her. I was surprised to see another question tonight asking if it’s a sleep top or only a tank top. I ignored that bc it’s listed in the description, + also shown in the pics. In the morning, I will send a standard, TY for your purchase of the ‘tank top’ etc. Am I wrong?
Justin. Great content as always. Thanks for being open about your business. Questions. Do you list 5-8 daily to maximize the free listings/insertion fees? Do you personally have the 5 million max listing and if so why keep a "store"? Wouldn't that mean paying for something they give for free?
Hey Justin, love the channel! Yard sale question - how long after the start time of a sale are you still willing to shop? For example, if a sale started at 7am, would you still go check it out even if you aren’t arriving until 9am? I try to get to sales as close to start time as possible and I’ve tended to avoid sales if I couldn’t hit them close to start. Would love to know your Saturday strategy, thanks!!
How do you calculate the cost of goods for an item that you bought years ago for personal use (and may not even remember how much you paid for it), and are now selling it just to get rid of it? And do you put those sales numbers in with the rest of your items that you bought with the intention of reselling? Thanks.
? Can buyers send offers or out right buy an item when you currently have a counter offer sent to someone else? I had four watchers on an item but the option to send them an offer went away when I sent a counter offer out.
Hi Justin! Question: When shipping in a box that already has the dimensions listed on it usually on the bottom, do you use those numbers when calculating shipping? The reason I ask is because many times I re-measure the box and it's usually over those measurements on all sides. Most times anywhere between 1/4" - 3/4". I know we are supposed to "round up" and I've noticed it will raise the price of postage by using the rounded up numbers. Do most people go by the factory stamped measurements or by the "actual" measurements? I've been using the "actual" measurements to be on the safe side. Thank you for all you do and I love watching your videos and all the information you provide!
I had a rep tell me the buyer had to agree on partial refunds if a new item was returned used. Do you ask buyers permission to give partial refunds? Sounds like they would say no everytime.
Hey Justin Love the channel! I sell low end sports cards and im curious why a lot of my listings don’t get views til after a few days. Or if I do get views no one buys or sends offers even when Im competitively priced. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for you’re time.
As a beginner- I have received some crazy offers, like 50% less than asking price. I have been bold to counteroffer with a discounted price of up to 20% on items that have been recently listed- like 24 hours or less. Can you discuss any strategies you have for the offering and counter offer process. I am finding that I do not make sales with my counteroffers. But that even my initial offers to views aren't getting sold. However, an offer from a buyer isn't necessarily a sale cause they might not pay- leaving my item off the market for the 48 hrs. Please share your experience and any tips. Thank-Jenk
Oh the irony in your statement. “They aren’t getting an extra penny out of me” eBay charges 1.5% on the total of EVERY immediate payment they process to your debit card. Might not seem like much but that adds up, along with all the other fees after the sale of an item.
New seller here. I don’t need the money instantly so I just receive the payout that eBay schedules. From day one, never messed with the payouts. Should I change it?
I LOVE Flipwise, as a newer seller it's been such a time saver! I noticed that my personal mailing address is displayed as the return address on my packages. Is there any way to change that? Should you change that, does it matter?
Question Justin, I’ve been selling on eBay part time since 2018. I’m a mechanic by trade and sell a lot of car parts. I’m in a strange position where I get new OEM dealer parts that don’t really have a proof of sales on eBay. They sell everywhere else, so I’ve been putting them a little below market with 3% promotions with quality pictures and information. I normally profit within the first month of my buys then the not as popular items all sell eventually even if it’s years. Do you have any recommendations on increasing sell through rate? Thank you for the feedback!!
for the quantity of zero question if you have an item you sell frequently then you can just sell similar of the sold out listing and just keep it as a draft, rinse and repeat
Let’s say you stumbled upon a vintage Nirvana t-shirt and sell it for $2,500. How would you go about shipping it? Seems like Ground Advantage wouldn’t be the way to go, thoughts?
Hey there! Long time viewer, first time commenting! Question, do you think eBay punishes you when you receive a negative feedback? I recently got hit with one, and since, the sales have dropped. I did respond to the review and it was more of a negative review of the product, not my service. It’s my first negative, hit in the gut, buyer didn’t change it after I submitted a request. Just wondering your thoughts on that. Thanks in advance for the awesome content!
Justin, love your videos, I have learned so much! I have a question, I was hoping you could address in a future video. I want to sell international, but I understand there are some unique hoops to jump through. Can you give us some good info and resources on doing this right? Also, is there a place in the US you have to send international packages before they leave the US? Thank you in advance.
Hello im a new seller . Just recently when I've accepted a counter offer and when I press the accepted button, this messege popped up. "There is an issue processing your request." Have u had this issue before?
If you have zero amount listings active be sure to change expiration dates if they have any or you will get dinged for selling expired goods when past the date.
In regards to keywords...I have found that in the description it doesn't pull into searches. Most believe it only works in the title but you can sneak keywords into the item specifics if that particular specific is required. They do not work for optional specifics but you can use this if there are additional key words you want to use but you hit the 80 character limit in the title. ;)
Hi Justin, Love your channel-just got a question around feedback. I’ve sold five items in the last week and none of the buyers have left feedback. Can I contact them and ask if the product is ok and encourage them to leave positive feedback? Or not? Cheers, Ryan
Hi, some months back you shared a way to add a code to FB marketplace that will show the latest listings. However for some reason (and i think it's because i left town) i can't get that code to work in my area anymore. I tried clearing my cookies but it just does not seem to want to show me local listings, any suggestions on how to reset my location? I know its more of a tech question rather than reselling but I thought it might be an easy fix so I thought I would ask, thanks man!
eBay shows me I get thousands of page views but I don’t think I really do. I go for weeks sometimes without sales and then all of a sudden I get three sales. I don’t pay for promoted listings. Also I get a lot of people from China buying my stuff and I have all my listings set to domestic sales only. I called eBay and they said they have no way of not showing my items internationally but it’s just China that buys my stuff. ?? I told him they’ve been in business so long that they certainly should have a way for people who don’t sell internationally for their items to not be on an international website
Justin love the content. Question I’ve had a lot of offers I’ve either accepted or given and the buyer never pays. I am 100% certain that the ones I accept say “we will automatically charge the buyer” but still no payment. You have any ideas why? Thanks
Yes, you can set up multiple varying return policies under "business policies" and apply them to different items as you see fit. I do this in my own store.
LOL I am new again since January, + just today, I rec’d a ‘gift’ thing of 5M + then I read the fine print of penalties for ‘Not as subscribes’ etc. 🤓 which only scared me but thankfully I don’t have 1 at this point.
Ebays message offers are about as valuable as a 3 month old newspaper. I take photos of most of my items on top of my white washing machine. You would never know unless I told you.
That photo looked straight out of Office Space, did you work on the Y2K project? Any left over TPS reports? Yeeeahh, we're going to need you to come in on Saturday, K? Grreeat....
eBay increased mine to $50,000,000 🤷🏻♂️🤣 Mile IQ is nice except when I drive for UPS as a full time job it’s to hard to go through that many to determine what’s for eBay and what’s not 😟
Ah the wild and wooly Y2K days of eBay. Craft a mind dump of key words and set the font color to White so it's invisible... don't do it. While you're at it exsponge the word RARE from any listing. The lengthy rules you may set as policy I guarantee you nobody reads or will claim they didn't read. In fact it boggles my mind that anyone would bother with an AI generated fluff fest description.
Candace won't ever see this comment but she should know that eBay doesn't care that she doesn't accept returns. If a buyer wants to return something it's going to happen 9 times out of 10. Antiques & Collectibles is no different in that regard.
2 questions: what are your opinions on automatic take dispensers (if any) and on average how long does it take you to put the data for something you’ve bought into flipwise? Is it done when it’s listed? Do you input data before you list incase it takes a while to list it? Or do you do something like keep a sticky note on the item so when you go to list and input info into flipwise it’s there? Thank you!

So true, then b4 I know it… I’ve spent more time w/the listing process than ever.
Search works exactly how eBay wants.
The top results you get will be promoted listings.
The equation eBay mathematicians use is : promoted > relevance
And the app vs website brings up different results for the same search!?!

Am I wrong?
Hi Justin, thanks for the videos, have learned so much. My question is do you have evidence that buyers don't read the description?
You can't get to all of them at the start, no reason not to show up later and still look.
Sweet, now I can list my Mclaren and Koenigsegg sitting in my death pile
How do you calculate the cost of goods for an item that you bought years ago for personal use (and may not even remember how much you paid for it), and are now selling it just to get rid of it? And do you put those sales numbers in with the rest of your items that you bought with the intention of reselling? Thanks.
Do you bother using “store categories” or stick with eBay categories?
I think the listed dimensions are for the interior of the box.
If the larger measurements are less than 1/2 inch difference, don’t round up. I learned this from a post master.
@@erindixon2877 that’s what I thought. Thank you!
Thank-Jenk
I automatically cash out every day because I don’t want eBay to earn interest on the money… they’re not getting an extra penny out of me 😅
Oh the irony in your statement. “They aren’t getting an extra penny out of me”
eBay charges 1.5% on the total of EVERY immediate payment they process to your debit card.
Might not seem like much but that adds up, along with all the other fees after the sale of an item.
@@goforbroke2 I didn’t say anything about transferring to a debit card
@@goforbroke2 My balance is automatically sent by ACH to my bank account daily. For free.
New seller here. I don’t need the money instantly so I just receive the payout that eBay schedules. From day one, never messed with the payouts. Should I change it?
That's literally the best way to have ebay get every extra penny😂
I LOVE Flipwise, as a newer seller it's been such a time saver! I noticed that my personal mailing address is displayed as the return address on my packages. Is there any way to change that? Should you change that, does it matter?
I got the 5 million deal a few days ago 😂
Question Justin, I’ve been selling on eBay part time since 2018. I’m a mechanic by trade and sell a lot of car parts. I’m in a strange position where I get new OEM dealer parts that don’t really have a proof of sales on eBay. They sell everywhere else, so I’ve been putting them a little below market with 3% promotions with quality pictures and information. I normally profit within the first month of my buys then the not as popular items all sell eventually even if it’s years. Do you have any recommendations on increasing sell through rate? Thank you for the feedback!!
Hey Justin,Where do you buy boxes to ship items
for the quantity of zero question if you have an item you sell frequently then you can just sell similar of the sold out listing and just keep it as a draft, rinse and repeat
Appreciate your videos and knowledge as always!
Any future plans for Flipwise to track crosslisted data from other marketplaces like Poshmark, Mercari, etc.?
yep, coming soon!
Yes..this is what I'm waiting for.
Also is it necessary to use all 70 spots in your title?
I answered this one recently! You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/1yaxC1OSojo/w-d-xo.html
@@justinresells Thank you so much! I also just registered with flipwise. This is going to be a game changer! Thank you again!
They do not work for optional specifics but you can use this if there are additional key words you want to use but you hit the 80 character limit in the title. ;)
Hi Justin,
Love your channel-just got a question around feedback. I’ve sold five items in the last week and none of the buyers have left feedback. Can I contact them and ask if the product is ok and encourage them to leave positive feedback? Or not? Cheers, Ryan
awww. that old photo of you is so darn cute.
I'm not sure! People leave comments on that video saying the same thing, but I have never had that problem. It seems to go in and out of working.
@@justinresells OK thanks!
eBay shows me I get thousands of page views but I don’t think I really do.
Is flipwise retroactive? Will it go back and calculate the first 6 months of the year if I buy it in June? Thanks!
yep. it goes back 2 years
Hi Justin! Yes, pineapple on pizza especially with green pepper. 🍍 🍕 😊
Pineapple pizza is the 💣
Justin love the content. Question I’ve had a lot of offers I’ve either accepted or given and the buyer never pays. I am 100% certain that the ones I accept say “we will automatically charge the buyer” but still no payment. You have any ideas why? Thanks
They might have expired bank account. The only way to know why is contact eBay and give them the item number
I had to figure out that view thing several months ago. Very frustrating. Stupid bots.
Could you in theory have free returns, but then list an item that you don’t want to be able to return? Hope this makes sense.
All items are returnable.
Yes, you can set up multiple varying return policies under "business policies" and apply them to different items as you see fit. I do this in my own store.
@@codex0220 thank you! I learn something new every day!
How do I get in flipwise discord I'm a flipwise user
the invite is in the email saying your import is complete. or you can email me at support@flipwise.app
Did I hear you recommend a promotional percentage of 2% when the recommended % is 11-12%
yep! th-cam.com/video/Kef1xouVphA/w-d-xo.html
Just this week we jumped from $5million to $50 million. Only $49 million before we hit the limit
The white background was so Google lens and Google could easily match it show it in search results.
Grreeat....
hey peter man!
eBay increased mine to $50,000,000 🤷🏻♂️🤣 Mile IQ is nice except when I drive for UPS as a full time job it’s to hard to go through that many to determine what’s for eBay and what’s not 😟
Enjoyed seeing the picture of your younger self 😊
Why would ebay increase store limits when ebay has been suspected of hiding listings?
I'm a new reseller how much do you promote your product

Your content is awesome ❤
Imagine taking advice from someone who doesn’t put 🍍on 🍕….
I hope it works out for u, otherwise it’s so annoying that, when we tap on ur video, it starts later than the beginning.
Str is indeed a feeling.
Mine is $500,000,000
Bro about to make EBay a fortune 😂
Ah the wild and wooly Y2K days of eBay. Craft a mind dump of key words and set the font color to White so it's invisible... don't do it. While you're at it exsponge the word RARE from any listing. The lengthy rules you may set as policy I guarantee you nobody reads or will claim they didn't read. In fact it boggles my mind that anyone would bother with an AI generated fluff fest description.
I mean I like this channel and all but.. no pineapple on pizza?! 🤯🙃
$70 million per month i must be Justin Level Ninja!
My monthly limit has been 2 Billion for years lol😂 Maybe one day...my account is nearly 25 years old
Thank you for answering my important question….🍍😂
Yummm! Love pineapple on pizza! ❤
We usually get one half pepperoni and mushroom and the other half bacon and pineapple. The salty bacon goes nice with the tart pineapple.
Wow. U just made my mouth water + it’s way aft midnight 😑
My dads limit on his eBay is 2 BILLION Dollars or 2 billion items 😂😂😂 thanks eBay 👍
Just got my $5,000,000.00 notice today.
Dude... pineapple on pizza is awesome.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Mine just jumped to 10 million yesterday lol
Candace won't ever see this comment but she should know that eBay doesn't care that she doesn't accept returns. If a buyer wants to return something it's going to happen 9 times out of 10. Antiques & Collectibles is no different in that regard.
Hawaiian pizza (pineapple and ham sprinkled with a little cinnamon) is delicious!
Thank you!
