If I’m ever feeling down I watch Warren playing violin for a while and everything suddenly makes sense again. There is such beauty in chaos, I love this man.
"Show off: 1. display someone or something that is a source of pride. 2. boastfully display one's abilities or accomplishments." so... kind of contradictory... if to you he's neither in place nor in tune (abilities that violinists tend to be proud of or consider accomplishments), what is he showing off? To show off you have to demonstrate something good (some virtuosity) that could be showed off... That's the magic of Warren Ellis, his playing is dirty and chaotic but there's some magnetism to it... I wouldn't describe it as a show off, though there's something extroverted and careless, even pornographic going on... I just love it when everything is theoretically out of place but at the same moment so in sync, like a free fall, messy, ugly, but honest as a fist on the gut and beautiful at the same time... but I get that with this things you can just love it or hate it... anyways.. strange wording to express your feelings :)))
