Shoes are one of those things that nobody ever dreamed would be so valuable one day. For 1 think I was 6 or 7 when the very first Jordan’s went up for sale and I got a pair for Christmas one year. If I knew they would be worth so much, I’d never worn them. So now these days when I buy anything and that I think may be worth big money someday, I buy 2 of them.

Right. You could get a bespoke custom made oxford from a renowned shoemaker for less than that. Hell throw on some crocodile for the leather and it'll be like 10-14k. These are shoes that cost what they cost because of the labor and materials put into them, so they hold their value no matter what unless you absolutely abuse them. Plus they can be refurbished easily for a price, and will last you a lifetime, and look way nicer than any sneakers But hey a hobby is a hobby. Not every expense is practical. I've spent good money on scale statues of my favorite video game characters and those just sit around looking pretty.

You could just as easily tell time on a 20$ watch as you can a Rolex. You can be just as comfortable in clothes from a thrift store as you can with amiris on. You could wear 50$ pieces of jewelry or 1000$ jewelry and look just as good with 80% of people not knowing the difference between both. It’s about feeling luxurious. It’s dumb, but thats the way a lot of people are.
