    How to make the shawl bigger: When you reach row 46, repeat row 38-46 until the shawl is as big as you want it, then do the border row. Thank you so much for watching. (I took 1000m of cotton/bamboo blend and did exactly this and it worked). xx
    How the shawl came about: I was so down and sat down, listening to some preaching as I often do, but nothing seemed to help that day. Then I decided to just focus and start naming things I'm grateful for - so really, I just started counting my blessings and by the end of that afternoon, this shawl was the result. So I see this really as a gift from the Lord. So, by His Grace! I hope that it will be a blessing to you too!! Thank you for your support. Ursula xx

Then I saw your tutorial and the shawl, then I thought Wow, this is beautiful. I need to count my blessings.. Thank you 💖

    Thank you, Ursula, I have used these instructions to begin my single crochet, semi circle shawl. I am using a stitch I also learned from you. The single crochet, ch 1, repeat, then sc in each ch space. Perhaps it will turn out like a blanket of sorts, I am using a yarn 50% wool and 50% alpaca. I usually don't get expensive yarn, so I really want this one to turn out beautiful. Thank you. Hugs. 😊

    I love how patient you are and how great you explain everything. I am on row 34 and enjoying it very much. I use a different mixture of yarn and is getting beautiful. One what I found useful for me is putting a stitch marker every time at the beginning of a new row in the first stitch. Otherwise, I was lost and made mistakes. Thank you so much ❤️

Sometimes it's after 40 dc sometimes after 70 dc sometimes after 60 dc. How do I move forward if I have to do more rows after row 46? There is no standard repetition of row 11 to row 19. Please help. Hi there, you can make it bigger. I have not made it bigger, personally, so I will not want to give out numbers, but I can say this, rows 11-19 is the repeat, so the LAST pattern repeat is from row 38 to 46. I think it would be safe to just repeat that (row 38 to 46) but as I say. I have not done it myself but other ppl have done it.

    Hello! I started making the shawl, i'm at row 12 & it looks beautiiiful, thank you for the aweeesomee tutorial, the effort you put in is amazing! ❤ i have a question though, now i'm using a thinner yarn & a smaller hook as my mother likes it thin and it will be a gift for her :) so the shawl is relatively small than yours. I want to keep crocheting after row 46 & i saw a comment about making the shawl larger and your answer to it, but i didn't understand how to. I don't want to go all the way till row 46 and end up with a small shawl 😢😂 can you explain to me a little bit detailly how to continue after row 46, so i can continue making the shawl with a peaceful mind, without the fear of ending up with a very small shawl? Thank you in advance & congrats again for shooting such a successful tutorial. Best regards from Turkey 🎉❤

      When you reach row 46, repeat row 38-46 until the shawl is as big as you want it, then do the border row. Does that make sense? Email me or comment and if need be, I'll explain further. Thank you so much for watching. (I took 1000m of cotton/bamboo blend and did exactly this and it worked). xx

    Thank you for the amazing pattern, I’m working on my own, but I have a question please: should I count the 2 first DC when I start counting my stitches? Because I’m a little bit confused I’m in Row 19 now and I noticed that there is always 2 stitches more.

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi sweetie, yes you should count all the stitches except the ch1 at the beginning of a row. That ch1 is just to give it a smooth edging. If you want a quick fix, then you can, the next time you do a row with only double crochet stitches, just decrease by 2 stitches or skip 2 increases, so that you have the same count as the pattern. BUT, if it is working out for you then keep going because ultimately if you can make it work with 2 stitches more or one stitch less, then no worries. If you're already at row 19 then you should be able to see that it's all good, otherwise, play it safe and adjust stitch count as I suggested above. Let me know if it works out sweetie.

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh dear! I hate yarn chicken. I hope it works out for you. I've done one where I used two of the same cakes. and the one cake was enough (and left over, but not enough for, let's say, another row) and the 2nd cake was just not enough (made it to nearly the end of the cake). So I think in my case, one of the cakes definitely had less yardage. Ugh. I hope it works out for you sweetie. THanks for watching and question: if you make two of the same, do you plan to turn it into a poncho like i did? I truly love wearing it as a poncho

    Hello again! 😊 now i've come to row 46, you know i asked you about how to continue after row 46. And you gave me an answer saying that i should continue by repeating rows 38-46. I have a little question though :) you know in row 45-46 we increase by 80 dc & and we do that 3 times. So as i continue, as the stitch count will increase, should i increase by 80 4 times for example? Or should i keep increasing every 80th stitch 3 times no matter how big the shawl gets? I hope you understand what i'm asking and thank you in advance. Ps: maybe i should increase by 90 in the progressing rows (in row 54 for example)? If so, what is the ratio that i should multiply the increase by? Hope it's clear enough ❤ btw the shawl looks veeerrry pretty. Thank u so much again for the tutorial, it definitely shows how much effort u put in 💖

      @OMGrannySquare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dalya. It's been a while Reply
      since I did the big one, but what I remember is that I simply repeated those rows again. And it worked. I don't quite understand the question the way you put it (sorry!!) but the principle is, or the answer to your question is, ask yourself, by how many stitches did the DOUBLE CROCHET ROW increase? And just see to it that in your extra rows you have the same amount of stitches that increase. The AMOUNT of stitches that is increased in the DOUBLE CROCHET ROWS (not the pattern rows), is what you should stick to.

    Hi thank you for the pattern! I am loving it but at row 10 my stitch count is over 61... and i have followed everything that was mentioned. So am confused if i am making some mistake

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  ปีที่แล้ว

      Row 9 and row 10 is both double crochet rows. I call it that. It only has double crochet stitches and increases where indicated. So question: Was your stitch count still on track at the end of row 9? 53 sts. Row 10 should be 61 sts and at the end of row 11 it is 63 sts, so there is only a 2st increase. Best is to check your stitch count at the end of each row so that if there is something wrong, you can pick it up real quick. Thank you so much for choosing to do this shawl.

Well, I'm now on row 39 and I've only used up not even half of one of the cakes. Hi, I'm just quering the stitch count, eg. I got to 117 on row 19, but row 20, I have 12 stitches more? I have followed the pattern very carefully but all the increases on row 20 (12 in all) makes the number incorrect. Should I just not do all the increases? Confusing to me 🫢🤔
    Thanks Lyn🎉

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, Good on you for checking the stitch count each row, that way, if things go wrong, you will know where it still was correct. So it sounds like in row 19 you are still on track. I see in row 20 there is only a 3 stitch increase. So end of row 20 is 120sts. Row 20 is basically a windows row. So the reason why you get more, 3 more stitches only, in row 20 is because of the 1dc in the beginning extra, the 1dc in the end extra, and the extra 1ch at the end. Only in Row 21 do you do increases again. 126sts at the end of Row 21. I hope that it works out for you. Otherwise, please email me a picture or post in the facebook Group so that we can help you out.

    Is it easy to make larger

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tammy, once you've done the rows you'll see that the idea is to get the stitches to increase each row by the amount of stitches we started with in row 1. So I've made it bigger by just keeping this in mind. Others have made it bigger even without directions and by just keeping the pattern going. I think it's relatively easy to increase the size.
