Man... I truly love your work ! For me the hardscape of the last one looked better, but the planting and the stocking of this one made me prefer this new version ! By the way the cinematic shots at the end are beautiful, some macro shot are really impressive : it's like there is no glass between your lens and inside the tank !

Hey Mj ! I really like the balance between the rocks. One covered in moss and the other one still has some rock showing. If they were both covered it would look too symmetrical. As always great work and creativity❤️

This one looks more natural than the previous one. I mean, the old one looked good too, but if you manage to keep the rocks not completely covered with moss, it will look amazing, natural and full of details! I really like it!

Hi MJ, I really like your new scape because you mixed up three different mosses together to create what I think is naturally chaotic and I love that they grow in the way you showed us.
I am a big lover of ricardia moss but would never able to grow them in clumps rather in long strings and less dense even in a co2 tank with Chihiros A series light.
Really hope that if you could share how you manage them in terms of any special trimming or care for them?
Thank you for always creating new content to inspire us!

I like both of them, and I am sure it is fast and impossible to make the exactly ones. I like that they are different, and I like to see how plants mature over time. Your aquascapes are very clean, so transparent no other particles, just clean water - and they look ideal. I would like to watch a cave created by you. Thank you.

This is a tough one, but I agree with you MJ. The first one's composition is a bit more interesting so that is my favorite. But I really like this one too! The reds in the back are super cool and I kind of like how the moss hasn't overtaken the lavarock on the left side. Both are beautiful!

    Again a winner scape!
    👍👍👍
Though, I'd take the Otos out since the sharp edges of lava rocks might harm their barbels.
I've had Buces melt soon after planting also recently but am convinced that I bought infected Anubias alongside with them. Another idea for melting, and I am quessing here, is too much nutrients in the water column during the initial stages. Would like to hear you guys commenting on this issue.

Very nice natural aquascapes in the both tanks. I love the 2nd one. May I know at the initial startup 1st-3rd week, how intense is your lighting? Do you use any liquid fertilizer during this 2-3 weeks since you got so many nutrients on the soil? I love your videos always showing the ugly sides of the initial planted situation in reality.

I really loved the firt moss scape... in this new version, the gsp between the rocks is perhaps a bit too wide, so the composition doesn't follow the "golden cut". But I love the stones themselves and the mixture of the different rotalas looks amazing. Great fishchoice, too, the scarlet badis are so cute ❤ I think the second version is even better than the first one

I love these moss formations, they remind me a lot of karst mountains! I do prefer the layout of the previous scape - the deep shadow in the midground and the inward tilt of the right rock formation gave a lot of depth to the aquascape and made it seem more dramatic. However the clean look of the current scape is also beautiful and highlights the stone.

    many things need clarification:
1- for moss in general all types, can spread in tank and make mess and attached in everything specifically plants which can hurt it?
2- how to prevent dropping slop soil , as noticed you don't add plastic barriers?
3- you have recorded video you advised strongly for dark start, but you do reverse?
4- you remineralized ro water with apt sky which rich in elements to reach around 120 ppm, so what is necessity of using liquid fertilizer ? or should minimize using of liquid?
5- you declared in previous videos you advice using all in one fertilizer, so shall using extra seperate potassium dosing?
6- I seen in hi tech tanks cardina shrimp (e.g. red crystal) and as known these tank need big water change weekly say 50%, so is cardina shrimp tolerate this big water change?
7- for tropica substrate the mentioned the upper layer gravel not soil , may be to prevent leaching in water , could you clarify it?
    thanks

    • @MJAquascaping
      @MJAquascaping  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      1. Yes all moss types can spread and make a mess, especially when you trim them. That's why I prefer to use mosses that grow very slowly.
      2. In this scape the slope is held in place by all the plant roots, and there is no need for plastic barriers.
      3. I still recommend the dark start method! I don't do it myself because it takes a few weeks, and I'm already planning my scapes weeks in advance.
      4. APT Sky and liquid fertilizer are two different things. APT Sky is used to prepare RO water and adds mostly calcium and magnesium.
      5. For most people an All In One fert is the best option. But if you want to boost the colours of your red plants a ''lean dosing method'' with potassium and micro nutrients can be very beneficial.
      6. I think the more people breed these shrimp the easier they become to keep. In the past you could only keep caridina on RO with low tds and ADA Amazonia substrate. Now I see people selling cardinia shrimp that have been bred on tap water... so yeah I think Caridina shrimp can tolerate big water changes, but it depends where you get them.
      7. Yeah correct, for this type of substrate a cap with sand or gravel is recommended, but I've been using it with soil for a while now and without any issues.

You need to put up some specific details on how your co2 and light settings! How do you get such perfect balance? How long is the co2 on? How long are the lights on? What % brightness are you using on the light?

Light is on full power for 8 hours per day! 13:00 till 21:00
Co2 is on from 11:00 till 20:00, not counting bubbles per second, but adding enough to make a dropchecker go nice and light green.

@@MJAquascaping thanks. I'll try to run some of mine closer to that and tweak from there. Appreciate the reply!

2020 has a more natural vibe, and I love that
2024 looks a bit too artificial, but has superb plants and the colors are so vibrant
Tough choice, but 2020 wins for me
