    like the new style. there's a lot of nuance in lifting and this long format gives u time to bring it out (eg shoulder pos over bar in deadlift). yeah hip flexor work is really important - when i started it a few months ago it solved my hip impingement when squatting. looking fwd to the next video!

    Brendan can you do an in-depth video on your dynamic warm-ups these days and how you changed your view on warming up? Also where do you get your very thin bands from?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I can!!

    That was a gnarly injury! This is the reason I go about 75% of my max weight on whatever I’m doing for the day. Take it from a 55 yo, u’ll last longer. 😅

    Interesting that you talked about off and on season technique, that's a change I just made this week. I'm using setups/cues that I know I'm weaker with, but should help me work around some issues I'm having so I can hopefully get an adequate amount of training volume in.

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh dude totally! Technique isn’t static either, it evolves over time due to leverage changes as well as strength dominance’s.
      But even just fluidity between offseason and prep technique is huge. I’m so much stronger in extension but it wrecks my hips and at light loads doesn’t benefit me as much since I tend to lose quad activation and drive. I do wonder if I bias a year or two just straight pushing a neutral position though if it would change. Hard to say for sure

      🧘‍♂️❤️❤️❤️ I genuinely don’t think anything has affected my life more than meditation.

    I started using the SSB and it made me realise my core is kind of a weak link in my squat and deads.

      Dude it’s so punishing lol. Meanwhile Garret fear is stronger on it than his back squat 😭

    Warmups, man. Some days I can just rep the empty bar for a set of 10 and be good to go. Other days need wayyyy more.

    Thats some good shit man, i recently included a 3x3 rpe 7ish sbd on top of my hypertrophy movements since like 2weeks, strength is increasing very fast on dl, medium on bench and slow on squats, i realized i cant be that explosive on squats even with low weights, it hurts on hamstrings, do u know any reason behind this?

    Do you have a guess at what caused the tear? Over training/reaching? Too heavy of a weight? Or just a freak accident? But get well soon; cheering for you mate!

    What time do you workout?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually 5:30am, sometimes half an hour earlier or later. Weekends though I go in at 8ish. Mainly because I do better training 3-4 hours after waking up however pragmatically I enjoy super early morning lifts so on weekdays where I don’t go as heavy I go in early. I find during lighter sessions it doesn’t affect me at all and actually allows for better workouts because the gym is empty
