I came across this page, by accident & I am one who believes there are no accidents. I had never heard of Mr. Takashi Amano, so I looked up his bio, to find he had past away in 2015. What a terrible loss for his family & the community. It is by amazing divine inspiration, that he was able to design & teach, how to carry on his work of beauty & harmony in bringing together the nature of all living things. As I watched this video, I feel sad & joy, as tears run down my face. I think that this world has lost a wonderful human being, who was profoundly skilled in bringing much needed awe & beauty into this world.
Thanks for the very emotional comment, Nanette. You are absolutely right, he has given so much to this hobby. We are honored that he was hour teacher, and we were lucky enough to talk to him in person, and he appreciated our work.
I met him once, competed in 2013 and then retired. Coming back into the hobby again. Mr Amano is the perhaps the most respected aquascaper. This video indeed made me emotional.
@@GreenAquaShop wish I had someone left to be inspired by. Sadly I've superceded all the greats of aquascaping history. Its a lonely place to be being the greatest
This series is some of the most beautiful and emotional aquarium related content I have ever watched on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your journey and the amazing content💖
Yeah, we're struggling with the production costs... We're thinking of having an optional membership option now on the channel for those who would like to contribute. It would probably not change the free content, that will still come. Don't know if we should do an optional patron thing or not...
Its out of the world video for me!!!! Not sure how to describe in words!! Amazing!!!! It's absolute bliss to watch such pure, intense, artistic aquascapes... Pure bliss❤️
Great video! Amano's Big Aquascape is amazing and must be even more when seen in person! The Gallery is also amazing and all the work and inspiration that comes with it! Thank you Green Aqua on all the videos you do! The are inspiring, serene, and beautiful! You really capture the effect!
I've always heard Amano's name for a while now since I started fishkeeping. I got into plants and always wondered what kind of person he was. Seeing this made me respect him a lot more and also realize how many lives he affected by being who he was. I wish i got to meet him too!
This wonderful man has built something that is otherworldly. I feel so privileged to even get to see this and to see it in Japan would be a dream come true.
Awesome , awesome coverage of your trip to Japan 🇯🇵. Thank you so much for sharing this I really enjoyed it you did an amazing job. 👊🏻. Amano is truly a legend.
Been waiting for this one Balasz! I will watch it later, as I'm about to leave Lisbon now. Yesterday I visited Florestas Submersas. It was a real treat, just like you said! It even made me a bit emotional when I first got in! Been watching the aquarium for 4 to 5 hours, fantastic! You said the music would get on my nerves , well.... It did 😉😇 As I said, will watch later and let you know what I think! All the best to you and the Green Aqua team!
They have to have that music, it sells the rest of the place, so people won't stay in there forever and skip everything else.😇 Glad you had a blast Nick, safe journey, will talk to you soon.
I sure did Balasz, and so did my wife. About the music, did you know they even sell a cd with the music? 😂🤣 Thanks for the images of Amano's private tank, I really hoped you guys could get a video of it's current condition, as there is little to find about this one 👍👍👍 Again a joy to watch and good to see that it is still there and taken good care of the spirit of Amano! After visiting Florestas, I can really understand you guys got emotional seeing al the beautiful work of Amano and all the other members of his staff, something really special to experience in real life. I think I was a bit like Tommy two days ago 😂 In real life things like this are just so amazing, no video can capture that feeling. I'm really looking forward to see what inspiration this trip has given to you guys and all the new lay-outs that will come from this! I sure did get some inspiration in Lisbon!
This brought back so many happy memories: years of correspondence with Amano sensei. Those memories are so beautiful, that I shed a tear or two. I am truly happy for Tomi, he was gobsmacked by the experience. Balázs, Viktor, Atti thank you for letting me revisit an amazing part of my past.
Amano inspired many of us to go into aquascaping through his Aquascaping Books. At that time there was no TH-cam. Today i'm glad we have you guys at Green Aqua, who is doing an excellent job carrying the torch over from Amano to reach out and inspire even more people through good quality videos on TH-cam.
If I could ever go back in time and have a cup of coffee with someone from past, it would definitely be Amano sir. And just talk about aqua scaping and learn more till dawn. Great work team GreenAqua for continueing the legacy and teaching classic aqua scaping.
I will have to tell you, that talking to the Master about aquascaping was a very difficult thing, even if you had like a glass of wine with him (which he really liked)... First, he spoke Japanese, secondly he did not really talk about his art too much. Like all Japanese masters, he preferred to show his ways instead of talking about them. He is a Legend.
Beautiful! I think Tommy had the same reaction when I visited one of the last Amano's works - Florestas Submersas in Lisbon. I had goosebumps when I stepped inside
Just got back from the CIAC contest in China- finally can see TH-cam again! Awesome, awesome work as always Green Aqua! And thanks for the shoutout to Stevescapes! Brilliant editing and naturally connecting the topics- really makes me miss Amano-San.

Once again thank you for the high video quality, it really lets us feel like we are there. I always wait till I get home to watch as it deserves to be seen on the big screen and not my tiny phone. Master Takashi!
Yes.
"Outdated by 5yrs but no still very classic".😂👏 . A somewhat Shaaady reply but complimentary at the same time I guess🤔. Mr Amano was/is still a legend. His creativity was overwhelming and his tanks visually stunning.Thank you very much for sharing your experience.🙂👍
Well, I do understand Josh's comment. He tries to push us forward, to tell us something about our tanks - that are far from being perfect. I do see his points, and the problems with the tanks and I really appreciate the Asian honesty, this helps friends a lot, creative criticism. We don't do that too often in the Western world.
Thanks for watching!
@@GreenAquaShop totally and you asked him for his advice and he gave you his answer. I just thought it was funny and the look on your face too.😁
Haha I did not expect him to be gentle on us. We are friends.
Excellent final video for the Japan trip series, sad these are finished but really enjoyed every minute of it. I could relate to Tamas as I had those same feelings when I walked into that gallery, captured that first experience of that special place perfectly. Thanks again for sharing and taking us with you.
