- The New Era 59Fifty Low Profile is a great alternative for those people who want a lower crown and a pre curved brim. In my previous videos I got a lot of questions asking why I never bought a 59Fifty Low Profile and this video should answer that question for a lot of you. The Low Profile isn't for everybody and is just one of the may alternatives made by New Era to the classic 59Fifty.

Personally I think you look better with a low profile. The high crown makes you look like a train conductor because your profile is thin, but it’s whatever you like. I’ve noticed that the 5950 low crowns are popular among MLB pitchers for whatever reason. Also I noticed that Colin Moran at first base for the Pirates has been sporting one as of late.

Thanks for the great video, dude… Since you asked: I think low profile looks much better on you. It’s unfortunate that the LPs aren’t offered in as many styles as the originals - because I think very few people look good with that big “bucket” towering several inches above their head. The low profile just looks cleaner and more relaxed… but clearly a lot of folks must prefer the “billboard” look.

I like black unders only including sweat band, does not look dirty after a while and easy to keep looking fresh. Btw imo the low profile suit you better.

I like the traditional too probly cuz I have a rediculously large head, and the 7 5/8 fits perfectly.
*It’s all about the fitment!* The New Era 59FIFTY Standard Full-Crown 👑 Fitted Caps used to have a goofy higher Taller-Crown, it has since been slightly lowered gradually over the years, to what I would consider a proper good fitting 🧢 Mid-Crown 👑. The Low-Profile for me is to snug on top 🔝, and does not let your head breathe especially if you grow your hair out. But I do like and prefer a pre-curved brim.

I just got mine today and I really can’t reel the difference except the back part is not tight
I agree with many of the comments that the LP looks better on you. The regular crown volume doesn’t scale with the hat size (all the size does is make it tighter in the back), so I feel that the regular is always going to have a bit of that train conductor vibe with the smaller sizes. I’m a 7 1/8th, and while I think the shape of the LP is a bit too rounded, I feel having less excess volume looks better. It also varies a lot, with some LPs being more rounded than others and some regulars being more square than others too.
I bought a fitted hat a week ago. I curved it but I feel like broke and caused a house roof. Any suggestions to get rid of it? I followed your technique and it still feels funny:(
You can take a steamer to the brim and then once it is warmed up use a wide water bottle or glass to help form the curve. If you can fit rubber bands around it and have it dry in that position it should help restore the shape. Best of luck 🤞🏼🙏🏽

I prefer the original 5950 but I curve my brim slightly similar to have a low pro comes, definitely not as curved as yours, and I prefer the black under visor
Personally never had a problem with the black undervisors but the trend is having something different. The 5950 with a curve is definitely a good choice 👌🏽
I hate the stiff crown on regular 59. It looks like I'm wearing a WWE champion belt on my head, especially with the curved brim. Low profile looks so much better on you bro.

The crown of a regular 59fifty tends to decrease when you curve the bill. Then should I assume that every 59fifty regular can turn into a low profile by simply curving the bill??
no, i dont think curving the bill will make it low pro. i think the low pros are stitched different and use way less fabric.
the 5950 seems lower when you bend the bill, because you also bend the front and it lays back, its not lower, the angle just changed.
One way to avoid super high and boxy crown is to avoid Made in Bangladesh hats. I've had better experience with Chinese and Vietnamese made 5950 especially after shaping them.
how do you tell where it's made looking online?
My issue with low profile is there is now where for that material to go when it breaks in … regular 59 fifties form better IMO

My head big and face slightly round so anything low ain't gonna work 🤣😭 the high ones add more length and slims my face. So it all depends on how your headshape is I'm just happy I'm able to find caps now back in the day I had no clue.

@@GOODNESS10 flat as in structured? If you have a lot of defined angles in your face then low round caps are best for you
Which hat do you feel has a deeper feel on your head ?? Big head most hats don't fit deep enough so I'm in the market of new era hat.

Head shape is important, if you have a small head the regular 59fifty will be too big even if you can get a small size the crown is very high and will not suit a small face. Even the low profile can be problem especially if you have a small diamond shape/oval face.
Help! I'm looking at a 59Fifty low profile. My head measurement is 23 3/8 (or so). I have fitted hats that are 7 3/8 and are a bit snug. I've read the low profile run a little bigger. Anyone have any suggestions? I was going to go up to 7 1/2 but don't want to mess with returns. Does the low profile fit "true to size"? Thanks!
i would recommend going to a local store and trying them on. when i first started trying to get my size down, i bought online and ended up with a bunch of hats i didnt like, vecause i couldnt try them on.
i feel like the low pros are usually a little snugger myself, but our heads could be shaped different.

As you say down to taste, but the standard 59Fifty makes you look like a bit like you are a young kid wearing your dads cap, seems a bit big, square and baggy on your face shape.

59's have the same crown high if u take smaller cap size? Like if cap size 7 have same crown size like 8? Or the crown get smaller too?
yeah the crown stays the same height. so if you wear below 7 1/2, you get the train conducter look. but it doesnt look so bad if you bend the brim to fit your face. if you do have a smaller size head, i highly recommend going for the low pro, and fight the urge for that cool 5950 look.
They never have low profiles at all the local stores that have hats where i live

My “low profile” came in and it looks just like a regular 59fifty, the crown is boxed shaped and also had a flat brim!! 👎🏼 it says low profile inside the guts but I really don’t think it is

I got a couple of 59 50's regular and I used to wear 7 3/8 when I was younger but I tried that size and it felt tight, I bought a 7 1/2 and it was kind of loose. So I'm in between those 2 sizes. And I like a curve on my bill and its kind of hard to keep a curve on them. What do you suggest??
