for 10^2000 you subtract 3 to get 1997 then divide that by 3. this means you get 665.666 whatever which means its the 665th illion. so its not even close to whatever you said, its 100 quinsexagintisexagentillion

hey i have a question; whats the game in the background?
all of them are in the pinned comment :P and idk which one youre referring to
oh okie
Great video. :) Fun fact, it wasn't always this way... and it's still not this way everywhere in the world. What you're describing is the "short scale" -- where a million is 10⁶, a billion is 10⁹, a trillion is 10¹², a quadrillion is 10¹⁵, and so forth as you outlined excellently in your video. But there's also the "long scale" -- where a million is 10⁶, but 10⁹ is a _milliard_ (or just a "thousand million"), 10¹² is a billion, and 10¹⁵ is a "billiard", etc. Just like how we Americans uniquely refuse to use the metric system... we also refused to name our really big numbers like the rest of the world. Back in the 19th century, the U.S. was basically the only place you would've found people using the short scale. Over the course of the 20th century though, the British & other Anglophone countries started using the short scale more & more (probably from sharing a common language with us & just from more _stuff_ actually being in the billions all around). Eventually the U.K. government finally caved to doing it our way & made it official in the 70's. (Thanks guys; that was nice of you.) But most of the rest of Europe -- which has different languages & different words for numbers anyway -- still uses the long scale to this day.
i actually think the long scale is a lil insane actually bc of that. like we got thousand. cool. million. cool. but milliard??? like im always so used to saying billion that it seems wierd with anything else lol. and i actually think an even better scale would be there is no thousand and 1 million is actually what 1 thousand is.
@@tristantheoofer2 For real, I mean, we have enough billionaires in the world now that it would be weird for them to all be "milliardaires" instead, right? 😂 I feel you about that "even shorter scale" too that skips "thousand". The root "mil-" already means "thousand". And "bi-" means two, "tri-" means three, "quadri-" means four... so it'd be a system where the latin prefix straightforwardly refers to the number of groups of ",000" on the end of the number. Alas, it's probably too late to change now... but if you start a petition, I'll sign it. 😉
@indnwkybrd yea i want it to be like that because of the fact that it just makes sense lmao
@@tristantheoofer2 💯💯💯 Maybe we can start a petition & get a bunch of millionaires & billionaires to support us. It would be more logical... and from their perspective, it would upgrade them to billionaires & trillionaires respectively. No More Thousands 2024! Who's with us??
@@indnwkybrd real. ill make a poll about it lol
hey uhhh how would you say them for Long scale countries and they introduce -illiards (Milliards, billiards, trilliards...)
(i think it'll work with the first step, anyways imma do a bit of reaserch and if i find anything i'll edit the comment)
Update 1:Its harder that it seems as it has and i mean, No corelation with illions- EVERYTHING BREAKS
actually its the same thing except you take the illion number and divide it by 2. if it ends in a ".5" its an -illiard :P

edit: fixed spelling
edit 2:this comment used to be hearted
believe it or not they DID used to be the 7th to 10th months when there wasnt january and february. but eventually those 2 months were made, tacked to the end but then eventually decided to be the first 2 months instead of the last 2 while september to december remained unchanged
bc they actually DID used to be 7th-10th months lmao. in the old julian calendar the year ended in february or march, so september-december WAS the 7th-10th month. then in 1582 the church gave a shit that the leap years were misaligning days (it was off by 11 when it switched to now) so they made a new calendar and made the first month january without changing the names of the 7th to 10th months. .. and fixed the leap year issue by LITERALLY skipping from september 2 to 14 1752 and adding other rules n shit
