I could see this given the same treatment here- Nice van...

    I drive one for work. What I don't like, is how long the dash is. Quite hard to get used to it. Compared it to a VW Caddy it feels a mile longer in the front when you try to navigate through tight spaces.

    I was considering the Ram bc I like that the wagon has no 3rd row and a nice, flat, low floor which would be my ideal vehicle. However, I heard there are issues with the transmission...so I'm now looking at the TC. Anybody know if it can be ordered without 3rd row seats? No, I don't care if they can folded down, I'll never use them, would prefer the extra space and less weight.

      @arnemaeschaelck5012 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dodge 318 Cummins
      I don't think so. the ranger comes with a 3.2liter inline 4 diesel in Europe, the only reason this little can comes with a gas three cylinder in Europe or a 1.5 or 2.0 diesel is because it doesn't need to go off-road, it's not meant for towing, it's just meant to haul a couple of things around that don't weigh too much.
      for that a 1.5 3 cylinder gasser is good (best torque for the fuel economy) or a lighter diesel. however, a 1.5 diesel… I would've offered a 2.0. much more efficient and at least it'll move, from experience most people know anything under a 1.6 in even a city car is no good when it comes to diesel, you can play around with a gas engine's displacement much more, but will increase fuel consumption by a lot if you increase engine size, and it's kinda harder to find 'the right engine'.
      a 1.0 3cyl n/a will be super fuel efficient in a city car, but if you're constantly driving with 4 passengers, a 1.5 3cyl turbo is more efficient.
      a 3.0 V6 is overkill if you're the only passenger, but much better, reliable and efficient if you're towing a 1.000 kg trailer compared to a 2liter I4… a diesel doesn't care as much

    • @chrisdaigle5410
      @chrisdaigle5410 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The commercial passenger model has the 2.5L gas and propane version available too. If all you do is light passenger carrying, you might get the diesel. You need to decide on the mileage and the cost of fuel per mile. Propane, gasoline and diesel are different prices in different parts of the country.

    I test drove the new 2.0 and its just sooo slow to react sounding like a wind-up doll... then I drove the 2018 Ram Promaster city and as ugly as it is, it drives 1000 times better than this new Ford - really zippy for a 4 cylinder. Maybe it's Ram's 9 speed transmission?? Is it just me or did I drive a bad one that needed to break in? Can anybody comment on 2019 2.0 vs 2018 2.5 Ford TC? Anybody drive all three?

    • @donkehmcdonkey3703
      @donkehmcdonkey3703 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reg Sparkes depends in your standards. I've rallied a 17 seater transit minibus( diesel with a paltry 155bhp) across europe fully loaded with 6 kayaks behind and still got upto 140kph on the autobahn so I'd say yeah but in the US guys seem to think anything less than 7 seconds to 60 is slow.

    • @regsparkes6507
      @regsparkes6507 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Donkeh McDonkey I hear you. Those guys " in the U.S." does not apply to me, ( being Canadian ) ...I am not a Zero to 60 kind of driver either,...I am interested in towing specs, and expected fuel consumption of a giver vehicle. I do know that you can't always expect a high MPG/ L per100km rating IF we're expecting to tow , but to start out with a higher fuel rating is always good, then at least, you can get a fair idea of what to expect.
      Thanks for your comment.
      This is why I asked Roman to see if he can do a review on the Ford Transit's as well as the MB Sprinter he's just done recently.

      88MS88 From a different engine family is why. Powerstroke is the US naming structure primarily invented for the V8 beasts, whereas ecoblue is the name used in Europe for the different line of engines. It brings it in line with their view of having the same vehicles sold around the world.

      They do have those from the up fitters who do the tool boxes. They make many different ladder racks and headache bars that can hold 4x8 sheets of plywood. They bolt into the holes already on the roof.
      I used those holes to mount a Thule bicycle roof rack on my 2014 TC.

    i got a 2018 brand new transit connect looks like a salvage car . missing retainer clips on fenders.
    bumpers have placed in so poorly that the age of it on the left side is sticking out partially. you guys are so lucky that don't have as many competitors here in US. trust me if toyota had a cargo van like transit connect which they do but not in US i wouldn't have bought this garbage. by the way just to put icing on top goddamn Air conditioning system decides to not work Every once in the while, i have to turn the car completly off then turn it back on in order for it to work. i don't think if 2019 is any better.

      "COMMERCIAL DUTY" , in other words, fleets, you can't get the 2.5 if you are John Q. Public buying a single van. And yes, I agree, huge mistake to withdraw this engine.
      Considering most diesels now require urea to be injected as part of pollution control, the cost benefit of going with that (undoubtedly more expensive) engine will probably be negligible.
      Oddly, Ford in Europe offers the TC with a partition that separates the passengers from the cargo, and it even has a neat passthrough door for long objects like ladders. Not offered in the U.S.? Unless you get it added with upfitting of other racks?
